I started training with Mestre Paulao on August 30 2011 shortly after he arriving in Panama, and between coming and going from the mat i always stayed with him in diferent locations , with Mestre DeTarzo i found a different Jiujitsu at my pace with fun but demanding classes, i always find a good environment, the Jiujitsu and Muay Thai classes they are the best, Mestre Tarzo always with good disposition to teach and also you will find in Paulao a Teacher and a good friend if you want to, learn old school Jiujitsu and Muay Thai this is the place with Mestre Paulao. With him i learned not it i was good at Jiujitsu ,but how good is Jiujistu for me. Mestre I wish you and your new students the best in this new stage. I love you Mestre. P.D My english is not the best.

I've had the privilege and honor of training under Professor Paulo de Tarso in Muay Thai since 2020 and Jiu-Jitsu since 2021, and it's been one of the best and most edifying experiences of my life. I not only learned technically like I had never learned before in a martial arts dojo, but I also gained a mentor and a friend for life!

I met Master Paulo de Tarso in 2012 in Panama, and in 2015, I had the honor of becoming his student. As someone who already practiced martial arts, I understood the importance of respect and discipline, but it was on his mat where I truly learned to apply them not only in sports, but also in my personal and family life. As the Master says: "Training Jiu-Jitsu teaches you a lot about yourself and strengthens both the body and the mind." And I can attest to that. His methodology was just what I needed: demanding but deeply rewarding workouts. His warm-up routine—one of the best I've ever practiced—challenges you, stretches you, and, above all, transforms you. It's not easy at first (getting into rhythm and cardio takes time), but when you start to see the positive impact on your health, you know every drop of sweat was worth it. Thanks to his teachings, I not only improved my physical condition, but I also learned to better control my breathing, stay calm during role-playing, and transfer that mental discipline to other areas of my life, both personal and professional. Master Paulo de Tarso is not only an excellent Jiu-Jitsu instructor; he is a great human being, committed to developing better people on and off the mat. I am proud to be his student, his publicist, and his friend. Today I joyfully celebrate the opening of his academy in Canada, a dream come true that I am sure will impact the lives of many, just as it impacted mine. All the best to you, Steph, Kimbo, and the newest member of the family, Boni! Dreams do come true! #Oss

I had the privilege of training under Professor Paulo de Tarso—affectionately known as "Paulão"—from 2018 onward, starting as a blue belt and progressing all the way to brown belt under his guidance. From day one, Paulão was more than just a coach; he became a close friend and mentor. His experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is truly overwhelming. He brings a deep technical understanding, years of mat time, and a calm but confident presence that makes every class both challenging and incredibly rewarding. What sets him apart, though, is his unwavering dedication to his students. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced practitioner, he’s always present, always pushing you to be better, and always leading by example. If you ever get the chance to train with Paulo de Tarso, take it. You’ll not only become a better grappler—you’ll become part of something special. Truly one of the best in the game. "You know what im saying"

Paulo taught at my home academy in Burlington, Ontario. He is the true definition of a gentle giant. He has tremendous BJJ and Muay Thai skills, but teaches them patiently, gently and effortlessly. Rolling with Paulo is an absolute humbling and great learning experience. Highly recommend.
