I’ve been training at this gym for a few months now, and I can’t recommend it enough. The environment is super welcoming, whether you’re a total beginner or someone with experience. What really stands out is Levi, the head instructor. You can immediately tell that he wants to see everyone succeed, not just his competitors. This gym has found a great balance of pushing you to work hard while still keeping things fun and technical. Levi explains things in a way that make skill development almost intuitive. The team vibe here is also awesome. Everyone is friendly, and there’s zero ego present on the mats. I look forward to coming here to be around genuinely cool and interesting people. Levi and this gym get my highest recommendation.
Posted 11 months agoI had a great time here. I dropped in from out of town for a competition class. Very welcoming environment, super clean gym, nice and skillful training partners and very good instruction. I have dropped into several gyms across Canada and the US and this was the hardest class I’ve ever done. Can’t wait to come back again. Thanks again for the great experience!!
Posted 1 year agoWhat I really appreciate is how this academy supports the Jiujitsu community at large. I am not a member here, but have been coming often for classes that are open to all, and I genuinely love visiting here. The teaching is top notch and modern. I have improved my Jiujitsu skills while attending OGC, from the new techniques I’ve picked up, to the minor tweaks to better adjust the moves I already know. The sessions are fire and the lessons have been invaluable! The community here is open and friendly, inviting and helpful. It’s a chill place to just be with other like-minded Jiujitsu loving aficionados. To top it all off the place is quite beautiful with all the amenities that you could hope for! Showers with fresh towels and soaps, a mélange of recovery and repair equipment, plenty of health focus post-workout drinks and eats, and an expanding space to hangout and enjoy! The head coach and owner is attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about his club and Jiujitsu which he channels thru his compelling presence and magnetic vibe! Highly recommend!!
Posted 12 months agoI would recommend this place to anyone wanting to practice Jiu Jitsu without any affiliation. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Showers are always clean. Healthy snacks are always available to members. The real kicker is the cold plunge tubs available at all times. Zen vibes. OGC is the future!
Posted 1 year agoBy far one of the coolest clubs I have ever participated in! I immediately felt welcome, and I felt like I was making friends almost immediately. Everyone is incredibly welcoming. I haven't had the opportunity to become a full.member yet because of personal circumstances, but once that changes joining OGC is the top of my priorities list! Thanks guys for an amazing experience! Can't wait to come back.
