My son does Jiu Jitsu here and he recently got "promoted" into a older age group class. He was super nervous about the transition and told me he wanted to quit. I brought him in to talk to the instructors about his decision. A big shout out to Ms. Cassidy who handled the situation brilliantly and managed to convince him to try the class before making a decision. He did the class and loved it! Yes they teach the physical sport at the studio but they also teach sportsmanship, resilience, and integrity. Thank you for creating a safe and healthy environment for kids to be active!
Posted 5 months agoI started training bjj at this gym on March 24', if you are looking for a new gym or just stopping by, this is the place that has everything Bjj has to offer. It doesn't matter what skill level or body type you have. Jiu-Jitsu is for everyone, and its alot more than folding people in their clothes. You will learn focus and discipline on and off the mat. For me, this gym has helped me a lot along with the community I've acquainted myself with this year at tournaments and other gyms, I am truly grateful for the lessons I've been taught through this art. The only bad thing is training with a gi during the summer time with no ac getting slowly steamed like a sauna in your own clothes, but overall, it's a wonderful gym. ~ Joe-Jitsu 🙏:) Edit: I saw the reply, I'm aware we do have ac and I'm glad. I was referring to the days we turn it up😂🤟🔥
Posted 9 months agoI was looking for martial arts for my daughter (4yo, 2022). She tried it, loved it, and we’ve been here ever since. She loves training with kids her age and building a solid rapport with her partners and coaches. I believe this will make a strong and positive impact on her life. After seeing her first class, I decided to try it for myself. Professor Scott was encouraging throughout the hour-long class. My training partners took it easy on me but quickly reminded me how well they could fold the clothes I was wearing… with me in them! I wanted to know the secret ways. This was also a “life support” for my personal wellbeing when I needed it the most. Couldn’t be more thankful for the community. If you’re looking for a new skill to learn at 4 or 40 years old… this is the place to do it. All the coaches provide excellent instruction and feedback on and off the mats. Safe & welcoming classes. Clean & sanitized mats. Change rooms, showers, and ample parking!
Posted 1 year agoVisited YYC BJJ for a class with Scott. Everyone was super polite, great rolls and very welcoming. The gym was clean, had womens' change rooms and showers (bonus for the ladies out here!). Safe place to train, I'd recommend.
