  My sons been going to BJJ with Luke for just over 2 months, and he has learnt so much! Luke has a genuine joy for the sport and to teach. My son looks up to him and says his classes are fun and easy to learn. Luke has a calm and laid back way with the kids and I've watched his class grow in popularity over the weeks, the gym is always bustling with kids and adults alike. Submission smokies is a welcoming and safe place to learn and grow your skill.

  I’ve had the pleasure of training alongside Luke back in the day, and seeing how far he’s come with Submissions Smokies is honestly incredible. Luke has always been passionate about BJJ, but now as a coach he’s taken it to a whole new level. He’s patient, caring, and has a real gift for breaking things down so learning feels natural and enjoyable — even when you’re completely new to it. His knowledge of the sport runs deep, and he creates a welcoming environment where everyone feels supported, no matter their level. If you’re in or around Arbroath and looking to train BJJ, I couldn’t recommend Submissions Smokies and Coach Luke highly enough. Brilliant atmosphere, great people, and top-level coaching.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We couldn’t be happier with the kids classes at Submission Smokies! From day one, Luke has been welcoming and attentive with every child. The class provides a balance between discipline and fun, which keeps the kids engaged while also teaching them respect, confidence, and self-control. All 3 of my children love their classes. Their confidence has grown rapidly within class and they are more engaged, not only in their classes with Luke but also at home and school. What really stands out is the sense of community. Luke genuinely cares about each student and the kids support each other like a team. It’s more than just a martial arts class, it’s a place where kids grow both physically and mentally. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a positive and empowering activity for their child!

  Super informative classes with friendly members and coaches. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a new BJJ club or anyone looking to try something new. Very accepting of beginners and newbies.

  Lukey is a fantastic coach. He cares, supports you, and makes classes fun with his cheerful demeanor. It's great how everyone on the team supports each other. Even kids classes leveling up and developing so quickly. I can't recommend him enough.
