Came from Canada to visit family in Las Vegas. I was looking for a place to train. Everyone is welcoming and Sim is a great instructor!
Posted 1 year agoI came as a drop in and this was a great experience super chill super friendly nice safe rolls very welcoming to visitors after a roll or two i felt like I was at my home gym . Place was clean with changing room . They also will rent his. Very reasonable drop in fee.
Such an amazing gym, came in for a free trial class I honestly love it everyone is super nice. Coach is such an amazing teacher he willing to teach you and he very nice too. Definitely recommend 🦾

I was in Las Vegas in May 2024 and dropped in for a no-gi class. The no-gi class was packed! Sim's instruction was top notch. He also used Youtube to show how the move works in competition which I thought was neat. During the rolling part he pairs the students for safety reason which I appreciated as well. All in all a great experience and will definitely come again next time I'm in Vegas.
Been training here since 2018, I love it! Sim is a great coach. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I was a visitor from out of town. Great coaching, lots of good rolls, super clean, welcoming and over all a cool place to train. Vibe was great, brought my own gi, had a great time. Coach Sim is awesome. Going back tomorrow for sure!
This place is my second home and I love the people here. I've learned more than just the grappling skills that have made me a champion. I also learned things like commitment, dedication, and most of all patience.
Great academy. My son advanced a lot in matter couple 2-3 months. Very impressive with the coaches as well.

Been taking my kids here for years, started when they were at the location by Decatur and 215 like 7 years ago. The coaches genuinely care about the kids, both on and off the mat. I have nothing but great things to say. Coach TG has helped shape my sons into better people, and always there for us including some life events off of the mat. Coach Josh has his own kids enrolled, and is absolutely invested in the success of the kids. Coach Kai started in the kids program with my older son, and also cares about the kids and the kids program since he came up from there as well. I can't shout out everyone and everything or I'd be writing a novel not a Google review, but if you have kids this is a great place for them.
I dropped in for a class as a visitor from out of town. Everyone was very welcoming & I enjoyed training here very much and will go back whenever I’m in Vegas again. Clean gym, knowledgeable instructor 👍

I was in town for work and dropped in a couple times. Sim was very welcoming, as was everybody in the gym, and I enjoyed rolling with a variety of people there. I will definitely come back when I am in town again.
Great family-friendly atmosphere and a true learning/training environment! Head instructor Sim Go surrounds himself with great teammates who shares the same values as he does in training. He’s one of the OGs of BJJ before UFC came around, and respected in the LV BJJ community.
Just visited today and the sheer high skill level and kindness I was shown was amazing. Sim truly surrounds himself with excellent people and students. I felt very welcome like I’d be friends with some of these people for years. I’ll stay at my home gym for sure but I highly recommend checking out SimGo Academy for Jiu Jitsu.
This dojo is run by two murderous senseis. One's a corrupt billionaire and the other one's a deranged Vietnam War veteran.
Started here close to a month. Very solid instruction going straight into drilling then 30 mins to 1 hour of rolling after. Very solid group of classmates and instructors.
I managed to fit in a Saturday morning session while visiting LV. Everyone made me feel welcome and comfortable despite being a beginner in a class consisting mostly of higher belts. Got some rolls to offset all the partying and some new techniques and tips to work on. Definitely a quality gym that is also visitor friendly with clear drop-in fees and other info on their website.
I rolled twice here while visiting town for a convention. It’s a super nice group of people with diverse skills. I was quickly made to feel at home and then we went about the practice of practicing to injure one another, very safely. All of my training partners were competent, courteous, and a good roll. Next time I’m in town I’ll come back here to train.
Been involved in martial arts since i was 11. I have done many arts and have had many great teachers and even some bad ones. For the last 4 years my girlfriend and I have been traveling the country visiting and training at hundreds of different schools in that time. Far too many of those schools lack the connection to the students and are mostly sub par at teaching. Sim and his team at Cobra Kai are fantastic. Patient, kind, inviting and clean. He always addressed me by my name and treated me with respect. And that has not been the case across the country with many schools. I don't live in Vegas but if I did I'd be at Cobra Kai full time. This is also a perfect place for women to get started as well. I highly recommend Cobra Kai to anyone seeking a great beginning in martial arts and jiujitsu.

The name is deceiving. As an 80s kid, I loved Karate Kid and never identified with the bad guy’s dojo. BUT had several friends recommend this place, so gave it a try. Completely surprised at how welcoming and helpful everyone was. Not like to movie at all lol. Best first experience trying a Jiu Jitsu class. The gym owner, Sim Go, has a talent for explaining the moves while also making it fun by cracking jokes in between. He also is one of the most badass & humble people you’ll ever meet. Since was my first time, I was worried about sparring right away. Sim said I could just do the technical drilling and watch until I was comfortable. But since everyone was cool, decided to jump in the sparring “rolling”. Sim paired me up with specific partners. I rolled with a couple blue belts, and purple belt. Every student was controlled and calm. No jerking or cranking. No one tried to hurt me, but helped me learn, and have fun. Sim Go and all the students at Cobra Kai are great ambassadors and community of Jiu Jitsu practitioners.
