The new facility is incredible! There’s tons of mat space, a dedicated weight training room upstairs, spacious lobby, big showers! The coaches and students are incredible in both the jiu jitsu and Muay Thai classes. I also love the CLA training style, I feel myself leveling up so much faster. Super thrilled to have started training here!

Awesome facility, great instructors and one of the best places around to get some quality (and fun) training in. They are very welcoming, even if you train at a different location.

I’ve been training at The Academy Eden Prairie for some time now, and it’s been an incredible experience. The environment here is perfectly suited for anyone looking to improve their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills. What stands out the most is the supportive and encouraging atmosphere that permeates every session. The instructors are knowledgeable and passionate, making each class both educational and enjoyable. As a BJJ competitor, I feel that my skills have significantly improved thanks to the rigorous training and the high-quality sparring partners I’ve found here. The facilities are top-notch, providing everything needed for a comprehensive BJJ training experience. Overall, The Academy Eden Prairie is a fantastic place for anyone serious about becoming a better BJJ competitor or just looking to learn and grow in the sport.

We take our kids here twice a week for jujitsu and we love how they are progressing gradually each week. The coaches are attentive and they pay close attention to each student to make sure they are doing them right and understand the jujitsu's moves. I love how the coaches sometime incorporate other form of martial arts such as Thai kick boxing. Demonstrating different form of martial arts is an eye opening experience for our kids. We love how the coaches emphasize crucial core values such as teamwork, agility, being respectful, quality over quantity, self confident, being competitive and sportmanship. We are please with this location. You'll be surprised what your kids can absorb by being around great coaches.

I am so grateful I found this place! My 4-year-old son goes there and he loves it so much. The coaches are amazing. They are super fun and at the same time discipline them, and teach them how to respect each other and everyone else and be kind. I am seeing so much change in my son so far especially with discipline. They have these work sheets for reading, discipline and healthy eating that parents fill, and kids get strips for their belts whenever they complete a certain number. My son is motivated to do so much now. I highly recommend it for any parent who wants his kids to be in martial arts because they are learning so much more here!

I saw an ad about Muay Thai and BJJ on instagram and went to the gym out of curiosity. I'm glad I did. I worked with Matt, Anthony, and Justin and took both intro classes. They are great instructors, and it's not just the belts. You can see it in the community; the gym is professional and friendly, and every participant takes the discipline of martial arts seriously. If you want to have fun learning a new skill, or plan on taking a crash course into your professional MMA career, The Academy at Eden Prarie is the place to go.

My fiancé and I recently attended a couple classes with coach Matt. It was fun, informative, and he taught in a way that we all could understand going by and checking individuals as we did different moves. We can’t WAIT to go to our next class! So much fun and such a welcoming group of coaches!!!

I have been at the academy as a "beginner level" having no experience of Muay-thai before. I joined this gym back in december 2016 and been there ever since. To be honest, it is more like a one to one class rather because the coaches here keep an eye out on every student irrespective of their level. I feel this is important because it is never too late to start doing something rather than assuming that it is not a right time because you are a "beginner" I strongly recommend to check this place out, they have different payement plans, a beginners class to help you settle and you have the power to decide if you want to continue. Special shoutout to coaches justin, lucas and hayden.

Im back in Jiu jitsu after being gone for almost 10 years. Hayden at the Eden Prairie location met me at 6 am to show me around the club introduced me to every one and helped me get into my first class smoothly. I have been popping into random schools throughout the twincities looking to find a school that felt good and was worth the money. After the 1st 10 minutes of being in the studio i knew the Academy was the place for me. I would recommend them to anybody even mildly interested in getting into martial arts. Great school great staff great club!

We attend the Academy as a family, with children from age 4 to 8. The coaches have been exceptional, well-qualified and well-trained, friendly and give personal attention and advice to each individual. It has helped our children with self-discipline, motivation, focus as well as helping them gain physical coordination and strength. We highly recommend the Academy to individuals or families.

The instructors are awesome and you actually get to learn how to do the moves right. Other great thing is I feel more confident if I was attacked, I would be able to defend myself. Even though I am not eating healthy as I should be. I have definitely seen a change in my body and have had more energy. It's real fun with a relaxing atsomphere where you feel accepted right away. 😊

Getting my first belt with Coach Justin was so rewarding. I had never experienced any martial arts training prior to starting in November. Since then I've trained with some of the most honorable and skilled coaches, with fellow fighters who have had years of diverse experiences and styles, and have an incredible time while burning heaps of calories. It feels so good to be in shape, to feel secure and strong in my own body and to know that if needed I could dominate an aggressor and escape. I plan to continue to progress with my belts and to be an outstanding example of feminine strength for my two little girls. LIFE CHANGING - THANK YOU ACADEMY!

Great team atmosphere! Every one is in there to push themselves for a fight or personal reasons! Coaches are good guys, they really want you to develop and learn the technique. I've been training at other gyms and I have had the most growth in this one! Brazilian jujitsu (BJJ) is great with a black belt instructor who rolls with his team and gives tips to each persons individuala style. The Muay Thai is taught at a pace where everyone from day one people to fighters can get a good sweat going and still develop.

I was in town for a couple days for work, I connected with Hayden for a private lesson. Hayden has a relaxed demeanor, listens carefully and the resulting teaching style is very effective. He identified areas of strength and where improvement could be done. Based on that, he organized his teaching session accordingly. I learned alot from my 1 hr class and when I come through Minneapolis again, I will definitely be back for another private session or join a group class.

Moreece Antwon

My name isn't Moreece Antwon but I do want to leave a review because I do go to this gym. I've noticed that it seems like the muay thai coaches favor specific people and pay less attention to new comers who do want a chance to get better and/or want to earn an amateur fight. Personally I think that could make others feel like they're not getting their money's worth in some sense and i feel like it really could discourage others from returning because that has and still is happening to me. Other than the favoritism and lack of attention to others in this gym, it's very clean and they do have great prices for what they offer.
Posted 1 year ago
Dan

Good Instructors, Knowledge and Facilities. Way too MONEY hungry though. Like seriously....they're charging as if everyone is RICH. Even if you get put on their "scholarship" program where they bring down the price to like 80 from like 300+ and then obligate you to six months and increase it each month. What a joke. I didn't know I had to be wealthy to learn self defense.
