We had tried several BJJ academies over the last 2 years before coming here and this was going to be our last attempt before taking a break and trying again next year as our daughter refused to participate or if she did, she was very reluctant. Coach Vini and Max were able to get our daughter on the mat within minutes with their encouraging, respectful and fun approach to teaching. It has been so rewarding to see our daughter’s confidence grow and how she’s enjoying these classes so much. She wants to go every day which says a lot! If you’re wondering if martial arts is the right fit for your child, our experience here has shown us that the right environment and community can make a difference. Thanks so much Vini and Max!

We absolutely love this jiu jitsu studio. Coach Max and Vini are the best — they are patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about the kids. My children have learnt so much through their experience here, especially resilience, discipline, and patience. They genuinely look forward to coming each week, which says everything. The studio has such a welcoming, family-friendly environment where everyone feels included and supported. We’re so grateful to be part of this community.
SJJA Wynnum is such a wonderful community. My daughter has been going several times per week for close to one year now, and she loves it. Great for fitness, skills and overall confidence! Max and Vinny are doing a fantastic job with all the kids. Thanks guys!
After twelve months of training at SJJA Wynnum and also my 4 year old daughter starting her Jiu Jitsu training at the club, I would highly recommend both the adults and kids programs. Very nicely presented, functional and well maintained training space. Knowledgeable coaches and I trust them with my daughter which is my highest endorsement.
Signed up both my 7yo and 9yo for the first time in Jiu Jitsu, about 4 months ago now and so glad I did. The head coach Vinnie is fantastic with the kids (as is his offsider Max), great sense of humour and makes a fun learning experience. My kids would love to come even more often during the week if they could, then the 3 times we already attend (if only I had more time). The skills, strength and discipline they have received has been so beneficial to their growth, not to mention their confidence and the new friends they've now made. I cant recommend SJJA Wynnum enough!!
