I've been doing jiu jitsu training for about five months, and I'm here from San Diego. I learned a lot in the 6 AM class, and Coach Colton is an excellent coach. I picked up new skills both with and without gi, and the atmosphere was like family. I'll train at this gym if I ever return to New Jersey.

I have been attending this academy for the past year and my experience has been nothing but amazing. The owner and head coach Professor Rich is helpful, professional, kind and friendly who will treat you like a family! Highly reccomended for whoever wanna start learning MMA and self-defense. Also special shouthout to Wrestling coach Mike, he is just an amazing caoch who will push you through your limits which makes you better and stronger every time you finish his class. Also all the students are so nice and friendly! Come and get you some self-defense!!!

I attended classes at Strive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a short while thanks to the recommendation of a friend of mine whose a regular there. I had a great time with everyone, professors and students alike, welcoming me and making it a tough but valuable experience. Highly recommended if you're looking for a place to learn/brush up on Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, or just want a place to get into better shape physically and mentally.

I've trained at Strive BJJ for years, and it’s made a huge difference in my progress. I went from competing at the intermediate level to winning at the expert level, thanks to the high-quality coaching and training environment. The other students are all great people, and whether you're training to compete, learning self-defense, or just trying to get in shape, I’ve seen people accomplish their goals here. It’s also a great place for women and offers kids’ classes too, so it’s a solid choice for the whole family. Highly recommend it.

Was away for the weekend at a wedding and dropped in for a class. The culture, people, and class was amazing. Super welcoming and engaging. If I am ever in the area again, I will be back. Thanks to everyone at Strive for a great experience.

I’ve been a member of strive bjj for two years and it’s the second gym I’ve been a part of. Easily one of the best decisions I have made is starting my BJJ journey at Strive. Professor Rich and all the coaches provide detailed insight into the techniques they teach. I’ve been training at Strive for a little over a year now and could not be happier with my experience. Strive is the third academy I’ve trained at due to moving cities, and it is by far my favorite. Professor Rich is an outstanding and patient instructor supported by a great group of upper belt coaches. BJJ is a journey, and I am happy that I started here. Professor Rich and the coaches are amazing at what do and are patient on how they teach the class. Solid place to train. Great instruction and great jiu jitsu. A wide variety of classes set for different schedules for those early morning guys, lunch grind, and right after work. Variety of different people to train with so you get a ton of different looks. Family friendly environment also. Professor Rich runs a great academy and culture.

I have been bringing my son to the kid’s classes for a few months and can’t say enough good things about it. The space is always very clean and the staff are incredible. There are 3 instructors per kid’s class, and all are very patient and gentle, while leading the kids and keeping them engaged. I would highly recommend Strive for anyone looking for a safe environment for themselves or their child to learn, build confidence, and get in better shape.

My daughter has been going to Strive for a little over a year and this place is amazing! All of the staff are friendly and approachable, and they always make sure that newcomers feel welcome. Classes are broken down into age groups, and from what I’ve seen, everything they teach to each age group seems age appropriate and engaging. They also have an open mat day where different age groups can intermingle and kind of check out each other’s skills. All in all, I would definitely recommend this school, no matter what skill level you’re at!
Great with kids and plenty of classes from the week to choose from. My son loves his nickname coach Brad gave to him when he started like 3 years ago “king warrior”. He gets shy but this built his confidence when he was done class and he felt accomplished. This is a community that is strong and are great mentors for the children! I never did the adult classes but it looks like fun and are very welcoming if your an adult looking to try jiu jitsu !
I have trained all over the world with some of the best instructors and at the best academy’s in the game. This place ranks right up there with the big hitters. I transferred to Strive from my original academy in February of 2021. As a new student to the academy, Professor Rich and the coaches welcomed me wholeheartedly. Professor and the coaches emphasize the success and development of the students regardless of rank. Strive BJJ is a Jiujitsu academy filled with enthusiasm, comradery, and competition. Students do not hesitate to ask questions, or to ask for reinforcement on a particular move we may be learning that week. When you become a student under Professor Rich, you will be pushed, you will be tested, but you will succeed.
Strive is the best BJJ academy in the area. Not only are professor Rich and the other instructors at the gym knowledgeable and professional they also break things down in a way that’s easy to follow. I’m a stay at home mom, I’ve done it all. A few months ago I decided to start training jiu jitsu, I hear everyone say “jiu jitsu changed my life” well I’ve been looking for something to change my life or give me some purpose after becoming a mom and all that comes with becoming a mom. When you register the class, read the contract carefully, Don't register it with automatic payment. It it hard to stop the class. read the contract carefully and make sure no auto payment. Except that, everything is ok. I talk with Mr Sin, and he try to understand customer side and solve the conflict. I would say thanks to Mr. Sin's effort and care for customer. I hope customers enjoy Jiu Jiitsu with him without any trouble. Thanks again your customer care.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will 1) get you in shape if you put in the work, 2) introduce relationships into your life, 3) teach you valuable self defense concepts, 4) strengthen you mentally after moving forward from defeat, 5) and much more. Professor Sin is the definition of an expert in the art, and he fits the term "professor" perfectly. Jiu jitsu changed my life for the better, so there's no reason i CAN THINK of to not recommend this school to anyone willing to get started. Try it out, I doubt you'll regret it.

As a mental health and psychiatric nurse, I deal with the potential of violence every time I clock in for work. I can attest that BJJ taught by Prof. Rich Sin at Strive will work in a real life self-defense situation. I've used it numerous times to keep myself, my co-workers, and my clients safe. I started at Strive BJJ in January, 2015. At that time, I was a 255 lbs lawyer with an insatiable food-addiction (weight increasing each month), with increasing respiratory and health problems (cholesterol, high blood pressure). My doctor said I needed to get these things under control, and fast. During my first class at Strive BJJ, I vomited during warm-up exercises, because I was so out of shape. The instructor, Rich Sin, was very encouraging and supportive and got me to continue on. His words of encouragement and support--as well as those of my fellow students and teammates-- helped me to persevere and continue. At first it was very hard, but I eventually got into the swing of things. Fast forward to November, 2016. I'm now 185 lbs and competed in my first Jiu Jitsu Tournament. I'm thinner than I've been in a decade. My cholesterol is excellent, my blood pressure is amazing, and I have more energy than I've had since high school. I'm more confident in my appearance than I've been since high school. My abdominal muscles are even starting to show----this, after living for a decade with a Homer Simpson like pot-belly. I feel like a new man. I attribute this not only to the amazing workout and life-style afforded by Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but also to Professor Rich Sin, our coach and teacher. He's always there for his students. Always encouraging us, always pushing us to be better. And our improvements take place not only in the confines of the dojo, but in all aspects of our life. I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for Professor Rich. He's made a profound difference in my life and I thank him from the bottom of my heart. He's the best!
