  I have had the pleasure of training here for the last couple weeks and I can honestly say that this is a fantastic place to start or continue your jiu-jitsu journey. They have a huge facility with a large, clean and comfortable mat space. All of the staff are extremely kind, professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. The instructors are very intelligent and obviously very talented in the technique and teaching. There are a lot of different black belts who teach, observe, and coach their students with attention and care. The other students I have been training with are very respectful and competent, further showing the professionalism in their academy and curriculum. If you’re looking for a great place to learn and train BJJ, this is an exceptional place to go. Thank you Teragi Academy for everything!

  Really glad we just so happen to stumble upon Teragi last summer when we were looking to start my daughter in jiujitsu. She started in the summer camp program and has been attending classes fairly regularly ever since. Getting her to class hasn’t always been easy, but the amazing owners, professors, coaches, and staff always welcome her with open arms and have created a training environment that’s fun, and more importantly, a space that empowers the kids to develop strong physical capabilities and mental resilience. Facilities are top notch (reminds me of a high end spa) and they also have a learning center where they hold after school programs to promote the importance of academics. We recently started my son as well and can’t wait to see the both of them progress on their jiujitsu journey. Thank you to the Teragi team!!

  Teragi Academy welcomed my son and I at their gym while we were traveling from out of state. They have a fantastic facility and great instructors! My son had a fun time getting extra training in during the Saturday kids class. Will definitely be coming back next time we’re in town!

  I had been looking for a BJJ gym for months and I accidentally stumbled upon Teragi and boy, am I glad I did! I cannot say enough great things about the gym. The instructors are top notch and the community is very welcoming overall. The culture here is team oriented, where everyone pushes each other to be the best version of themselves on the mat. Most importantly, the gym emphasizes safety and makes sure training partners are taking care of and looking out for one another during sparring. As someone who is conscious about avoiding injury, this is a huge plus! I want to also acknowledge the amazing owners (Thomas, Toni, Prof. John, and Donna) for creating a great place for everyone to train and for being so welcoming! It has been a privilege to train here and I encourage everyone to sign up for the free week trial. Highly recommend!

  I accidentally stumbled upon Teragi Academy while walking my 2-year-old in a stroller. The academy was closed then, but it struck my attention when I looked inside. I emailed them that day about having my son do some sports. One of these owners got back to me within 30 minutes, and we spoke about how Jiu Jitsu can help my son stay confident and active. In addition, there is a classroom that offers tutoring and daycare. We have yet to utilize their tutoring classroom. Still, it looks very promising, with so many kids doing homework and studying. Fast forwarding months later, my son has been going there for three months, and he's having fun. The coaches there are patient with him as my son is in the 4-5-year-old class and has a short attention span. Give them a try, and they have GIs for anyone to try out for the day or week with no pressure at all.

  Teragi Academy is awesome! It’s perfect for our family! In addition to the jiu jitsu classe that my husband takes, my daughters and I also enjoy their yoga classes. It's a great activity for me to bond with my teenagers or alone time, while getting fit and decompress from the stress of everyday life! The facility is modern, clean and new. The owners and staff are not only knowledgeable and passionate, but also very kind, supportive and super patient. It's a great energy and vibe for the whole family. We really feel like we’re part of the community. They also offer after-school tutoring with lots of other special events & activities for younger kids. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

  I recently had the opportunity to visit this academy for a women's open mat. As I usually train elsewhere for the last 7 years, it was so much fun to connect with other women and share experiences in a very supportive environment. The instructors and students were very friendly and welcoming. The academy is beautiful and absolutely spotless. I would have no qualms about bringing my kiddo here too (who also trains). I can't wait to go back!

  We were looking for a jiujitsu gym for my 5yo son and this was the first one recommended to us by a friend! And BOY are we so glad we found this place! They have been so patient with my son as he was a complete beginner with no knowledge of BJJ. He is progressing slowly but surely, and I'm so proud of the progress he's made at this gym. It's teaching him more than just jiujitsu technique, but how to be a good partner, how to listen to instruction, and the bonus is all the friends he's made along the way! The staff, coaches, professors have all been amazing- so patient & encouraging and have truly become our friends now. I joined the women's class a few months after my son and it's been amazing to be learning the same thing as him. A new type of bonding experience for us. :) The women’s classes have given me confidence in my own strength as this was my first exercise class since having kids! It’s been very empowering!! I cannot recommend Teragi more and my friends all know how much our family loves BJJ now! :)

  As someone who has never partaken in any sports or athletic activities, Teragi is a perfect place for me to find my passion for Jiu Jitsu. Not only are the professors/instructors knowledgeable and attentive, you also feel a sense of love and community with everyone there.   If you've been thinking about trying jiu jitsu or yoga, let this be your sign to check out Teragi! The Ramos and Kim families have created a welcoming, safe, and inspiring place for people of all ages to enrich their bodies and their minds. I attend the Yoga and Women's Jiu Jitsu classes, and have enjoyed learning from all the experienced instructors (world champions!) while building real friendships with my fellow yogis/jiujiteiras. Growing in community while improving my health and wellness is a win-win. It is also a joy to see how family-oriented the entire facility is, from educational academy programs to "Roll With Your Kids" days to foster positive experiences between parents and children. There is nothing cuter - or impressive - than watching these young athletes demonstrating jiu jitsu techniques while building their confidence! Teragi offers a complimentary 1-week pass to try out as many classes as you wish (which is what I did). They also regularly offer open mat and free/introductory workshops. And if you would like to continue, a variety of plans are available for every schedule and budget. I never thought I'd be doing jiu jitsu in my 30s, but here we are. A true testament to the kind of accessible, inviting, and skilled environment you can find here! :)

  I love Teragi! I attend their restorative yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (9:15-10:15 am) and they are awesome. It's probably the best part of my mornings b/c it allows me to stretch out my problem areas and de-stress. Nita is an excellent instructor and is able to talk about the moves in an anatomical way that I really appreciate. They also have a Saturday morning yoga class and a pretty reasonably yoga membership, as well as a per-class payment plan. Totally recommend it!

This thoughtful inclusion makes it an ideal destination for families, as parents can comfortably pursue their training knowing that their children are in safe and caring hands. Teragi Academy radiates a friendly atmosphere that instantly puts both adults and children at ease. What truly sets them apart is the genuine warmth and hospitality showed by everyone involved. My family and I will definitely visit Teragi every time we’re in town. Truly a nurturing environment for the whole family!!!

  I have wanted my kiddos to take BJJ lessions for a long time. I had the opportunity to check this place out and it has exceeded all of my expectations. First the Owners are some of the best people I have met. Their knowledge and passion for BJJ is amazing. The instructors are both extremely knowledgeable and personable for the kids or adults. Both my kids were very hesitant to start, but now they ask daily if they can go and take a lesson, and they even got me to join as well. For kids or yourself its definitely worth it to go check this place out!

  Recently I had the opportunity to train at Teragi Women class, and I must say it was an incredible experience. The instructors were highly skilled and knowledgeable, providing excellent guidance throughout the session. The gym itself was clean. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner, this gym offers a great place to learn, grow. Highly recommended!

  I've looked for a jiu jitsu place for my son for some months before I found this place. From the very first day I knew this is the place. And since then my son loves to go everyday. No traffic, no problem finding a parking spot is a great start. Entering the gym you'll be greeted by one of the owners who are warm and welcoming. The mat is huge. More than enough for 20 kids plus coaches to role at the same time without bumping into each other. Cleanliness seems to be a basic here. Restrooms and changing area are clean. Coaches and professors are world champions. And they are always there ready to jump in and give hand training. Like the days when 20 kids showed up more coaches jumped on the mat so that a coach/professor can focus on a handful of kids. This is a great place. I can't wait for them to start after school program.

  If you ever had reservations in enrolling your child or yourself in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I highly recommend Teragi Academy. It is unlike typical BJJ gyms. The coaches are top notch and have the medals to prove it. This academy is warm and inviting. There is a learning center in the gym filled with books and desks. What other gym has that?! It’s also kept very clean which is a must. The academy is located in the beautiful Golden Hills neighborhood. There are no traffic concerns and parking is not an issue. A real hidden gem. Pricing is reasonable for what is offered. From beginners to advanced, you will not be disappointed at Teragi Academy!

  We had the pleasure of visiting a friend's brand new gym in Fullerton while in town from Las Vegas. John, Donna, Thomas, and Tony created such a welcoming and efficient training space. This academy not only offers jiu jitsu training but also an afterschool tutoring program. That's a win-win!!!! And despite the gym being brand new the class and open mat my husband and boys attended had a diverse group of practitioners. We had a great time with you all. Thank you so much for allowing us to share the mats with you. Definitely a gym to hit up when in the Fullerton area.
