Fantastic Uni gym. If you are eligible for the student or external student discount, then this gym is well worth the price 👍. Great community vibe (made more friends here than from my own course 🤣) and friendly staff, S&C room and sauna/steam room are top notch, weight machines are decent. Only downsides are that it gets busy at times, especially when first semester kicks in, and the gym rules can be quite strict at times. Overall, this gym definitely enhanced my student experience and is a great addition to the uni.

I recently assisted with the delivery of a large fitness event at Strathclyde Sport and have nothing but good things to say about the staff and the venue. The staff on the day were extremely helpful and professional. They made light work of the setup of the hall, assisted with guiding almost 100 people into the hall and were on hand throughout the day to assist with any issues. The venue is modern, very clean, packed with halls and equipment for various sports and fitness activities, and was easily accessible for our attendees with various disabilities and mobility issues. I'll definitely be in touch for future events.

Gym has great selection of equipments and is decently spacious. Weekends are less busy so can get maximum use with no waits, however, lots of students on the evenings so waiting times longer. Swimming pool is decent but has quite a few slips. Changing rooms are spacious and clean.

PLEASE make it so that non members don't need to contact a member they are going to be with to come collect them from the entrance. People doing sports are NOT looking at their phones and it makes it difficult to contact them and therefore losing time from actually playing any of the sports.

The gym has great facilities, but it’s very clearly tailored to students. In December I paid £46.10 (the normal membership) despite the gym being closed for 6 days and operating on reduced hours (11–6) for the rest of the period. With a standard 9–5 job, this made it practically impossible to attend for a large part of the month. Even in normal times, access is restrictive unless you don’t need to be in the office by 9am. Peak hours are extremely crowded, and the music is very loud throughout the day. Classes are mostly scheduled during weekday working hours, and Pilates — one of the main reasons I joined — now has timings incompatible with most full-time jobs. If you’re a student, this gym is probably good value. However, if you’re a full-time professional with no access to membership discounts, I’d strongly discourage joining, as the cost, timetable, and overall environment don’t offer good value for money.
