Myself, my husband, and daughter have been going to their morning workout class 4 days a week for over a year now. Every morning it is a fun, challenging workout. We love this gym!

Ben, Char & the whole crew at Southside are truly masters of their craft. They are incredibly passionate about what they do & their aura is absolutely infectious! Genuinely going above & beyond every day to make you feel comfortable while simultaneously pushing you past your limits with each & every workout. So if you are looking to shatter your plateau, conquer your next challenge or simply try something new, Southside is definitely the gym for you!!!

Amazing gym and community! I started going to the Strength and Conditioning class at Southside after years of lower back pain and tweaking my knee backpacking. I struggled with some basic movements for a while but within 6 months, I was able to double my weight in a lot of the lifts. My back and knee pain is now gone and I'm also a stronger hiker and skier as well because of this class. Ben does a great job at creating well rounded workout plans that can be tailored to all fitness levels and modified for injuries. Plus it's so nice to not have to plan my workouts anymore. Highly recommend Southside to everyone!

I’ve been going to Southside Combat for about four or 5 months, 3-4 days a week. I participate in the strength training classes which has been a real encouraging way to get back into weightlifting and finding community. They’re about an hour of strength training and cardio based workouts that change every 3-4 weeks. I get stronger every week and feel a lot more confident in my body’s ability which is helpful in my line of work. The coaches all have great personalities and keep the challenge of going to the gym more fun. I really enjoy this gym and recommend it for anyone at any level especially because I know the workouts are strategically made and it takes a mental load off when I don’t have to think about it.

Me and my family have tried a few gyms here in flagstaff and none come close to Southside. We’ve been attending the morning weight class with Ben for about a year now and not a bad class sense. We love how family oriented the class is and how much Ben actually cares about you and your gym progress. If you are looking for a gym Southside is definitely the best option!!

Outstanding gym. You will work really hard, learn a ton, and walk out a different and better person than you walked in. Knowledgeable and humble instructors who are still learning and improving themselves. They are respectful of students’ limitations while also pushing each student to challenge themselves and get stronger, faster and healthier! Come try this gym out!!

I can’t recommend Southside Combat Academy enough! The training here is truly top-notch and caters to everyone, whether you’re a complete beginner or more experienced. You can move at your own pace, which is great for building confidence. I personally take the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) classes and have loved every minute of it. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, and the class participants create a welcoming environment that makes every session enjoyable. I’ve learned so much, not only about BJJ but also about myself through the training. I’ve also enrolled my 5-year-old, and he’s had an amazing experience as well. The coaches are fantastic with kids, and it’s great to see how much fun he’s having while learning discipline and new skills. Southside Combat Academy is a community of supportive people that I’m grateful to be a part of. Highly recommend!

Great gym, The owners are actively involved, and the rest of the instructors are excellent. I quit for a while because of injury, and checked out some other gyms but nothing compared so I’m back.

We’ve had two kids in Ben’s programs for a few years. Fabulous gym for kids and teens (as well as adults). Ben is a pillar of leadership for youth. His programs are built on integrity and excellent instruction.

I wish I could give Southside a billion stars. I go to the strength and conditioning classes. Charlotte and Ben are both super knowledgeable and very generous with that same knowledge. The classes have the best energy, the gym is always super clean and I always feel supported as well as safe at Southside.

I take the Muay Thai class here at southside. I have nothing but love for the class. Our Kru holds an incredible wealth of knowledge and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to learn from him. All the fighters in my class are humble but absolute killers. They push everyone to be their best and give their all while being patient with new comers and ensuring that they're comfortable. I tend to struggle on the social side of things but everyone here makes it easy to integrate into the team. I love this gym.

Great coaches, even greater teammates. It’s easy and welcoming to walk in and try any class. Competition teams or just a good workout, it’s a fun community and an enjoyable way to move your body. Boxing, Muy Thai, Jiu Jitsu, weightlifting, kids classes, and more! You'll show up feeling nervous, and leave feeling included and fulfilled, and the doors to a new level of fitness will be opened.

I absolutely love Southside! It’s a place where you throw punches while making friends. Not only do they have legit trainers who could make a couch potato a roundhouse pro, but it's also a lifting haven. You'll find yourself squatting weights, doings tons of cardio, and throwing jabs in an atmosphere that's like a squad of friends training to be superheroes. Whether you're perfecting your right hook or aiming for a PR on a deadlift, this place has classes that'll push you just enough. It's like the Avengers' HQ for martial arts enthusiasts and gym junkies alike!

I did 1-on-1 personal training with Southside for about 9 months with the goal of increasing my core and upper body stength. I really appreciated the professionalism, education, and support I recieved from the trainers there. Overall, a really great experience and I'd highly recommend them for 1-on-1 training.

I train Muy Thai and BJJ here, I love the atmosphere and knowledge being spread. It’s gave me enough confidence to compete in the ring, on the mats, and inside the octagon. Can’t recommend it enough if you are looking for the skills needed to feel confident and a positive community.

Southside is an absolutely amazing gym. As a person who never really felt comfortable in a gym setting, I can say that the coaches make every single person that walks through the door feel welcome and like they belong. After having attended classes regularly for over a year, I feel strong, confident and better than I've felt in a long time. I think that settings like this can often feel intimidating, but that is anything but true with Southside. All skill levels are welcome (from novice to professional) and people are met where they are at and coached with patience and kindness. All of the coaches (for martial arts programs as well as the strength and conditioning classes) are top notch, excellent at their craft and wonderful teachers. In addition, my child attends their Little Warriors martial arts program, which is also incredible. He has learned so much from this class and he absolutely loves it. As a parent, it's given me confidence that he can take care of himself in potentially tough situations. Flagstaff is so lucky to have this amazing gym! I would encourage anyone who is wanting to build confidence and learn a new skill set to check this place out.
