I stumbled upon Brian Stanley, Kru Brian - Stanley Combatives, from hearing him on 98 Rock, The Morning Show with Justin, Scott, and Spiegel, talking about Fred Mastro (someone I had been following on YouTube for awhile, and always wanted to learn from). I thought to myself "maybe I'll reach out to him...what do I have to lose...probably won't hear from him anyway".
I got a call from Brian the same day. Within a half hour of talking with him, his humility helped dilute my "shock and awe", we set up our first private lesson, met the following week, and I fell in love with his teachings.
Since then, and quickly-after to be honest, Brian became a mentor, a role model, a friend, a best friend, a brother, my family. His humility only has one challenger and that is his expertise. You won't hear it from him, because he is still, and always be, a student in his eyes....again, "humble city".
His gym and his team are the best!! Whether you are a beginner or an expert, his team, his family, is the one to seek. There is a broad range of classes based on skill, broad areas of teachings (Muay Thai, Filipino Dirty Boxing [Santukan/Panantukan], and -THE FIRST- U.S. Representative of Mastro Defense System, MDS Maryland), and a family, one-for-all-all-for-one mentality. One would be foolish to not seek Brian and his team out.
