Team ConneXions Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Team ConneXions has been and incredible blessing to myself and my son. Admin is extremely polite . The environment is family friendly and inviting. My son started tutoring with Professor Wayne over the summer and was dealing with having some anxiety in his 4th grade classroom . Professor Wayne introduced my son to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and his confidence has grown tremendously. He’s becoming more self aware and much more confident in class and is learning how to advocate for him self . He loves the challenge of the training and is disappointed is he has to miss a training session. My son looks forward to his training every week and boasts about it to all of his friends and classmates . Professor Wayne even gifted he an I with a gee and sweatshirt for me to wear with my sons name on it. My son has been approached but other Jiu Jitsu teachers and is vehemently refuses to leave Professor Wayne .This training process has taught him to be relentless but also disciplined. He even won a portion of his robotics competition with the confidence he’s gained .Training also gives him a great work out and he strives to be the best . My entire family is incredibly grateful for Sensei and the confidence he’s given my son . I’ve recommended him to various family members and friends .

Before we bow out of class, our instructor, Professor Wayne Hargrove says, “Practice makes...” Then, in unison, we respond, “Progress.” He taught us that, “Practice Makes Progress.” If you learn from him, you will progress to heights you never imagined. You can feel something special about his academy, Team ConneXions. It is a welcoming and safe place to train. Professor Wayne is a highly competitive black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and Judo with international competition experience. What makes him more unique is that he cares about your well-being, and health, as much as your training. I highly recommend this place. It’s hard to find this kind of attention to detail that Professor Wayne provides. Years ago, I met him while training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). His unusually talented BJJ, and personality, left an impression on me. I took off from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for several years and lost contact with Wayne. I recently decided to do a competition BJJ fight. I felt I needed someone trustworthy and special to help train me. My instincts told me to reconnect with Professor Wayne. I called him and asked for his help. The rest was history. He asked me probing questions about my competition, with emphasis on my safety and my health. Then he crafted a plan. It became clear how special he is as an instructor. He worked with me one-on-one. After watching me spar for a few minutes, he gave me feedback as if he had been watching me for years. I was shocked. In 5 minutes, he corrected something I had been doing for a long time. The feedback was rapid. The sessions led to my training at his academy, Team ConneXions. I remember we were all sparring in class, including Wayne simultaneously sparring with a student. Somehow, he observed all of us spar while simultaneously sparring himself. Then he gave us feedback on what we all did sparring! I trained in places all over the world but never experienced that before. Then he shocked me again. In another sparring session, Professor Wayne was providing individual feedback to students after watching us spar. He once explained, to a student, what that student was thinking that led to difficulty in applying the technique. Wow. He understands his students' thinking behind their actions. He can reveal you to yourself so you can continue to grow. Training at Team ConneXions is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I highly recommend trying it out. Oss!

I have taken classes with professor Wayne for a few months now and I have really enjoyed my time. I love how he switches up the warm ups and makes us do challenging Jiu Jitsu inspired games. He has taught me great and useful techniques and he makes the classes fun. Even though the class is really late at night, he always has great energy. -Daniela :)

I just dropped into my first class with Professor Wayne today. I've been doing jiu jitsu for 8 years and I brought a first timer with me. Professor Wayne's class flawlessly catered to both those who are experienced and those who are day one. The culture was highly respectful, inviting, professional, and friendly! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for next level jiu jitsu or a place to start their journey. 🤙

Professor Wayne is an amazing instructor. Very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. As someone who has been training for 6+ years, all I want to do is learn, learn, learn, from this guy. It’s truly humbling to spar with him too. He is an excellent coach for the casual grappler and competitor. I highly encourage training under him if possible. In just a few classes, he has greatly expanded my understanding about jiujitsu and where I can improve. Very inspiring and insightful instructor for everyone of all ages and levels.
