Great MMA gym with very friendly and respectful people. The atmosphere is welcoming, and both the coaches and members are always ready to help beginners. It’s one of the best places to start if you want to learn the basics and build a strong foundation in MMA. Highly recommended!

What I love the most about Wayfarer Academy is how friendly everyone is: from the coaches, to the staff members, to the other students, everyone is always happy to help and it has made settling in such a joy.

Unreal classes and gym. Great coaching from Abdul and Tom, who somehow find the time to get to know all the members and give you personalised advice. There’s also a great community of people here, and you feel really comfortable straight away. Can’t emphasise enough how great this place is.

The trail week i enjoyed bbj, boxing and wrestling during the week. The quality of coaches and sessions was very high and members was very welcoming. Cant wait to do more i love it. Love BJJ and wrestling, I had never boxed before but still enjoyed learning the stances and there was women to train with not just men which was nice to see. Relaxed atmosphere and begginer classes. Wayfarer also has its own fight ring and gym with good quality machines so you dont need to go to a separate gym. Female changing rooms too and a sauna.

I’ve tried many gyms in the Manchester area but can comfortably say this is my favourite. The facilities outshine anywhere else having the largest open space I’ve trained on with room for a cage and a full gym downstairs included within the membership. The coaches are always supportive no matter your level or how far you wish to go on your MMA journey. The community is different from every other gym in the sense that there are no egos and every training partner wants to support you during the sessions. The mats and the rest of the gym are also very clean which of course is important when training such a close contact sport. Overall would recommend to anyone looking to train no matter what skill level you are at already.

Absolutely love this gym and team! 🖤 Came down from Carlisle to stay in Manchester for a week just to train with them, and have often travelled down for sparring - SO worth the journey! The coaching is amazing, very clever and thorough but broken down simply for everyone to be able to understand - I learn loads every session. And the fight team have always been really welcoming and great training partners. The beautiful facility is the cherry on top! Can’t wait to visit again soon! 🙏🏼 Highly highly recommend! 🙌🏼

I was pretty nervous about going to The Wayfarer Academy on my own, but the moment I walked in, everyone made me feel super welcome. The vibe is really friendly and it didn’t take long for the nerves to disappear. Coach Elliot and Abdul were both fantastic — really knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and encouraging. You can tell they care about their students and the culture of the gym. Whether you’re brand new or have experience, this is a great place to train and grow. Highly recommend! 😃

I've been going here on and off for two years now and can honestly not find a bad thing to say about it. I've trained at a few different MMA gyms across the UK and the coaching at Wayfarer is as good as you'll find anywhere, the people are friendly ( no egos), the space itself is great, with a large mat space, a cage and a good gym area. It's also always clean, and they got showers. I cannot reccommend this gym enough!

This is hands down one of the best MMA gyms in Manchester. The coaches are experienced and break things down in a way that’s easy to learn, no matter your skill level. The training partners are tough but supportive, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. It’s a place where you can push yourself, improve, and still feel safe while training. Whether you’re just starting out or already experienced, you’ll feel right at home here.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Wayfarer Academy. The atmosphere is welcoming and positive, and the coaches do an incredible job tailoring their teaching to different age groups. I’ve seen amazing growth in both my children—not only in their skills but also in their confidence and discipline. My kids absolutely love attending classes and love their coaches! Give it a go!
