I had a great time seeing my niece win 2 silver medals! The announcer and referees kept things moving right along. They had lots of merch and snacks too.
Posted 1 year agoProbably the coolest venue for a jiu jitsu tournament. Best place for Midwest grapplers
SubSpectrum is an incredibly well organized tournament and a great experience for grapplers of all levels.
Hands down the best jiu jitsu competition in the Midwest. The athletes have an opportunity to make a name for themselves in this competition along with lots of media coverage. I recommend this competition to every grappler
My first experience with Sub Spectrum was for summer trials back in June. I was totally blown away by the quality of production and organization! I ended up placing in my division and came back to Iowa in August for the No Gi Championships! Sub Spectrum puts on an amazing event with professional photography and videography, high quality refs and a great ruleset! I highly recommend these events. I’m so excited to compete again in November!
We have participated in two tournaments now with subspectrum. The venue is great and the event is ran so well. They have a great photographer and we always receive such great photos.
Sub spectrum is a great tournament . Jordan takes more care of this than I’ve seen anyone else care for their own tournament. Best referees in the game hands down. The ruleset is very fair and promotes good jiujitsu and he seems to be open to constantly improving it . I would highly recommend this to coaches and school owners as the #1 best tournament to send your students to improve and test themselves. Perfect balance of competitive martial spirit and safety . TLDR: the vibes are immaculate
A great tournament organized by a passionate team. The event is ran well and has always worked to give the best experience to grapplers in terms of money, exposure, media, etc. I recommend this tournament to any competitors in the Midwest.
an exceptional quality of organization, high level content both photo And video available FOR FREE!!! money prizes for athletes, excellent commentatorship. these are the key elements that subspectrum provides to their athletes, that's what elevates Midwest grappling level. cannot appreciate them enough
Have competed at Sub-Spectrum twice and the atmosphere is awesome. It’s not in a high school gym, and the production is next level.
One of the best grappling tournaments in the Midwest. High level competition and setting.
Amazing team with top notch production and organization. This is the best jiu jitsu competition platform in the midwest!
This is one of the best events I have ever competed in, everything is so well organized and they VALUE athletes!!! My husband and me, we are always looking forward for the next subspectrum :D
The subspectrumbjj team does an excellent job with their events, my daughter participated in the past Future Stars tournament and enjoyed it, the format, the staff and the quality of the awards I give them 100%, the Kingdom Warriors family and I are looking forward to November tournament to represent under this program that continues to grow. Subsprectrumbjj continue to grow and we will continue to support
Best tournament in the Midwest! Top notch everything and one we try to never miss!
Great organization, good people, BJJ puts on a great tournament!
Love sub spectrum BJJ, very clean and organized!!!!
As a coach from coaching during the future stars and as an athlete for competing at subspectrum, it was a lot of fun! The tournament ran smoothly and the parents of our youth athletes really enjoyed it. As a competitor, it was really fun competing on the stage and the whole subspectrum crew/staff were great! Looking forward to doing it all over again with my team Nov 9th
Sub spectrum has been amazing from my first tournament to my last. Now my son gets his time to show case his skills in the best BJJ Promotion in Iowa.
Sub Spectrum is the most organized tournament I've competed for. Not to mention the media coverage (video, pictures, social media) they provide offers such a opportunity for competitors to truly make a name for themselves. As a female competitor it also offers some true competition and test of skill level. It's a tournament I plan to be apart of as often as I can. It's worth the drive for me from Minnesota to Iowa.
I’ve been competing at Sub Spectrum since 2020. This is a venue and tournament dedicated to the athletes! Not only will they make sure you have matches, but then you can guarantee some amazing photographs of your matches to boot! Sometimes if you’re lucky, you can even get those amazing videography packages. They love to engage and interact with their grapplers! If you believe in Sub Spectrum, Sub Spectrum will believe in you! They’ve helped lesser know grapplers become better known grapplers! Lots of amazing well known grapplers have competed within this tournament and I guarantee they will produce more and more! My family already has a second generation set of people competing within the organization! Sub Specreum to the moon! The owner / promoter has a cool mustache!
Great tournament host and wonderful team behind the scenes. My girls hasn't been able to actively participate until now due to low prospects for their divisions. Refunds were promptly processed as needed. I've been following their growth and have seen the kind interactions with our Kingdom Warrior Jiu Jitsu Academy competition team that has been participating in several of their events so far. My girls are excited to make their Sub Spectrum Future Stars debut soon because the tournament has grown enough to attract more prospects in their divisions.
This tournament helped me get my name out on the martial arts scean. It not only got my wins documented with professional media coverage but lead to connections in the MMA world that got me 2 titles. My martial arts career wouldn't be were it is today without this tournament.
Posted 1 year agoAwesome Promotion. Each event is better than the last! Great for growing as a competitor, the photo/media coverage is second to none! Always looking forward to the next Sub Spectrum Competition!
First bjj tournament. Great experience!. Been to many more since. Maybe again Nobember 9th!
Sub spectrum was my first BJJ tournament ever and it set the bar for other organizations. Great atmosphere, tough competitors in all divisions, and has provided iowa, and the rest of the Midwest, a premier event to look forward to.
The absolute best tournament I've ever had the pleasure of doing. They run on time and keep everyone updated on changes to brackets, times, or mat changes to keep things running smoothly. The owner and everyone who works for Sub Spectrum care about the grapplers more then the event it's self they want everyone to have a good time! On top of all that they have amazing media they get thousands of photos for all divisions and 4k videos for there advanced divisions! Lastly they help grapplers get there names out there like Keith Krikorian, Jacob Couch, Austin Daffron, and William Tackett. If you're in the Midwest and have yet to go or be apart of a Sub Spectrum event do your self a favor and attend!
As a person that has been to many jiu jitsu events, it’s clear that Sub Spectrum cares in a whole different way. Competition level, atmosphere, efficiency, and content are all top notch, and you can really feel the community at each event, even with 400 competitors. Des Moines, Iowa might be out of the way for some, but if you choose to make the trip just once then it might just end up on your favorite tournament short list.
Sub Spectrum BJJ puts on a fantastic tournament! We were so impressed by how well-organized everything was, and it created such a positive and encouraging environment for the kids. The energy at the tournament was amazing! This was our sons' first time competing (they're 7 and 10), and they loved it! They both had some tough matches but showed great sportsmanship, which was awesome to see. We were impressed by the level of talent at the tournament - it was inspiring to see so many dedicated young athletes. Franklin Jr. High was a great venue, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the day. We attended the tournament during the summer, and we can't wait to go again later this year! Thanks to everyone at Sub Spectrum BJJ for making it such a great experience!
By far the best Jiu Jitsu competition in the midwest! My son has competed in several of the big name tournaments across Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa and nothing compared to Sub Spectrum. Every aspect was super professional. The venue was great. And it attracts the best competition from Des Moines and all throughout Iowa. Absolutely loved our experience!
