I travel for work and I was able to train here for a day. Great rolls, lots of knowledge, and very welcoming. Thanks a lot for the hospitality.
Hit up Sunday open mat from out of town great location with parking and good rolls
A great place to drop in and train when I’m in from out of town!
This place might not be the largest bjj gym around but it sure has the best world class coaches. If you want to start your bjj journey right, here is where you should consider.
Prior to enrolling here, my only experience with grappling involved wrestling my toddler-aged children into bed. I mean, if they gave belts for the ability to diaper a toddler while he's sprinting away, I'd at least have be at a brown—my carpets have the stains to prove it, too. Unfortunately, those skills do not translate to Jiu-Jitsu. This means, of course, that I had (and have) a lot to learn. As fate would have it, Ethos JJ is a great place for folks who are in my position. The instructors here are patient and thoughtful. They provide thorough instructions and have always answered my questions comprehensively. The advanced belts are welcoming and encouraging while also being willing to pause sparring and answer questions or suggest alternative techniques. In total, the people really make this place special. It's kind of like with my kids: You put up with a lot of frustrating stuff because of the connection you feel to them. In Jiu-Jitsu, it's not much fun getting smashed or popping an elbow, but the camaraderie carries you through. This is a direct reflection of what Ron, Wendy, Jerry, Filipe and Rodnei have built. Come through and see for yourself.
It is an incredible, well-maintained gym with great coaches and people for optimal jiujitsu training.
at my age (77) I have attended many gyms, studios and various types of extra curricular activities and I can honestly say that i have never learned more or felt better about my time than learning at ETHOS. i stepped on mat on first day knowing absolutely nothing about Jiu Jitsu and knowing no one there, i left first day smiling that i felt great, everyone was beyond gracious, helpful and made me know i wanted to come back the next day. i really can say that i have never finished a class that i didn’t learn something new or ever drove away not feeling better than when i arrived. I would without hesitation recommend (and i have many times) Ethos Jiu-Jitsu. great training academy, great instructors and a super group of students = a very positive experience.
Great gym. Everyone is super friendly and all the coaches are really knowledgeable.
Great place for Jiu Jitsu in the Fullerton and Anaheim areas. My daughters trained here for a few years. They have a great kids program, with classes for older and younger kids. Very experienced coaching staff! Highly recommended for Jiu Jitsu in Fullerton.
Great gym with a lot of experienced coaches. Great for the whole family. They also give you a free trial to try it out. I like that they have lots of classes for beginners and are very welcoming
Great school with a family friendly environment. I highly recommend it. The coaches are very attentive and have a lot of experience
As someone who’s dipped their toes into the world of martial arts, I can’t help but rave about my experience at Ethos Jiu-Jitsu Fullerton. It’s more than just a dojo—it’s a community that wraps you up like a cozy gi.
Ethos is such an amazing BJJ gym! I have been to quite a few gyms prior to Ethos and nothing comes close to the experience you'll receive at Ethos. Ethos is very family oriented and friendly. You won't feel left out or see bias in the gym. I also like the mixture of competitiveness but also relaxed atmosphere. Ethos caters to those who want to compete and for those who simply want to learn self-defense or lose weight. For reference, I have trained at UFC Gyms, Checkmat HQ, and Gracie.
Ethos Jiu-Jitsu to me is a well rounded place to train, if you are looking to compete or just train. The environment there is competitive and family oriented, I highly recommend.
I was in Fullerton for work for a few days. I stopped Ethos to train. Both the staff and the students were very inviting and friendly. I’ve trained for just over 2 yrs and come from a gym with a great culture. Ethos has that same great warm hearted culture. If you are a beginner trying out a gym for the first time or an experienced grappler I would highly suggest Ethos. I was even more impressed to learn of the community outreach programs that this organization has been involved in.
Good mixture of black belt instructors of diverse backgrounds. Many are competitors and ref. Each instructor has his/her style and strengths. Very family friendly. There are a good amount of female members are consistent. Most importantly good vibes from the people I met there.
If I could give 10 stars I would! Hands Down the best BJJ gym in Orange County! Mats are clean and the professors are the best in the game! Ethos truly curates such a friendly and hard working environment. The team and coaches really care about you as an individual. If you are on the fence about giving BJJ a shot, dont just try out a class at Ethos. You wont be dissapointed.
I have been fortunate enough to have been able to train at this school since 2016. Since I have been training I have grown not only in Jiu Jitsu but also my character. Ron and Jerardo along with the whole Ethos team have shown nothing but respect honor and loyalty for all members and guest. I am fortunate to be part of such an inspiring team.
I’ve been going to Ethos for almost two years, training here was my first introduction to BJJ and combat sports. I found out about Ethos through one of my high school friends who has been training here since 2019. I have only great things to say about Ethos, there is a lot of respect and humility amongst everyone who trains here. All of the instructors are very passionate about teaching and helping you improve your Jiu Jitsu.
Great gym culture with world class coaches. You have hobbyist and professional athletes training at all levels with safety in mind. Class schedules are nicely slotted for working professionals that have a 9~5. Amazing kids program with coaches that have patience of a saint. I can vouch for this as my 4 kids ages (5y, 7y, 12y, 14y) have been enrolled for years.
I have been training involuntary yoga at Ethos for almost 5 years now and I can't say enough good things. The environment is friendly and supportive and new people are actively encouraged and made to feel welcome by all. Ron & Jerry (the owners) make serious training fun for everyone - and the quality of instruction here is ridiculous. Ron & Jerry, excellent black belt instructors in their own right, supplement the training continually by bringing in world champion caliber Jiu-Jitsu competitors to augment their instruction. Read that again - WORLD CHAMPION. This is due to their active involvement in the worldwide jiu jitsu community and the relationships they have cultivated with some of the world's best competitors - both men and women. In case you have children, my 8 year-old son and 10 year-old daughter train here as well. Again, Ron & Jerry have found a way to strike the correct balance between fun and serious training for children. They love it and are becoming more competent each time they train. But as a Dad, I love my kids training for a different reason. Jiu-jitsu is hard and kids need to face hard challenges to prepare them for adulthood. If you're on the fence about Jiu Jitsu - do yourself a favor and try out a class. Perhaps the best thing about this place is the people who train here. If you decide to train at Ethos - you should expect to make friends.
Ethos has been an awesome place for me to get better at jiu Jitsu and has a very welcoming community. I would definitely recommend this gym for anyone looking to start or just to relocate.
Ethos Jiu Jitsu hands down is one of the best Jiu Jitsu Gyms in the area. The coaches here have cultivated a great environment that is encouraging, extremely helpful, and fun. Can’t emphasize enough how personal these coaches are, they truly care about the growth of their students on and off the mats. Everyone that trains at Ethos has been very welcoming and great training partners to myself personally. Ethos Jiu Jitsu has Great Coaches, Great People, And Great Vibes, see for yourself.
Ive been training here for a few years now and I cant see myself ever stopping. Every coach here is so supportive, knowledgeable, helping, skillful, and will motivate you to become the best version of yourself. The camaraderie built on these mats remind me of my old baseball days and for anyone looking for a place to train, I recommend you give Ethos a shot. No matter if your goal is to get in better shape, learn self defense, compete, take up a hobby, or simply learn a new skill, Ethos is your home. I’m a little bit of an introvert and the hardest step for me was to get out of my comfort zone to get out on the mats and try BJJ out. I wanted to train BJJ for years but made many excuses and was nervous to start. I ultimately built the courage to do some trial classes at about 5-6 different schools in the area and Ethos was by far the best. I couldnt be happier about my decision to join and I hope this message gets to whoever felt the same way as I did when I first started. If you come here as a new student to BJJ or someone who has prior experience, the Ethos family will welcome you with open arms.
My cousin wanted to train Jiu-jitsu to complement his Judo and convinced me to find a gym with him. We checked out a few and decided to train at Ethos. Been going to Ethos ever since. You will find people of all skill levels and goals, but what makes it different is that the there is a positive atmosphere where you find everyone helping each other and making it a great place to be. The coaches are amazing as they each bring different styles whether you are looking to compete or come to have fun learning in a friendly environment. Stop on by and give it a try, there is a good chance you will find a home here too.
What can I say I’ve been training approximately 4 1/2 years and it has been an amazing experience. My kids also train. It’s definitely a family affair. If you are looking for a place to learn and train jujitsu with great and encouraging coaches stop on by. It’s an awesome community. It’s also a pretty neat place to meet new friends and network. What are you waiting for come give it a try!
Having trained at Ethos for the past 2 1/2 years, I can confidently attest to the exceptional quality of instruction and welcoming atmosphere. From day one, after I moved to the area, they embraced me into a community that values camaraderie and growth. The friendly demeanor of the instructors and fellow students has made every training session enjoyable.
The community is welcoming and friendly, the coaches are involved in every person's training, and the attention to jiu jitsu details is incredible. Additionally, the level of hygiene is a big focus, the mats are always kept very clean.
So blessed to be able to train at Ethos. Grateful for all the awesome coaches, meeting great people to train with, and learning good jiu jitsu in a healthy culture gym. The coaches genuinely care for the students, the kids, and their parents. It's been life changing. Thank you.
Ethos is an exceptional academy, gym and home to many students. Students here are not simply gym members, they belong to a family that will support and take care of them above and beyond the norm. I have been blessed with beginning my jiujitsu journey here in 2019 at the age of 20. Roughly 5 years later Ron, Jerry and Wendy have become like uncles, aunts and brothers. Guiding me through adulthood, celebrating my victories and supporting me through my losses. They have created an environment in which a high level athlete can share the mats with a mother and her son both learning at their own pace, safely and appropriately tailored to their skill level. I would highly recommend Ethos Jiu-Jitsu to any avid practitioner or beginner regardless of their age or ability.
I have been training at Ethos Jiu Jitsu for about 4-5 years now. Not only do they provide amazing training and instruction, but the culture here is unmatched. Ethos Jiu Jitsu has been a source of self-improvement for me physically, mentally, and characteristically. Ethos lives up to the meaning in the name: the distinguishing character, sentiment, moral nature, or guiding beliefs of a person, group, or institution.
Been training at Ethos for about 7 years and love the environment that it brings. It's always a welcoming vibe with newcomers and good rolls for anyone visiting. There's tough rolls for those who want it and easy instruction for those just starting out. The coaches are world class competitors and offer high level coaching for all styles. Come give Ethos a visit!
Great gym. Very family oriented. Me and my two boys signed up and it was the perfect gym for us. The coaches have a great way with kids and truly put in so much love and attention to each child on the mats. Coach Jerry and Ron are amazing people and we look up to them as great role models in our community. Recommend this gym to everyone that asks us about jiu jitsu.
Amazing gym culture, this gym is second to none when it comes to coaching and training schedule. The people are amazing, this is truly the best gym in Orange County
I can in for a free class and did not regret it, ethos is a world class jiu-jitsu gym and it shows in the coaches and the people who come to roll. Coach Ron and coach Wendy are very welcoming people, highly recommend to those on the fence to take the leap of faith!
If you ever thought about trying out BJJ try Ethos in fullerton. Great coaches and friendly environment.
I have been training iver a decade and Ethos is by far the best school ive had the opportunity to train at. The environment is built onstring values and has some of the best most accomplished coaches in jiu jitsu. The training and people I have met the years ive been there has helped me on and off the mats. Try out a class and see for yourself.
I’ve been training here 7 years and can’t think of a single bad thing to say about the coaches and community. They have 5 coaches, each with their own style of jiu jitsu, any style of jiu jitsu you want you will find here!
Hands on teaching with care and love for the art. My 10 year old just started the adventure. Highly recommend
Great school, super good instructors and great vibe
I was traveling for work and dropped in at the recommendation from a friend. I'm really glad I did! Everyone was very welcoming and the instruction was world class. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town. Thank again Ethos Fullerton for the experience!
The best place where you can have good training!!! The good people, good coach’s, place clean! The best!
Ethos is one of those places that make you say "this is it"...super friendly yet professional training environment. The instructors have great skills and knowledge and both kids' and adults' clauses are amazing. There are several options for training in the morning, afternoon and nights. Definitely the place to be if you want to improve your jiu jitsu, compete or just be a tough guy
"I love training at Ethos ! The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, and they provide individualized attention to each student. The facility is clean and well-maintained. The community and support among the students is the best. I highly recommend Ethos to anyone looking for a challenging and rewarding martial arts experience.
Ethos is a fantastic academy with a great culture and even better coaches. If you are considering jiu jitsu, I highly recommend Ethos
Ethos jiu-jitsu has been an extremely important place in my life over the past 2 years. The leadership and classmates attending Ethos have helped my development as a young man and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to train here with such an amazing community. I would like to thank my coaches and training partners for their commitment to themselves and for welcoming everyone who’s joins. Highly highly highly recommend checking this place out whether you’re brand new or experienced.
The culture of this gym is amazing. There are people here who are serious athletes and will roll hard and really challenge you if that's your level AND there are people a little past there prime (ahem... myself included) who are just starting and people don't roll over you, they help you work and get better. Coach Ron, Wendy and Coach Jerry, have created a great place to learn and grow for kids and adults. I brought my son and as I watched, I got hooked too. What I really like is that you come in and start and you have no idea what you're doing, but if you trust the process and show up, before you know it, you're improving and you're changing. It can be difficult, but also a lot of fun. I wasn't sure I could do JiuJitsu... this gym has made it possible and I'm hooked. Give it a shot, it might change your life.
Started training here a month ago and couldn't be happier. Great instruction - all classes run by black belts (Ron and Jerry) - they know their stuff and are very involved/ hands-on and training/ helpful/ quick to share their knowledge. Everyone in the academy is super welcoming to both newcomers and "migrating" higher belts. :) Also, the academy is super clean (mats cleaned/ disinfected throughout the day) which is really nice (and you can't say for all academies..). Good kids program too (WISH my parents got me training at that age...). Highly recommend!
Great gym! First time doing BJJ and was nervous but everyone here was so friendly, kind and welcoming. Check out this gym if you have the opportunity!
My whole family trains here ! Professors Ron and Jerry take the time to really hone in your skills specific to your game. Whether you’re new to JiuJitsu or seasoned, the environment at Ethos is welcoming and safe for everyone.
We Love Ethos Jiu Jitsu! My boys started here 5 years ago and still love it. They not only have learned the art of Jiu Jitsu but have also grown so much in character too! Ron, Jerry and Wendy along with the entire Ethos family have been great mentors and role models for my children.
We have been going to Ethos since 2017! We recently moved and have yet to find a school like them. I'm sure we won't...that's how special they are. Great teaching, good school vibe, everyone has been amazing and they have taught us so much! Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
Great environment if you are getting into bjj. Both instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend this bjj school.
Gym with a family environment and the coaches Ron and Jerry that want to see you grow and will support you on and off the mats. Great people and training partners. You’ll fall in love with the gym as soon as you step in and it will become a place you can call another home. Training here almost 3 years and love it more and beyond!
My wife and I are 41 and attend this academy along with our 12 year old son. Everyone is very nice and welcoming. The coach's are top notch. Highly recommended.
We love the Ethos community. Everyone has been so respectful and friendly. The more advanced students are always willing to help out those still learning. The instructor are talented and patient in teaching.
Friendly coaches and members. Great environment to learn and progress. Started learning a lot more than I thought I would be capable of. Came in to try it out in late February and signed up on the same day. Definitely a great place to train
Very easy to join and start learning, great teachers who are very welcoming and always a good group of fellow students willing to help.
Great instructors and a great JJ gym for beginners to black belts
It's an ABSOLUTELY great place to go for Jujitsu. I've been going for about 10 months and it really feels like we're all a family.
I've been interested into training Brasilian Jiu-jitsu for awhile now and Im so happy to have found such a welcoming and encouraging academy. Head professors Ron and Jerry are very thorough and detailed with their instructions with each technique. This emphasis to details greatly help new students like me to gain confidence in properly executing the moves in drills. Everything we drill then is practiced with open mat to finish the class which for me was the fun about this martial art, figuring out ways to apply our practice in the live sparring. Whether its your first time trying a combat sport or a high level practitioner, this place has it all!
I visit this place during open mat on Saturdays. Nice and super clean gym. Professors Jerry and Ron are very welcoming. Always a lot of great rounds here. Highly recommend this place for training for North Orange County folks.
Came here for for an in-house tournament and an open mat. It's a clean gym with a welcoming and friendly team. I got some good rolls here.
Best school in Fullerton, always enjoy good rolls at Ethos
As a mom in my 40's, I never thought that I would ever train in Jiu Jitsu, let alone love it! The atmosphere is so welcoming and the instruction is so good. Highly recommended!
Great gym with very knowledgeable Brazilian jujitsu black belts. It’s a really friendly environment that teaches self-defense and high-level Bjj for those looking to compete, and for those looking for every day work out. Great atmosphere great people here. I love coming here. Came here a few times to visit and they were always very welcoming
If you are looking for a great environment in which you can grow your martial art skills then this is definitely the spot for you. As a jiu jitsu black belt Jerry and Ron's passions for this beautiful arts shines bright. Great for children or adults this is one of the best jiu jitsu gyms in the area. A family environment that focuses on the continual growth of there students skills. This is the place to go if you want to start jiu jitsu or continue to grow your game. Oss!
Good school ,family friendly ,great coaches and everybody is friendly ,higher ranks help you with techniques ,perfect for families to start training me and my sons train there
Great place to begin or continue to train jiu jitsu! I've been to a couple of other schools before but this is by far the best. Ron and Jerry are great instructors who have a great system from anyone who wants to start jiu jitsu too get in shape, or whether you are looking to compete. You will feel welcomed and at home when you come and check it out!
Best Jiujitsu school in Orange County!! I’ve trained at three other schools and haven’t learned as much compared to this place. Both instructors Ron and Jerry are knowledgeable and teach jiujitsu with such passion and encouragement. I’ve elevated my game higher beyond what I thought I could with their help and guidance. The people there are great to train with as well. There are no egos that make the place intimidating to learn and the school is filled with different people from all walks of life. Both my kids are also students at the kids class and I’ve seen the improvements in their ground game since they’ve started. I highly recommend this school whether you’re a beginner or an advanced grappler.
best place to train jiu jitsu. if you want to get in shape in a friendly environment this is the place to do it. learn self defense and get in shape.
