We now have attended the 2 day ACT course. The level of training we got was amazing. Day 1 shooting and firearm safety with Safety the name of the game. Made us feel much more comfortable around our firearms and safer to use them. Day 2 was self defense, protection and awareness. The family atmosphere but safely. Brian, Allie and all the crew were just awesome. We will be back to repeat this class and take others to help us protect ourselves and everyone else. Excellent class masterfully taught by true professionals. Can’t begin to describe how great and experiences this was. Safety was a number one priority on the range and in the dojo. Allison, Brian and her team were amazing and worked with students of all levels. I attended the two day ACT program and was a novice/beginner, after this I feel very confident and proud of my new skills that I learned. As a responsible firearm owner who already had my hunter safety certification, I approached this CCW class with some skepticism. Boy, was I wrong! Knowledge Beyond the Book: Don't be fooled by the Nevada statutes – 🙋🏻♀️Paralegal here. Reading them yourself simply doesn't cut it. Allie and Brian expertly unpacked the legalities, weaving in real-world scenarios and practical applications. Their insights, far beyond what any book could offer, gave me the confidence to navigate the complexities of concealed carry and confidence in passing the written exam. From Safety to Situational Awareness: The training went far beyond legalese. We delved deep into safe firearms handling, conflict resolution, and even the psychological aspects of using a firearm in self-defense. Allie and Brian's approach was comprehensive, humorous, engaging, and tailored to practical application. I was specifically impressed with the way they taught us to handle stoppages in our firearm. We had hands on experience with a blockage on our individual firearms to safely get “stovepipes” out. More importantly, I’m now armed with the knowledge of recognizing a “squib load”. (Google this. It’s actually terrifying that I was on a range not knowing about it.) Knowing how to spot this can save you from injury. I wish this education was a requirement for anyone purchasing a firearm. The instructors, Allison and Brian Campbell, are knowledgeable and experienced. These are the folks from whom you want to learn about CCW. They are thorough, answer any questions you have and make sure you understand the laws and expectations of CCW. They make it enjoyable and the class goes quickly. They are no nonsense and keep a good pace. They walk you thru everything you need to do and/or have to purchase in order to get your CCW. If you want a fun informative ccw class, this is the one for you. Allie and Brian don’t make you feel as if you’re in a classroom setting. I had never shot a gun before let alone handled one. Allie and her partner worked together in a way to teach memorable lessons to every and imprint skills needed for defensive situations and actions that should be taken after every self defensive incident. As well as basic safety and handling of a firearm. 100% recommended taking this class if you have or want to carry a firearm or just want to defend your self against a hostile person.
First and foremost, the number one thing they taught was gun safety. They instill in you to not be a victim--be the victor. They also always remind you to not be stupid--if you have an opportunity to avoid the situation, do so. If not, they will equip you with the skills you need to handle the situation. C.C.W. Course: Carrying a Concealed Weapon Course: I have been offered several classes from different instructors and places, but I am glad that I signed up with Campbell Defense Academy. It was a Saturday class, from 8am to 5pm. It was entertaining, enlightening, and hands on. I did not get bored, not once. I was also able to retain a lot of information, because it was a fun class. Sunday is the range test, and that was also great. I went to Metro later that day on Sunday to turn in my certification! They also help you gain your Utah CCW so you may carry in multiple states. [If you are going to Metro same day, make sure you know your addresses from the last ten years, and range of dates for those addresses; bring your birth certificate or green card if applicable. ]. A.C.T. Course: Armed Civilian Tactical Training Course Level 1. Wow, I am still enthusiastic about how empowered I feel after taking the Campbell Defense Academy’s A.C.T. Course!!!! Two days of intensive training to equip me w invaluable skills to protect myself and loved ones against the dangerous and/or the stupid of today’s world! The first day was the range day, where you learn more than you would ever think you could do with a hand gun. Allie is a nurse so she also made sure we were hydrated and safe. The second day was a long day of teaching different techniques of self defense on a mat at a dojo. They put you in different situations and give you strategies to escape or defend oneself! At the end of the weekend, after spending X amoutn of hours with Allie and Brian, and Fonzi, they even gave us nicknames! My dad has been dubbed ZOMBIE! I have been dubbed ELEKTRA!!! We had no idea we were incorporated into their community and we are thrilled. I highly recommend their courses!! I’ve always been wanting to take a tactical gun class. I do know how to shoot (at a firing range) but how to act, or react to real life situations while carrying a concealed firearm I don’t know. My daughter at gun show purchased a class with Campbell Defense Academy for Father’s Day. So we both attended the two day course. It was an amazing adventure. Great shooting tactics and outstanding awareness and defense skills learned. All the trainers were friendly and very motivating and encouraging to help you to improve and understand the concepts. Thank you Allison, Brain, Fonzie and Nat. I learned some.much and it was very fun. Your instructions and demos but the care you all put in the each student was amazing. Zombie
I had the pleasure to take the CCW class and Allison and Brian are a fabulous couple! Their teaching styles balance one another and keep you engaged during the class. It is clear they are both passionate about what they do. Both have many certificates and experience with firearms and combat. This is an 8 hr class with an hour lunch. We were find our dominant eye and practiced how to handle stoppages on our handguns. Rubber bullets were provided to enhance the learning process and familiarity of the handgun. Most of what we learned was on the exam which was 50 questions. The shooting portion of the certification was great and Allison took her time to explain the process as well as tips to improve aim. The only feedback I have is that I wished they gave us a heads up on the cost for application at the metro police station. I paid 118 dollars for a background check, fingerprint card and application fee. Make sure you have the funds available after you pass!

I recently took the Campbell Defense Academy class for my CCW permit. This class was amazing! They are so informative and give you the laws but also give you real life stories and scenarios as well! They made me feel so comfortable and confident in my training. I will definitely be back. They also offer kids gun safety training classes, as well as self defense courses as well. Another update: we finally signed up and took the A.C.T. training course, we had the most amazing weekend learning new skills, I feel even more confident than before. Since getting our CCW I did not feel comfortable carrying because I feared it would be used against me since I am fairly new to firearms, this makes me feel more at ease having the knowledge of how to retain control of not just my side arm but being more aware of my surroundings and we were given training of close contact with different scenarios. We are looking forward to the next level of training courses. And YES, I did shoot a card sideways in half first shot, just like they said. :) Update LADIES THIS CLASS IS JUST WHAT YOU NEED: we took the PISTOL SKILLS BUILDER class this past weekend and it was the funnest educational class I've ever taken. I not only learned how to properly handle my firearm and shoot it, I also learned how to hit my targets, what a thrill, RECOMMENDING EVEN MORE...CCW CLASS CCW class: Highly recommend, very knowledgeable. I went in with little knowledge of firearms and came out feeling much more comfortable handling mine. Looking forward to taking the self defense class in the future.ALLISON, BRIAN AND THEIR CREW ARE THE BEST.

I just completed the CCW class at Campbell Defense Academy and I am beyond satisfied with the program. The amount of information provided in this class provides a strong foundation for having a CCW permit. More importantly, Campbell Defense offers so much more training beyond just the requirements to get a CCW, their programs will help prepare you to defend yourself and your loved ones.
So I decided to take the CDA class for my CCP permit. I will say, I was highly impressed with the work they put in to make sure that you learn everything you need to know about gun safety and also your rights as a gun owner. They always answered everybody's questions to the T but one thing for sure is that they never suger coat anything. The training was excellent and the instructors were great.....

I recently took the Multi-State Concealed Firearms Permit class with Campbell Defense Academy. The first day included a 8 hour class with a written test and the second day included testing at the range to demonstrate competence with a firearm. Both Allison and Brian were terrific instructors! I'm a beginner in the use of firearms, but Allison was patient with me and made suggestions which improved my targeting in just a few minutes! There was noticeable improvement and that was my first time using a firearm! If you're looking for a company that does a great job in teaching firearm safety, responsibility, state/local laws, for students of all ages and ability, look no further, and consider taking a course with the Campbell Defense Academy.

Signed up for the CCW course. Very well run class where you are taught what you need to know and provided with the knowledge that will help you in the future. I have taken other classes with different schools and it felt like you were just a number and payday to them. Allie and Brian actually care about the problems that you may encounter by providing solutions to potential situations that you may be involved with.
I took the CCW class and the ACT progrem. Both were very enlightening and very informative. Brain and Allison had thorough knowledge of all types of firearms and the laws that govern the use of them. Allison and Brain are very passionate about about the importance of self defense, the need for it and why everyone should skill set to protect themselves in many different situations. They treat and teach you as though you are one of their family. The classes humbled me and opened my eyes to the many mistakes I've made with firearms and self defense. They understand the coarses are so compehensive and may be a bit overwhelming that students can come back and retake it, or portions of it so they can fully understand proper techniques and how to apply them. Lastly, I had the priviladge to take these classes with women. At the beginning, theses women appeared timed and a bit affraid. By the end of the program, these same women were glowing with confidence and were often first in line for different training exercises. I would recommend these programs to everyone regardless of what your skillset or confidence is. You won't be dissapointed. I will be enrolling in ot and person

I took this class as an off chance deal while visiting. I'm going home soon and the only problem I'll have is that this Academy is not in my home state. The class was extraordinary. I took CDA’s CCW course last month- what a great time. Alli & Brian are so knowledgeable, captivating and entertaining- yes even during the state mandated 8 hour CCW course! The day went by so fast, they keep you engaged and interested the entire time - while teaching you all the essentials and throwing the cherry on top. I highly recommend getting your CCW here they are very professional & pleasant people! They also offer free lessons for victims in need for self defense!!! Campbell teaches you how to hold your gun properly & helps you fix your aim just in a one day honestly just in a couple of hours! I’m so glad I got my CCW with CDA the 8 hour long class felt like minutes I felt comfortable at home sense of family.
They know what they’re doing! Instructors are very knowledgeable and very supportive. When you hear 8-9 hour class it’s seems like a lot but it actually goes by fast. My shooting is also 100% better after the class which is a plus.

We covered everything from firearm safety, to state laws regarding firearms, to home defense. This course challenges many things you may THINK you know about about firearms and firearm ownership. A lot of ppl own a firearms and do not know what they are doing. I recommend this class to ANYONE that owns a firearm or is thinking any purchasing one, and has not had any training on how to handle one. This course was huge step in becoming a responsible firearm owner.
I love this!! I can’t say enough good things about it ❤️ I took my first weekend to do the A.C.T. Program and I couldn’t be happier my experience. I have had some struggles with security and safety. I was feeling stressed about some of the training that we were going to do. Allie and Brian were very understanding. They gave me ways to work around my issues and if I wasn’t comfortable for an activity, they were very supportive. I wish that I would have had access to this when my kids were living at home. This program would be awesome for a young person. The techniques were simple. We were able to practice everything as many times as it took to develop comfort with the moves. The instructions were thorough and it was fun. I met great people and I have an activity available at no additional cost one weekend a month for the next year. I want to say thank you to Allie and Brian for facilitating such a great program. And thank you to Jamie and Salinna for introducing me to the program.
I absolutely recommend this self-defense class! Money well spent! Not to mention you can participate in all or parts of the class each month they host it for an entire year. The skills they teach, could be the difference between life or death! I firmly believe it's better to be over prepared than underprepared in anything in life, especially a potential life or death situation. You will enjoy every second, not to mention the lasting friendships you will make. It’s a long two days but honestly, it goes by fast. The way they break it up and the fluidity of the material, it doesn’t feel like it’s actually as long as it is in the moment. In the end you will feel transformed. You will feel safer & more empowered than ever before to defend your life and that of a loved one. And you will also develop a cool nickname at the end of the two day course. They will give you the tools for survival.
I took the CCW class here..... And with the COVID pandemic, it was a small class of 6 students. The information, the presentation and the intimacy made for an excellent class. For me the best part of the CCW class was the individual assistance in how to stand, hold and accurately aim your firearm. (Not just how to pass the test) Best CCW class in the Valley, For sure.
Allie and Brian are Excellent instructors and obviously well versed in firearms safety and state law. They did not cut corners or skimp on the class time and content. The time spent is well worth it. They kept the class engaged in so may ways as well as entertained. they offer an array of classes with very flexible training schedules. I would highly recommend Campbell Defense Academythe go to place if you are looking to get your CCW permit.
By far one of best husband and wife team course academy. The class was Kept lively and interactive. Allie and Brian Provided a vast of support to the students. I really admired the teaching procedures and techniques used. This institute was one who taught me liveliness and helped me to gain knowledge.
I just want to take out the time to say how great of an experience myself, my fiancé and my son had on 04/16/2020 at Campbell Defense Academy. Allie and Brian gave such a informative Ccw class that I haven’t experienced before . They make each and everyone very comfortable and while teaching you each and every fundamentals of your firearm. Not only will you learn the laws of the Ccw but you will learn accuracy also to prepare you for the range qualification part . They are the best I would say hands down and if you don’t have your Ccw yet I highly recommend taking there class! If I could give 10 stars ⭐️ I would . They even took there time to make my fiancé comfortable in handling her firearm and turning her “ I can’t “ To “ I CAN “ !! 😀👍🏽Everything they say you will learn and accomplish you definitely will and more in their class!! First off I want to say that Brian and Allison are the real deal, I had some concerns about going to the desert with 9 stranger with loaded weapons but safety is Campbell Defenses top priority! I’m here to tell you that I never felt un safe one time during the ACT corse. There was beginners that new nothing about shooting,loading firearms and general safety and Brian really made sure to focus on how important safety is and how important proper gun etiquette really is. I would highly recommend this class to people of all stages and experience levels. One of the coolest things about this class is shooting and splitting a playing card and here is the the thing all 9 people completed it it was insane! You will learn so much about position, cover, stance, shooting moving targets, grip and shooting and moving Campbell is teaching real life saving tactics things that no other class offers!! The second day was also amazing we did disarming and protecting yourself from a bad situation we learned holds, locks,escapes and submissions and going hands on the ACT program is an amazing program do your self a favor and sign up the cool thing is you can take refresher classes once a month for a year, Not only did I learn a ton of stuff I made friends and hope to see Brian and Alison again some time soon thank you so much for everything!!
Fantastic days completing our CCW courses with Allie Shooter and Brian Campbell. They really, really care and offer much more information and advice than the course requires. More like friends than instructors. Thank you so much for your time and efforts! You are an amazing couple! Allie spent loads of time with my Wife and helped her overcome her nervousness at the range. Brian is a formidable force, a proud, honourable Marine and a true Gentleman,we were even given the opportunity to shoot their own very expensive firearms! Looking forward with excitement to our next step - their ACT course we have booked with them. All the advice they gave us before the course on what equipment would be best, totally made sense as the day progressed. The confidence and comfort you give to students is priceless.....
The A.C.T. program is jam packed with various forms of self defense techniques, in addition to an amazing training for firearms. I received exactly what I was promised.. and even more. My personal favorite result is how much more comfortable I am with firearms. Their unique approach leaves the student more aware, strong and confident to clearly defend what is most important to them. I also recommend their CCW class!
Just finished the CCW class. I've been around firearms all my life. Really learned technique in the Army. Today's instructor was able to show me a better technique than what I was using and brought my groups to about the size of a half dollar in 10 minutes. Can't recommend them enough!
I had the privilege of taking a class the Campbell Defense Academy. And it was extremely informative and we'll taught. I was very impressed with the knowledge and delivery of information. I can't wait to enroll in more classes. Kudos to Allie Shooter & Brian Campbell you are true professionals.
Allison and Brian deserve more than 5 stars! Their courses are amazing. I attended a home invasion course a few months after the Route91 shooting. I thought my anxiety would get the best of me, but I was wrong. Taking out my aggression during the defensive moves was AWESOME. I keep trying to attend the ACT courses, but life .. keeps kicking my butt. I'm always busy or out of town when the courses come up. One of these days, I'll be able to see my favorite couple again!!!

Allison and Brian are teaching all the best techniques for both firearms training and hand-to-hand self-defense training. Fantastic! After a career in the military, the first firearms course I took outside of that environment was with Campbell Defense Academy. Without a doubt it was as good as any training I received inside the military. What stood out the most was the emphasis on safety. As should be the case for defense and firearms training given outside the military, the presumption is the student isn't military and isn't necessarily comfortable or familiar with firearms. Campbell Defense Academy easily accommodates any student with no training, all the way up to someone with years of experience, all in a safe and comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for defense or firearms training!
I’ve gone through a few of their courses and I keep coming back for more. I appreciate the approach they take when training. I’m prior military and I learned techniques on firearm safety and self defense that I wish they’d train in the military. I highly recommend anyone to take classes. Not only will you come out feeling accomplished, you’ll have a better understanding of what you can personally do to defend your loved ones and yourself. These classes are for any level of experience and no matter how frustrated you may get with yourself, they’ll always be supportive. I’ve truly gone from feeling like a victim to feeling amazingly empowered. They helped bring out the true me, the powerful me and I am truly grateful.

The provide real world training and scenarios. The are so thorough and provide a wealth of information. Allison and her husband Brian are dedicated to teaching others about self defense and personnel safety. She truly cares about her students. Both myself and my 19 year old daughter have attended two of her classes. We are planning on attending more.
I've trained with Allison for close to 80 hours now! Individual Firearm training, both indoors and outdoors, conceal carry, open carry, knife training, home invasion training, civilian tactics training etc! She's the real deal. She has an incredible teaching style that begins with being an expert and continuing to practice practice practice her own skill set. Her approach to adult learning is spot on and she's beautiful inside and out! She has helped me grow my ability and confidence. Utilizing your fear of not going home at night to your family, she teaches you how to be a victor not a victim. I highly recommend getting some training with her! Well worth your time and dollars. Do it!
This is not only amazing but inspirational as well! I learned so much from the academy and have a confidence in myself that I never had before. You can know absolutely nothing and they have the patience and the heart to take you step by step. I tell everyone I meet about this training! Go for the ACT program!! Its honestly the best thing you could ever do for yourself!
This company is ridiculously unprofessional. It’s cheap which is why I signed up, but the price reflects the way the class is run. First of all, unlike how it’s supposed to be done, you don’t even take your shooting test the same day. The class is on a Saturday and then they want you to come back on Sunday to take your shooting test, but they fail to mention that until you get there. I don’t have my CCW yet but thankfully my partner does so I have some knowledge on the do’s and don’ts but it seems like the people who attend this class and leave a good review must have absolutely zero knowledge on guns or the laws surrounding them. First of all, they were trying to teach us how to clear a stovepipe jam which isn’t required to teach during the CCW class. Secondly, Allison’s husband was trying to teach us to clear that jam with our hands! As if in real life if that happened it wouldn’t be piping hot. Thirdly, when I attempted to do it I couldn’t (because it’s not the right way to clear that jam) the male instructor took my gun from me and slammed it on the table to clear the jam! So are we learning to clear it with our hands or slam it on the table to clear it? I couldn’t believe he did that. Upon further inspection, the gun had shell casing scratches from the table incident. Not only this incident, but during break Allison was going around and taking peoples guns out of their cases and loading their magazines for them! I don’t know about you but I would’ve been pissed if I came back and someone, much less the instructor, had taken out my gun for me and handled it without my knowledge. My boyfriend called after I told him what was going on and when he told the male instructor that learning to clear jams like that isn’t required, the male instructor responded “well what else am I supposed to teach for 8 hours?” Um maybe let us do the shooting test like we’re supposed to do in the same day?! I did not complete this class, I left a few hours in and got a refunded because it was so ridiculous.
We were scheduled to take this class, paid for it at the Gun Show, came down to the date, and we had a death in the family. Contacted Campbell Defense Academy and heard nothing back about rescheduling or anything. This was in 2022 but hopefully they have gotten better at Customer Service since. We went with HPPT and would recommend them but not Campbell Defense.
