I’ve had an amazing experience at Rockingham BJJ Academy, definitely the best Jiu-Jitsu experience I’ve had so far! Both Marcel and Laura are excellent coaches, super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely make you feel like part of the family. The atmosphere is amazing, everyone is supportive, and no matter your skill level, you’ll always feel welcome and have the opportunity to learn from the best! I can’t recommend this place enough! Give it a go and you’ll walk away with great friends, awesome memories, and, on top of that, some solid Jiu-Jitsu skills! Thanks so much for everything, guys!!
My 5yo loves the bjj classes. In the beginning he was very shy but Laura and Marcel have great knowledge and assisted him through. They are amazing with the kids and all of them have a great time training together. If you are looking for a friendly environment, I would 1000% recommend.

I've had the privilege of knowing Marcel and Laura for many years through the Australian Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition circuit. As a Head Referee, I've had the opportunity to officiate countless matches involving both of them, from local tournaments through to major championships, across kids, adults, hobbyists, and elite competitors. Over that time, I've seen their consistent commitment to the growth of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Australia through their regular involvement in competitions and their ongoing contribution to the community. From a technical perspective, both as a referee and fellow practitioner, I've also had the chance to train alongside them and watch them compete. Their technical knowledge, professionalism, discipline, and understanding of competition rules and match dynamics have always stood out. Beyond the mats, I've been fortunate to build a long-standing friendship with both Marcel and Laura. They are respectful, humble, and genuine people who carry themselves with integrity in every environment. Their work ethic, dedication, and passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are evident in everything they do. Although Rockingham BJJ Academy is only just beginning its journey, I have no doubt it will become a fantastic academy for the local community. Based on my experience with Marcel and Laura over many years, I'm confident their knowledge, professionalism, and commitment will provide an outstanding environment for students of all ages and experience levels. I highly recommend Rockingham BJJ Academy to anyone looking to begin or continue their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey. The Rockingham community is fortunate to have instructors of this calibre, and I'm excited to see the positive impact they will have on the growth of our sport in Western Australia.
I've know professor Marcel for over a decade and had the pleasure of training and being coached by him. His technical skills and coaching style are fenomenal. Whether you are a beginner wanting to try BJJ for the first time or an advanced student from blue to black belts, you will have a good time under his coaching. Can't wait to visit the gym next time I'm in WA.
Laura and Marcel are amazing coaches! Besides teaching great technique, they’ve created such a welcoming atmosphere. Rockingham BJJ Academy is a very family-friendly spot where everyone feels comfortable, supported, and part of a community from day one.
