Great gym and at a great price. Very knowledgeable trainers and extremely helpful and encouraging. I suggest this gym 100%
Posted 11 months agoGreat place for adults and kids alike. My 13 year old son is now enrolled. My 10 year daughter was here for a year. I too have studied here and looking to get back on the mats. You want to put in some work, come here!
Posted 1 year agoSo thankful for the incredible coaching here at Sharkbait's. If I was still in the area I would continue without hesitation. Great opportunity for beginner's AND experience grappler's and roller's. 10/10 would give 100 stars if I could!
Posted 1 year agoAnthony and all the teachers at Sharkbait are great. My son loves the kickboxing and MMA classes!!!
Posted 1 year agoFreaking love this place. Been doing it 2 months and it’s awesome. I’m in my mid 40’s and nowhere near the shape of most the people here but they have welcomed me with open arms. It’s great seeing paying members who are there to get better themselves, really caring to see other people get better. Fantastic gym culture.
It was incredible, the trainer explained very well 10/10. a place to learn and have better health. Thank you CUBA 🇨🇺
Best Jiu-Jitsu experience I’ve ever had. They treat new guys great, great coaching, atmosphere, and training.
Best MMA gym out there, I come from a wrestling background and know what it takes to make high level athletes. Anthony exceeds all my expectations and is a great mentor and coach. I liked it so much I signed up my daughter (13) and son (10) and they absolutely love the structure of practice and the techniques they learn. Great place for all skill levels!!!
This is a great gym. The onboarding process is simple. The coaches always show up. The coaches are supportive and welcoming, they genuinely care about you, your safety, and your improvement. Unfortunately, due to moving I had to cancel my subscription with them. I can verify that the canceling process was so simple, and respectful. I would recommend this gym to anyone.
My two grandsons recently joined Sharkbait’s MMA & Jiu Jitsu Academy - ages 6 - 13. They both look forward to attending practice with a joy and excitement that pleases me very much. Every student is learning valuable skills, getting proper exercise, and gaining physical strength as well. There are several coaches teaching and attending to students during either Kickboxing or Jiu Jitsu practice. These coaches are energetic, knowledgeable, patient, and simply phenomenal when working with these children. I am very pleased and impressed.
I love this place for my kids and I, Coach Anthony, John and I believe his name is Hunter are great. I look forward to rolling up here weekly.
Good gym for all different ages and skill levels. I especially enjoyed working with Coach John. He's very good at assessing your individual skill level and giving the right amount of encouragement and instruction.
Coach Gutierrez and his staff care extremely deeply about their students. It is evident through their energy, passion, and grit they demonstrate day in and day out. There is a vast range of competition, and is friendly to beginners if that's where you are. I can promise one thing, that if you attend consistently you WILL get better. No question. From the competitive guys, they will PUSH you to bring and be your best. Every day. No exceptions and no excuses. Quitting not allowed attitude that pushes you beyond limits you thought you had. Phenomenal gym.
I highly recommend Sharkbaits MMA and Jiujitsu Academy for anyone interested in the sport. Coach Anthony and his team exhibit utmost professionalism and desire to teaching their students.
I've been going here for a little over a year. The coaches are great and accommodate all skill levels, the gym is always clean and spacious, and the community there is amazing.
I have been training here for a year now. It has become one of my favorite places on earth. You won’t find better real world training anywhere else. I love the people, the skills I have learned, and the culture. Culture is extremely important to me. We all want to better ourselves, but with the culture here, we want to better the others around us as well. That to me, is what sets them apart. Go try a class out and you will see what I mean.
I joined Sharkbaits MMA and Jiu-Jitsu a while ago, and can confidently say it's nothing short of exceptional. The instructors are not just skilled practitioners but also fantastic teachers, patiently guiding students through the intricacies of Jiu-Jitsu. The atmosphere is welcoming, fostering a sense of camaraderie among practitioners of all levels. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned grappler, everyone is supportive and committed to helping each other improve. What sets Sharkbaits MMA and Jiu-Jitsu apart is the focus on technique and the emphasis on practical application. Classes are well-structured, balancing drills, sparring, and detailed breakdowns of techniques. The result? Rapid skill development and a deep understanding of Jiu-Jitsu principles. The facility itself is clean, well-equipped, and designed with the needs of Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in mind. The staff is friendly, always ready to answer questions or provide additional guidance. I've not only gained physical strength and agility but also mental resilience and problem-solving skills through my time at Sharkbaits MMA and Jiu-Jitsu. It's more than a gym; it's a community dedicated to the art of Jiu-Jitsu. If you're looking for a place to learn, grow, and be part of something extraordinary, Sharkbaits MMA and Jiu-Jitsu is the place to be.
I started training with coach Anthony in 2015 at a different gym. In 2018 I took some time off from training and came back to work with Anthony at the new gym when it opened. The staff is dedicated to making sure each class is taught with energetic coaches. Truly a great place to go whether you want to be competitive or just enjoy the workout and enjoy learning new skills. Most gyms with higher level coaches aren't welcoming to new people. Skarkbait's, Anthony, and staff want everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy the classes no matter what level you are at.
I have been attending classes here for about a month now. I have to say this is far more fun that working out at the gym. The coaching and instruction has really helped me develop what little kickboxing/mma skills I had. If you are considering a place to exercise, lose weight, build cardio, and gain some fighting skills, this is a great place to do it no matter your skill level.
I’ve been coming here for a while and these guys have helped me out a lot. This is definitely the place to train at. Great atmosphere, great training and great coaches.
Everyone is super nice, the coaches are very knowledgeable, and the classes are fun.
Great gym, been going for about 7 months, amazing coaches, good people, and tons of class variety/something for everyone.
Place here is awesome great training and coaching !
I did not have any martial arts experience and I enjoy coming here. It has truly changed my life (in a good way).
An amazing place to train for people of all skill levels. Whether you're training to fight or just to get in shape, they'll cater to whatever goals you have to help you become the best version of yourself! Everyone who trains here is super friendly, so it feels like more of a family than a gym. And they have morning and night classes, so no matter what your schedule, you should be able to make it work. Been to a lot of gyms, but I can't reccomend this location enough!
Very fun and friendly atmosphere. Great for kids classes and adults w all levels of experience. Highly recommend this gym.
My daughter has been training with Coach Anthony for 5 years. He’s been the best coach to her. Something we couldn’t find at other gyms. A super fun and supportive atmosphere.
My daughter has been going here for about a year. Great atmosphere, amazing coaches, very welcoming!
My daughter and I have been training here since it opened. The coaches and community are great. 100% recommend to kids and adults of all levels.
My 5 yr old son and my 50 yr old husband are members and absolutely love it. All the coaches are incredible, skilled, patient and encouraging! A fun, challenging workout for the hobbyist but also top notch competition for the serious aspiring athlete.
Amazing gym… Amazing Coaches…Always a Positive Vibe…. Been with Sharbait for longer than the gym and we consistently wint tournaments because we consistently get the best training around!!!
The atmosphere at Sharkbait’s is the perfect balance of competition and enjoyment. You will get an awesome workout with amazing people while learning a skill set that almost no one has. I started here with 0 grappling experience at almost 30 years old and my only regret is not starting sooner. Give it a try.
My son has been training here since it opened. He’s learned a ton, the coaches are great, and he loves coming to class.
My son has been Sharkbait (Anthony) for almost 5 years, dating back to before he opened his own gym. Can't say enough about the way he connects with the kids and the kind of teacher/coach he is. He has built a great coaching staff that really cares about teaching the kids. Highly recommended! Great people, great gym!
I've been training here for almost 2 months and I'm thoroughly impressed with the coaches and welcoming atmosphere. The kids classes are outstanding and well organized. Sharkbaits academy is a great addition to the community!
I would 100% recommend this gym I have trained at multiple different gyms and this place has had the best experience, environment, and coaching.
This place is the best has the greatest coaches for kids and adults. 10/10 would recommend
If I could give 10 stars, I would.
Great atmosphere... for all skill levels! Right in blue springs!!
The absolute best place to train. I’ve trained at several other gyms and this is by far the best. World class facility and world class training. Fun and laid back. If you are serious about improving your fitness or getting into Jiu jitsu or kickboxing, look no further! I cannot recommend this place more.
Check this place out! Good group. Great vibe. Zero ego. Super clean. A good balance between serious work and fun… so well-suited for the pro or the hobbyist.
It's a great place for anyone who interests in learning kick boxing and jitsu
Very disappointing experience. The website indicated there were classes for kids 4 to 5 years old and then a separate class for 6 to 7-year-olds. We signed up for the free trial which wasn't even worth the free time that we spent to be there. We showed up the person met us and had me sign a waiver and that was the extent of the introduction and discussion of what to expect out of the class or what to do. The class started and you could tell it was mixed ages. There appeared to be one other kid who was four and one other kid that was five. The remaining kids in the class were clearly over those ages and more advanced in their training. There was one boy in the class who appeared to be a teenager or close to it.The instructors took no time to interact with my child to guide him to instruct him or demonstrate anything to him to help him understand what to do on a 4-year-old level or any level. They didn't introduce themselves to my son and certainly didn't make either of us feel welcome to a new environment. My son approached one of the instructors and asked him if he could wear a belt. The instructor didn't answer him and turn around and walked away. I'm not sure if the instructor heard him or not but I know eye contact was made. It made my son cry. After explaining the situation to my son and trying to help redirect him I was able to get him to go back out there and try again. They started doing different types of moves that are unfamiliar to him like shrimp crawling and other things without any formal instruction or guidance. I would assume as coaches you would observe students who are struggling new or uncertain about what they're doing and interact with them to help guide them. My son continues to look to me on how to do things or what to do. I had to try to encourage him to ask the instructors for help, which was difficult to do for a 4-year-old in this constantly moving environment with a large group of kids who already knew what they were doing. Extremely disappointing and not worth your time if you have a child under the age of five. My son was very defeated by the interactions, the experience and lack of engagement from the coaches. He had been looking forward to this trial for a long time. He's done nothing but talk about kicking kickboxing punching martial arts for several weeks and he was looking forward to this trial. The good thing about trying things is you know what you like and you know what you don't like and we know this place isn't for us. Otherwise for older kids and adults it appears to be a great opportunity. The facility is very clean.
Posted 1 year agoThere's no limit on number of kids per class & they have no control over the kids. They don't make sure kids are doing moves correctly and in just the 2 weeks we did it (4-5 classes), I'm not sure my very beginner son learned much at all. We quit because my son was injured and not a single coach or even the owner noticed. After leaving early (again without notice from the coaches or owner), we called to talk about options about a refund, the owner called us "butt hurt" about a little bump. The side of my son's head was solid red and he had a blood blister on his ear from being hit so hard, clearly not a "little bump." Thankfully the owner was smart enough to refund the security deposit so we didn't have to take further action. Definitely do not recommend this place, there's plenty of other gyms in the area for us to try.
