Great academy. Very in depth training and the people are very nice and friendly. Started training when I was 11 and now I am 20, feels like a second home.

It was my first time at a BJJ gym, and these guys made it a great experience. The staff and other attendees were friendly, and helpful. If anyone is remotely interested in Jiu Jitsu, I highly recommend this place.

As someone who had zero experience in brazilian jiu-jitsu, I was welcomed by everyone. I been going to Tinguinha BJJ Academy for 3 months now and I enjoy how Mauricio pushes me every class. If you want to learn bjj and are new to it, I would highly recommend this place.

Best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy around! From kids classes to adult competitors, and everywhere in between. A family-friendly environment. It's an honor for me and my daughter to call TBJJ Academy our home and to call Tinguinha, our Professor.

Professor Mauricio "Tinguinha" Mariano has been a black belt for well over 20 years and it shows in his academy. I've had the pleasure to train under his tuteledge and leadership in one capacity or another over the course of the past 9 years, and for the last 5 of those, I've had to make at least a 30 mile commute to make it to class. His level of safety, professionalism and camaraderie keep me coming back, day in and day out, week after week, month after month, year after year. His academy is well-rounded and safe for both beginners and experts alike. Should you wish to focus on the sport, self defense or fitness, Tinguinha and his staff are able to meet your needs. Professor Tinguinha teaches all of the classes himself - something that is unheard of for someone as renowned as himself within the jiu jitsu community. This means his eye is consistently on your training and he is able to provide appropriate feedback to foster continued growth - from the first day you step on the mats until well past the time you've earned your black belt. Additionally, he provides student consultations periodically to get one on time to discuss your goals, your level, and how you are developing. This is a value added service at no additional cost, even tho I don't know of any other academies who do this. But perhaps the most important part of the academy has to do with the culture that Tinguinha has created. The students work together as a team, enabling the progress of one another, creating lifelong friendships both on and off the mat. Tinguinha continues to ensure a safe and healthy environment where you can work on becoming the best version of yourself. Finally, the school has added hygienic procedures to ensure a clean and safe environment in the covid era: a designated entrance and exit, small class sizes, temperature taken at the door, wipes and hand sanitizer, and mats cleaned between every class are only some of the safety measures that have been added. I can lt say enough good things about this academy, professor and team. Please feel free to check the schedule and come visit!

I have been training here for a long time now and honestly I am so thankful to be a part of this team. Mauricio is an excellent professor and truly cares for the wellbeing and progress of his students. To be a part of this team you sort of join a family here that builds each other up. Everyone wants everyone to succeed and try their hardest here. Many of the people that join this gym usually stay here for a long time and I think aside from the high competitive skill level of this gym, the atmosphere is welcoming and fun. Highly recommend this gym, you will not regret it.

I have been at this gym for over six years and this academy has an amazing wealth of instructors, training partners and just all round makes everyone feel welcomed and part of the team. No matter your experience level, the head coach is invested in your progress and will push you to be the best version of yourself on and off the mats. The team itself is a group of great people that are always willing to help out and work with you to achieve your goals no matter if you want to compete or just gain a healthier lifestyle. If you are interested in learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the Orange County area you cannot go wrong with this gym .

Great place for beginners and veterans. Also, a great place for families. I've been training here for about 13 years and it's because it feels like family. Mauricio is an amazing instructor and I am extremely happy that I started my journey at his facility.
