I cannot imagine training anywhere else in the area. The instructors have trained with some of the best in the world and competed many times at the highest level. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, or what your fitness level is, you can always count on SBJJ to be a skilled, friendly, and clean environment to bring out the best version of yourself!
It’s a great atmosphere with a welcoming and friendly environment. The professor is very knowledgeable about his craft and has a flexible teaching style. People will choke you for free.
What an experience! Its exciting and humbling all at the same time. These professors know what theyre talking about and they show you step by step by step. I typically dont buy into the "We are family here" but, it really does have that feel! If youre thinking about, make the jump! I did.
I can’t say enough good things about Springfield BJJ and Brian. My son started here about a year ago and it was such a good decision. He has more confidence in himself now and he is continuing to grow. This program is about much more than learning the sport of jiu jitsu. It is also about family and friendship. It has been the best program for all of our family!
Good fun, good fitness, good people. All around cool scene. Added bonus is self defence skills.
Springfield Brazilian Jiujitsu offers high quality training in a clean environment .
Super clean gym, super nice people, and super sound technical Jiu-Jitsu. Want to learn how to protect yourself? Wanna be a world class athlete? Wanna join a community that embraces you? wanna place that you can try something new with your kids? What ever you're trying to accomplish Springfield BJJ can help you every step of the way
Best BJJ in the area and I have tried them all. Clean facilities and awesome people. Highly recommended for all ages and skill levels.
We take our 3 kids to Springfield BJJ and love the coaches, environment, and the supervised training they receive! Great place, hands down.
There is no better place to train, learn, and grow for Jiu Jitsu than at Springfield BJJ. Come in to start your journey today and leave with a family tomorrow.
Been training here for a few years now, never felt more at home than I do here. Love the confidence that I've procured and love the people I've come to call family.
This is not only a place to learn Jujitsu. This is a family of amazing coaches, teammates & friends. It's wonderful when you find something your child begs to attend instead of begs to stay home. It's a great place to learn, train & grow for all ages!
Great team at Springfield BJJ! Great place to train. It’s clear they truly care about the kids and provide a great environment for them to learn and grow.
Great gym, amazing coaches! Fantastic community for our kids. Would highly recommend!
My son loves going to Springfield BJJ. It has helped so much with his ability to pay attention and make friends. He loves learning new skills and has fun, too!
I was able to stop by while in town for work and received great instruction with specific details on how to make the techniques work along with what not to do. Check them out.
The owner, Brian, is great with teaching kids. There are other coaches that help with the kids' classes and do a great job as well. My kids really enjoy the classes, and there are GI and no Gi options several times a week. Great value for the membership cost too.
Great environment! They were very welcoming when I dropped in recently and the lesson was thorough and detailed. Would recommend!
I’ve been apart of the BJJ community in Springfield for about two years now and SBJJ is by far the most active and caring school in our local area. They have very knowledgeable professors who are willing to help you during any part of your journey. This sport is humbling on a good day, and having people who truly care for your wellbeing and the overall health of the BJJ community is outstanding.
High-level jiu-jitsu taught by professional and friendly instructors. The facility is clean. The people are friendly and very welcoming. There's a lot of talented people on the mats willing to help anyone at any time. There's tons of mat space. A workout space with a knowledgeable instructor. Showers and dressing rooms are also very clean. Tons of parking for big classes.
This gym is at a very high level and you will notice major improvements in your game/skills for sure. Great gym for those who want to get in shape all the way for those who want to be a competitor. Great instructor, great detailed instructions, great culture, and this sparked a journey that I will carry until I can’t train no longer. Thanks Brian and thank you all🤘🏼
Great place, great people! Started Kettle Bell training with Nick 1 month ago! Toning and moving better. 60 year old lady that is happy. Best place in Springfield for weight/work out training. Watching BJJ training is awesome. I even learned a few things. Nick is great trainer. Makes sure right moves and work out is done to my needs and capability. The BJJ training is awesome. I can see why so many come here. Staff is always polite, students are polite. Nick and Brian will hook you up with great training. I can’t thank them enough.
First of all, this is the cleanest gym I've trained at over the last three and a half years. A lot of effort is taken to make sure that it's a safe place to train. Bring a pair of sandals, so you don't have to fiddle with sneakers if you have to leave the mats. Jiu Jitsu can be super intimidating at first, but Brian breaks it down into manageable steps and explains not only the "how" but also the "why". I'll be the first to admit that I was nervous going in, but I've found that Jiu Jitsu hasn't just improved my physical health; it's been good for my confidence and mental health too!
Amazing facility and instruction! The gym is very clean and tidy with fantastic training partners.
Granddaughter is close to completing 20 sessions. So far, so good.
Brian is an outstanding instructor! He’s very knowledgable and really has a deep commitment to all of his students. He also cares for his student’s safety and privacy, which is highly important to me as a parent. Very clean environment and my son absolutely LOVES being at this school! Highly recommend Brian to anyone wanting to learn BJJ, but especially if you have a child. We’ve been other places and Springfield BJJ is by FAR superior to any other instructors in the Springfield/Nixa area!
Just completing first month. Updates to come. Granddaughter loves the fact that she has met several other 8 yo girls to train with.
After one session I already feel like this is the place to be. Very inviting and great sense of community. As someone who was hesitant about trying BJJ and an absolute nervous wreck everyone made me feel comfortable right away. Hey I might not of known everything that was going on, but I felt included and had a great time. Signed up and will be going back.
My last two semesters of college were the toughest I had. Jiu Jitsu gave me an escape from the chaos and I'd like to thank everyone at the school, especially Brian Stuebner, for the countless hours dedicated to teaching and training. I was a little unsure of BJJ when I enrolled last summer in the midst of the pandemic. Springfield BJJ welcomed me and gave me community in a time where I truly needed it. In addition to solid community, I sincerely believe this school has the baddest grapplers, best teaching, and the most well-represented presentation of jiu jitsu in the state. So, thank you to everyone at Springfield BJJ for creating that environment.
I’ve been training at this academy since 2017 and have only had great experiences both with the instructors and fellow students. Springfield BJJ has an intentionally cultivated atmosphere that resonates a commitment to world class jujitsu while remaining warm and welcoming to anyone who comes in the door.
As a "new" practitioner it is daunting to explore schools and their micro cultures. I love Springfield BJJ because from the beginning I was welcomed and was treated like part of the family. It is amazing to grow in such a supportive community. It is amazing to be surrounded by such experience and knowledge. Thank you Springfield BJJ, thank you to all its members.
Springfield BJJ is a great school and the instruction is excellent. I learned a lot about myself in the few short months I was there. I can't wait to go back!
We have visited many times, always treated great , got great training and the place is clean!
I love training here. Brian and Nic push us to be our best, while teaching us solid fundamental technique. There are lots of great training partners to roll with, who have the right attitude and skill to help everyone get better.
I started training in BJJ in 2005 while I was in the Marine Corps. I've trained at top tier gyms around California including Team Quest in Oceanside. When I moved to Springfield in 2016 I immediately started searching for a gym in town that I could train at. After looking at multiple places and discovering quickly that they were not at the level of professionalism, expertise, and pedigree that I wanted in the gym, I ended up walking into this place. Springfield BJJ is, hands down, the best gym in the area. I would say that, although it is smaller and doesn't have the celebrity clout of Team Quest, the instruction, the instructors, and the other people who train here are as good, and in many cases better!
Although my training at Springfield BJJ was short, the people were great, student and teacher both. They have a structured program that allows for flexibility and individual advancement.
Springfield BJJ is hands down the best training facility I have ever been to! Super clean, spacious, and filled with awesome training partners. Professors Brian and Nick teach valuable lessons that extend beyond the mat and I am proud to be a part of this school.
Since day 1 I've been met with a smile every time I go in. Everyone is friendly and the place has a great vibe. The instructors are cool and very knowledgeable. Super clean, too.
Great group of people and great atmosphere. If you're thinking of trying out BJJ, this is the place to go to.
Professors Brian Stuebner and Nick Lewis and the other instructors have cultivated a clean, safe, professional, and friendly environment. Springfield BJJ offers a variety of classes for all ages and skills levels at a variety of times. I couldn’t ask for more out of a place to train.
I started my ju jitsu journey mid February 2021 and have greatly enjoyed it so far. Professional instructors and clean facility that motivates you to have a desire to grow in the sport.
This academy is fantastic. The facilities are very clean, the students are all friendly and receptive to newcomers, and professors Brian and Nick are great teachers. The students all share a feeling of pride in belonging to such a great school and it shows during classes. It doesn’t matter your age or experience, drop in for a class and see what you can learn. I’m so glad I took the first step, you will be too.
Springfield BJJ is hands down the best place in our area to learn Brazilian jujitsu! Professor Brian is what I would call a master of his craft. A skilled jujitsu competitor himself and great teacher! I cannot recommend these guys enough for the whole family!
Great place to train. The people here are friendly and Brian is a very knowledgeable instructor.
Professor Brian and Professor Nick are both accomplished BJJ competitors and coaches. Their teaching method ensures anyone can learn BJJ in a welcoming and safe environment. The facilities are top notch and extremely clean. Mats are cleaned between every class, which is a huge plus!
Juijitsu is a life changing experience that will help you find the best version of you!
Professor Brian is very knowledgeable and professional and has created a family environment that still keeps a high level of martial arts training.
This is hands down the place to train in Springfield MO. Knowledgeable instructors, clean facility, and a welcoming group of people.
Springfield BJJ is the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu this area has to offer. Large mat space, clean environment, great teachers, lots of classes to choose from, open 7 days week, and a welcoming team environment. I love everything about this BJJ school!
First time I have ever experienced anything like this and it has been amazing. The people are friendly, my instruction i receive is super clear and easy to understand. The mats are very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone.
If you’ve ever contemplated jiu jitsu, are looking for a new academy, or just want to drop in one night please visit Springfield BJJ. I trained here for several years and this is an ideal academy. Brian is a coach, friend, and goes above and beyond for his students. The instruction is precise, technical, and applicable to build an ideal jiu jitsu foundation. Springfield BJJ represents what an academy should, with a warm and friendly environment that will give you skills both on and off the mat. You will make new friends, get in superb shape, and have a place to call your own. You won’t regret visiting and the doors are always open. Please do yourself a huge favor and drop in. You won’t regret it!
You will not find a better place to learn jujitzu. They are clean, laid back, and completely informative. You will feel right at home as a kid or as an adult.
I've trained a few different places and Springfield BJJ is the best academy by far. I have a ton of respect for Professors Brian and Nick. They make the classes challenging and fun, and they explain the techniques simply. The facility has a huge training area that's very clean. I also like training here because we do barbeques and team dinners throughout the year, and I've made some great friends here. I definitely recommend this place. I'm happier and healthier since I started training at Springfield BJJ. Come in and try a class!
I've attended this gym for almost 1 year. It was the sanitation and cleanliness that really convinced me to try out my first class with this gym. If an owner is going to go the extra mile to keep things clean and safe, then I reasoned it would be worth trying out. I was hooked after the first class. The friendships and community built around this gym helped pull me through a tough year. 2020 wasn't so bad because I had jiu jitsu to look forward to. With the support of my doctors, medical team and professors I was able to safely train and modify my workouts through 40+ weeks of pregnancy. I credit my wellbeing, my health and my baby's health to the support I received from my Professors and the good folks at Springfield BJJ.
I’ve always thought I would enjoy ju jitsu and always let some form of fear get in my way. Per usual I dealt with a lot of my classic anxiety issues but thankfully professor Brian helped me feel comfortable, capable and even let me partner up with a brown belt (the infamous Allen Gibson 😍) for my fist class. I’ll be honest, I was super nervous, anxious but also excited. I didn’t want to embarrass myself, our kids and especially Allen. Warm ups were the biggest challenge (this has sent me down a you tube worm hole of ju jitsu warm up videos😳). But let me tell you- I overcame a lot of fear by just trying and doing my best and now I can’t wait to get back at it. The main motivation for starting regular classes was to spend time with my family in a fun and active way. ❤️ I had the best time with my family that night!!!❤️ I’m so looking forward to regular classes and being part of a supportive community that has so many talented and dedicated people in it. 😁 Thanks for a great first class Springfield BJJ!!!
Good people with really good jiu jitsu and a nice facility!
My family has been training at Springfield BJJ for several years and it is truly an incredible gym! Very clean and professional. Excellent coaches and kids program! They will welcome you into the community like family. Definitely check it out!
World class Jiu Jitsu, friendly people, and the cleanest facility in the area!
Clean, family friendly, good people, great jiu jitsu! Been coming here for five years and after training all over the world I will hold my roots here forever! Come and try a class, bring your kids! Very knowledgeable and great prices!
I love the people and the coaches here. A fun, friendly environment, with a lit of technical jiu-jitsu. They mix in self defense with sport jiu-jitsu. I've had the best jiu-jitsu experience at SBJJ. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
I started training with a women's only class in January, with self defense in mind. I had no idea how BJJ could impact not only my level of safety, but also my self worth, confidence, muscle toning, weight loss and attitude toward life in general. The group at BJJ is more like a family, with a bonus of a newly expanded facility to do your training. The instructors have a passion to share their knowledge about BJJ and truly want to see you succeed. They are empathetic, supportive and create an atmosphere of respect, and fun too. I hope more women join our BJJ family. It's the best decision I've made for myself and my family. See you on the mats!
Get on these mats! All of the instructors are incredibly helpful. The same goes for fellow students. Springfield BJJ provides an incredibly fun atmosphere in which to train. Whether you want to compete, learn to defend yourself, or just get a really great and fun workout in, this is the place for you! Plus they offer a great kids program and a women's program as well! The school is also growing like crazy right now. They've recently doubled their square footage, and added all sorts of new amenities. You get a sense of sheer professionalism when you walk in. So, walk in! See for yourself! Hope to see you on the mats soon!
I've only been training here for about 3 months now, and I have to admit I was a little nervous about starting a martial art and beginning training at almost 30, that being said, I have enjoyed every minute on the mats from day one. Everyone here is super cool and knowledgeable and has been helpful and understanding from day one. I just wish I had gotten started years ago. I highly recommend Springfield BJJ to anyone interested in jiu-jitsu, self defense, or just an interesting way to stay or get in shape. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can and continuing my jiu-jitsu training here for years to come.
Best Jiu Jitsu school in the area for sure.
I've been coming to Springfield BJJ for about 5 months now and it is quite honestly the best experience I've ever had. Knowledgeable, helpful, supportive instructors with no ego training. You'll be amazed at how in shape you'll be on top of receiving incredible training and skills!
Being brand new can be a bit scary, but I'm extremely impressed with how welcoming everyone has been at this school. The women's program is outstanding and the facilities are top notch. Recently expanded and remodeled for even more options, including a sports massage therapist. Amazing place, amazing people. If you're looking for a place to train, you've found it.
Best place to train jiujitsu in Springfield. Good people, good technique, lots of rolls.
I have trained at other jiujitsu schools before, and Springfield BJJ is one of the best schools I've been to. Clean, friendly, and high level instructors, Springfield BJJ is the place to be.
Brian and all of the men and women at Springfield BJJ really made me feel welcome. As a new student of BJJ I didn't know what to expect. There are no tough guys with big egos. Just some very skilled athletes who are all about making everyone better.
Great academy with high level instruction, active competitors, a friendly and welcoming environment, clean mats, strength training, a growing women's class, and still more!
I've only been coming for about 6 months now but I can assure you that big things are happening at Springfield BJJ. Everyone is super laid back and easy to get along with. The mats are cleaned everyday and there's a new area for strength and conditioning as well. Everything about the place is top notch.
To put it plainly this place is Amazing. This is a place where Anyone is welcome, from the beginner who knows nothing about martial arts to higher level people wanting to improve their game! Want to lose weight? This will do it! Above all the technique, above the great instructors and above the nice facility...are the people. You will make lasting friends here and the people really care. This isnt some muscle head gym, but the water is indeed deep :) so come try it!
Welcoming women's only class. Clean facilities. Patient instructors.
I have trained here awhile. The gym is kept very clean with the mats being cleaned after every class, the daily instruction is top notch with high level instructors from all over the nation being flown in multiple times per year to elevate it even further, but the best part is the welcoming atmosphere of learning and improvement that the students have helped create here. My home away from home.
I love how they immediately get to do the practical application. I would like to see more direction and feedback given to the younger kids as they work through techniques each night.
I trained here for a year, It was great at the beginning but after a end of the year I got to know Brian and found out that he is extremely unprofessional and more like a tyrant and egotistical . He will have no problem yelling at you in front of the whole class to embarrass and belittle you. Me and other have experience that several times . I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. This sport is amazing it's sad that he claims to be a good mentor and a teacher .
Brian is terribly unprofessional…. Absolutely embarrassing behavior in front of his students.
Since I had not used the bathroom, nor really even knew where it was ... it's funny that is what is coming up as the reason. Again. In all the other professional gyms I have been in, I was welcomed by someone from the gym. Greeted. Given the waiver to sign. Explained where everything was. I had come from out of town. Waited two hours while it rained to come to the gym. There was no one to explain anything to. The time of the class wasn't actually the time of the class. Not sure how else you can explain, but bad manners, bad leadership, and now ... actually telling lies. I walked from the front door, through the main area, into the changing area. Saw the bathrooms, and then set my bag down by the tables... BECAUSE IT WASN'T OBVIOUS. And, no one helped. The excuses are pretty funny though. At some point, we have to grow up as leaders and as business owners. You broke my heart tonight man. It's such a simple thing to give a little grace, and help someone new. You didn't do that. Instead, you did the opposite. The bully black belt. Exactly what BJJ is not about.
