We cycled through a few local martial arts schools before landing at Tiger Kang. My kid absolutely loves this school. The classes are structured in a way that promotes high-energy movement but still encourages focus and discipline. The instructors expect and model respect while still being playful and fun. My kid has ADHD and these classes are helping her with self control and confidence. Tiger Kang is the best!

I normally do not post reviews, but a recent post about this school made me want to make sure I voiced my experience. One the owner, SHIHAN Mini, has offered help to others in her dojo and goes out of her way to buy snacks and goodies for her students. The school has always put respect and raising good people above all. I've never felt my son was anything other than family with Tiger Kang Martial Arts and definitely not just a dollar sign. Also, her son, Sensei Peter, is an incredible role model to the students. I have seen him discipline students for throwing a tantrum or showboating in the middle of a tournament. He embraces people for their unique personalities and connects with them. He has shown these kids it is ok to have fun and be yourself, but there is a time and a place. My own son has been talked to about making sure to do the right thing when it comes to dealing with teammates so I know there is no nonsense when it comes to respecting another person. I loved the school so much when we had our second child I felt comfortable enough to bring him to classes and he has grown to call Shihan his Grandma. Sorry for the book here, but I could write many more great things about all the senpais as well. Send your kid here if you want them to not only be a great martial artists, but an even better human being.

I am a member of a local BJJ gym in Delaware and I wanted to leave a positive review for the team at Tiger Kang. I volunteered at the We Defy Foundation fundraiser at Riverfront Jujitsu in Delaware this past weekend and observed many youth competitors from Tiger Kang. They showed phenomenal sportsmanship and very technical Jujitsu skills throughout the day. All of the kids that competed from Tiger Kang helped raise money for disabled veterans and deserve a pat on the back. The leadership at your gym shows. STRONG WORK Tiger Kang.

I can’t say enough about Tiger Kang. The Senseis and Senpais are wonderfully attentive, provide excellent advice and instruction for the kids and are fun most times, but strict when they need to be. Shihan is an amazing leader and example for the kids as well. This is not like other places that are in it for the wrong reasons. Every promotion here is truly earned and every decision is made with the kids’ best interests. I am only sad we didn’t get here sooner!

We have been coming to Tiger Kang for more than 3 years and our children LOVE IT! Shihan is the best there is and we are so grateful for Sensei Peter and Sensei Nina. This academy focuses on more than martial arts. They teach respect, focus, discipline, team work, responsibility and commitment. Tiger kang is the best school around. I’m a yellow belt here in karate and a blue belt in grappling here. The karate classes always give a good sweat and I’m always learning new things. The grappling is top tier and they’re definitely one of the top teams in the area. Love being part of the Tiger kang family!

Tiger Kang is an exceptional MMA school. My son started there 9 months ago. He came with a black belt from another Taekwondo school which he earned after being there for 7 years. When he joined TK he started from scratch - white belt. He was hesitant and upset as it was a hard pill to swallow. But after the first class he realized why and he hasn't looked back. All senpais and sensei's are very skillful, kind, and passionate, attentive to every little detail. We love the dynamic and how they teach each student individually and as a group, they correct students right then and there so everyone performs on the same level. My son became confident, respectful, his skills across the board have dramatically improved. We feel as a part of an amazing family and look forward to each and every lesson.

I go to this place for karate in my honest opinion I highly recommend Everyone is treated like family here. All of the senpais and sensei's are nice. It's a great place to learn how to defend yourself. They have great events in the winter. If your kid was looking for a martial arts school I would recommend here because of how well they teach discipline and defense. When you get to a certain belt you learn how to spar which will help you if you ever want to be in a championship for sparring. I would give this place a 100/5 stars if possible. In my honest and maybe a little biased opinion, this is an amazing place that you should sign your kid up for.

The experience at Tiger Kang Karate is almost difficult to put into words- my son has been a student there over 5 years. He has not only gained excellent skills in martial arts but has grown in self confidence, frustration tolerance, understanding of respect for self and others, humility, and good sportsmanship. The senpais and senseis (instructors) are the best role models I can imagine for my son- in martial arts and in life outside of the dojo. The curriculum is highly competitive and comes directly from South Korea where the Kang family originates. The community that the family builds, by virtue of who they are and how they treat people, is something that you know is special the moment you step inside. It’s no surprise this dojo consistently gets voted “Best karate school” in the area and is incredibly successful at competitions. They are absolutely first rate in all areas.

UPDATED: I've been at TKK for 9 1/2 years now, and it has definitely been the best decisions of my life. Black belts are earned with hard work and dedication and take years of training. It's very fun and everyone treats you like family. Your children will also learn respect and discipline along with martial arts and make many friends along the way. I am currently an instructor there, and I can't say enough good things about the instructors alongside me. Every one of them go above and beyond to not only assist students with martial arts, but to ask them how their day was, put a smile on their face or make them laugh. Students really form a connection with instructors, classmates and other families.

My two daughters and I are all Tiger Kang students and we love love love our Tiger Kang family! Initially, I signed my 5-year-old up because I thought it would be a great way to channel some aggressive behavior. It absolutely helped and after two years she still LOVES it. My shy 7-year-old decided to join after seeing all the fun her sister was having in class... it has really brought her out of her shell! She now has the confidence to socialize more and will stand up for herself if needed without hesitation. She practices, works hard, and feels a sense of pride when she achieves a new skill. As for me, Tiger Kang's adult classes not only give me a challenging (and sweaty) workout and provide me with self-defense techniques, but they also give me a youthful energy that I carry throughout my week. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at both martial arts and teaching students. They are inspiring role-models that show what can be achieved with focus and dedication. It doesn't get any better than Tiger Kang!

This is THE BEST karate dojo that you will ever find. PERIOD. When you or your child becomes a black belt through this dojo, they will #1 Be a changed and better person because of it. They will learn respect (and I mean REAL respect), they will learn how to put others first, they will learn how to BE A LEADER (you will come in shy and come out able to teach your OWN DANG CLASS). #2 You will be one of the most skilled martial artists on the planet. At Tiger Kang, every black belt student deserves their black belt. They put quality over quantity. So no matter how many years you spend learning karate, they won't actually give you your black belt until your skills actually deserve it. I've been to other karate schools and their black belts are a joke compared to Tiger Kang. Literally anyone of the black belts here could be the star of some movie with martial arts in it. And that is how good you will become after coming to this dojo.#3 The positive and friendly environment is unreal. Being a part of Tiger Kang is like being apart of a family. It is a family run business who are genuinely passionate about what they do, but they don't just have the passion, they have the skill and talent. They are so unbelievably nice but are also very serious about showing respect. So my overall point is that this karate school is too good to put into words. You just have to experience it yourself.

My son Gavin is 7 years old and absolutely loves Tiger Kang Martial Arts! He has only been enrolled for three months but has learned so much already. Tiger Kang Karate is honestly one of the best places to practice MMA. I’ve been going here since kindergarten, and I’m now in seventh grade. I still have that same feeling of enthusiasm walking through the door and always feel warmth and kindness from the senpais and senseis. They keep the classes fast-paced, energetic, and fun but still find time for each individual student and ensure that everyone understands the material being taught. I also feel accomplished because I know that I’m not just given my belt, I’m going to have to earn it. I can be sure that my skills are going to match my belt and that I will move up by experience and training and not by other means. At the end of class, I find myself saddened that I have to leave because I love going here so much. Aside from teaching MMA and self defense, this school also focuses heavily on the respect factor. I have learned discipline and can give credit to this school for that. We have our own special Tiger Kang family that I can proudly say that I’m a part of.

This is NO "McDojo." (A sure sign of one is a karate school that nickels and dimes you for everything, and stresses belt advancement over actual skills.) The Senseis and Senpais at Tiger Kang are caring, thoughtful, and attentive to both individual and group needs. Their students and student-teachers (senpais) keep things moving at a high-energy pace, stay on schedule, but yet still find the time to ensure that no one gets left behind. They stress the importance of respect of others and self. I'm continually impressed, even after 6 months of my daughter attending this school. Ask any parent with a child at this school, they get top marks - and they've earned them!

The dojo reflects a welcoming and positive environment, that allows for not only children to grow, but as well for their entire family. They will teach more than what is believed, or intended. Tiger kang karate is not only beneficial for learning how to be strong and learning how to defend yourself, it is also good for learning how to be respectful and confident. On top of that you also get to have a lot of fun with the kind people around you. Going there means joining a strong family, and you will never regret it. Everyone is so welcoming and when you join, you will never want to leave. I could say a lot more but overall throughout these few months I’ve been at Tiger kang I know that Tiger kang karate is hands down the best karate school there is. I am so excited for the next few years to come, because starting karate here was definitely the best decision I’ve made.

Joining Tiger king Karate was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I have learned a lot of Martial arts, discipline, and respect. Before I started karate, I had really bad balance and coordination. Karate has helped me with those two things which I think they are very important factors for the sport. I didn't realise I would make the amount of freinds I would, all I expected was to learn Karate and go home. The Best Karate Place in town.. you learn self-defence, MMA, Katas, kicks, Sparring Combos, and (my favorite)(it is also a choice) Brazilian Jui-Jistu. If your child doesn't respect you, just send them over to Tiger Kang Karate, and they will most likely be way more respectful in under a month! I am a student there, and it is most likely my favorite place to be.
