I am not a BJJ guy and have never done any martial arts in my life. My children, however, showed a real interest in getting involved in BJJ, so I reached out to Luke via email. His timely and genuine response gave me the confidence to bring the children along for a trial, especially knowing my complete lack of experience in martial arts. After just two sessions, both children were keen to commit to the discipline. Now, after two months, I am extremely pleased with the decision to become part of the Taurus Gym community. The classes are exceptionally well supervised and structured, with a great balance of revising existing techniques while introducing and developing new ones. The coaches create an environment where the children are learning, improving and, most importantly, enjoying themselves. There were other gyms closer to me that I contacted when making my enquiries. However, after speaking with Luke and seeing the genuine family-run nature of Taurus Gym, the decision for our family became very clear. I only wish I had got my daughter (10) and son (7) involved sooner. Highly recommend Taurus Gym to any family considering BJJ.
I've trained at a few different martial arts gyms in my life from karate, Muay Thai, MMA and another BJJ gym both in Australia and overseas and Taurus is the shining star of the lot. The facilities are everything you need and always kept clean, but above else, everyone from the owner, instructors and all other students are humble, personable and focussed on a positive training environment. There's no ego, and Taurus is an excellent place to train for all ages and experience. I began training here specifically for the 6am classes and they're the perfect way to start the day. Can't reccommend Taurus enough, thanks to the team for making this place what it is.
Best jiu-jitsu gym in the area! The coaching team are always there to help the students, no matter the skill level. They provide the most welcoming atmosphere from your very first class.
Taurus is an outstanding place to train. The atmosphere is welcoming, friendly, and supportive, with a strong positive culture that makes you feel comfortable from day one. Luke’s coaching is excellent and the team spirit keeps you motivated to improve every session. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great community and high-quality training.
We’ve been taking our eight year old twice a week to Taurus BJJ, and we absolutely love it! The instructors are fantastic—knowledgeable, patient, and great with kids. They spend time before the session building rapport with the kids which makes the kids feel confident and seen. The facility is always clean (glass wiped down, mats cleaned) and well-maintained, and we’ve felt welcomed from day one. It’s such a positive and friendly environment and we've been able to bring our mischievous toddler along to watch. Our son has been learning so much while having fun and that's been the most important aspect for us. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training!
