really love this gym as well as the instructors and management! I grew up in the area and recently came down to SoCal to visit my parents, I was only going to be here for 6 days and Sektor let me train with the one week free trial. I went to a No Gi jiu jitsu class and also a Wrestling class. Both instructors were fantastic and I especially loved the Friday afternoon wrestling class taught by Shawheen! Everyone at the gym was so friendly and welcoming, and the facilities were very clean. Great training environment and a lot of good partners to pair up with. Apparently their headquarters is in Chino, I didn't get a chance to visit, but the Rowland Heights location was really cool and I had a really good/fun experience :) Would highly recommend training here if you're in town! They have a really big kids program too so if you're looking to send your kids somewhere this would be a great choice
Great school. The instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable. No egos. They cultivate a very family-friendly environment.
The Rowland Heights location of Sektor Jiu-Jitsu offers solid training with skilled instructors who break down techniques clearly. The environment is welcoming, and there’s a strong sense of community among students. It’s a good place for anyone looking to improve their skills or start learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
My grandson and granddaughter have been attending this club for a year now, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience they’ve had. They always have a great time, and it’s clear that they enjoy every session.
I love this gym! It’s one of the cleanest gyms I have ever been to. Also, the people are really nice! My niece and nephew always have a great time here. I totally recommend Sektor!
I had a great experience at Sektor. I reached out to them a few weeks in advance to let them know I was going to be in town and I was interested in visiting their school. They responded immediately and let me know that I was more than welcomed. As the day was getting closer for my visit, I followed up with them and again they were prompt with their response and ensured me I was set to visit. They were very excited to have me check out a class. The people were extremely friendly. Professor Jesse was teaching the 9:00am beginners class on Tuesday and he was a great instructor. They even have cool Jiu Jitsu art on their walls and that was dope to see. If you’re in the area I highly recommend you come in for a class! Thank you once again, Sektor Jiu-Jitsu. I look forward to coming back.
Amazing gym, amazing instructor and clean environment. Loved my experience with Sektor!
Sektor has been awesome. From day one, all of the coaches and fellow practitioners were welcoming and helpful. The kids' classes seem very fun and engaging; I can't wait until my son is a bit older so he can sign up. I'd highly recommend Sektor to anyone thinking about starting their BJJ journey or looking for a new gym.
From the moment my partner and I visited Sektor Rowland Heights we immediately felt a connection to the space and the people in it. The techniques were great, the instruction was simple yet extremely efficient, the instructors were all attentive, knowledgeable and chill people. We have not been as consistent as we would like to be, but we are always greeted with the same positive welcoming energy that we received on our first day every time we step into the space! Will always be my go-to spot in the area for a solid bjj gym that checks all the boxes. 10/10 - Highly recommend testing the waters here yourself, especially if you're coming from somewhere you're not enjoying yourself. Environment is everything in this art/sport! *Photos/Videos to be added soon
I enrolled seven months ago and was the best decision I made I’ve been training over 16 years and been to other gyms and Sektor has the best the instructors and environment great place to learn Brazilian jiu jitsu
My kid's have been training here for a little over two months. We have always had good experience when training at the gym. We started out just trying the free one week trial and ended up liking it. My youngest trains in the small kids class. I like that they teach the kids in a way where they are learning but also having fun. Some of the drills the kids do seem like games but they help them with reflexes. There are days they play games where one child tries to push the other child out of an area. They are preparing the kids for the next class which includes grappling. My son is in the older kids class. I like how the coaches teach the kids consistently. The coaches will drill a move for multiple days. This allows the kids time to learn the move and fix any wrong movements or placement of their arms and legs. My son enjoys when they have the opportunity to grapple towards the end of the class. Where else can kids have a space where they can play rough? The coaches will watch closely as the kids grapple and make sure they are doing it in a safe manner. Both my kids have made a lot of new friends there. Both have them have grown more confident. The staff is very professional and friendly. The place is clean. I like the framed drawings that are around the room. I would recommend people try the free one week trial.
Sektor is an amazing place to train jiu jitsu! It is perfect for all ages. They have an amazing women’s class that’s fantastic for beginners—good for fundamentals. It is great for fitness , learning self defense, and building self confidence as you try to do hard things. It helps keep the brain active (learning the steps to a move) and is excellent for practicing and developing greater focus. The coaches are welcoming and give specific helpful feedback. Finally, the people you’ll meet and train with are really outstanding!
Awesome club for Jiu-Jitsu! My son is here for a year already, has a great time, and all the coaches are very professional, kind and supportive!
Very good coach! Patient and meticulous! My daughter benefited a lot!
Amazing place to train for kids and adults with clean facilities, safe training partners, and attentive coaches. Wish my son and I found this gym sooner!
I attended a free women’s self-defense class at Sektor and had a fantastic experience. The coach was nice and provided great instruction, and the members were friendly and welcoming. I appreciated that there was no pressure to sign up for regular classes, but if I ever find the time, I would definitely consider it!
I recently enrolled my child in Coach Shaween's kids class at Sektor Jiu-Jitsu in Rowland Heights, and I couldn't be happier with the experience so far. Coach Shaween is fantastic with the kids, providing a fun and engaging learning environment that keeps them motivated and excited to come back each week. One of the standout members of the coaching staff is Coach Nicole, who goes above and beyond to ensure that each child is getting the attention and guidance they need to succeed. She is patient, encouraging, and always willing to offer extra help to any student who may be struggling. Her dedication to the kids is truly commendable and has made a positive impact on my child's progress in the class. Overall, Sektor Jiu-Jitsu in Rowland Heights is a top-notch martial arts academy with a strong emphasis on providing quality instruction in a supportive and nurturing environment. I would highly recommend it to any parent looking to enroll their child in a martial arts program. The coaches are knowledgeable, caring, and truly invested in the success and growth of each student. My child looks forward to each class and has gained confidence, discipline, and valuable self-defense skills through their training at Sektor Jiu-Jitsu.
My little siblings (age 4 and 6) go to Sektor RH and they absolutely love it. They love learning new moves to improve on their grappling skills. The Sunday class with coach Shawheen has helped them get better with their takedowns which has been awesome to see. The daily availability makes it easier for them to attend more classes which in turn helps improve their skills. I definitely recommend Sektor Rowland Heights! They also offer a FREE WOMENS class every Tuesday at 6pm! This class has been great especially for women who are beginning to learn jitsu. Coach Caro is the instructor for the class, she's very welcoming and she does great at making sure everyone feels included and comfortable during their time at Sektor.
Our family visited the Sunday no-gi class with emphasis on wrestling techniques to use in Jiujitsu. The kids had a blast from the warm up to specific trading and the best sparring! Thank you for the friendliness and welcoming attitude!! You should come and try it out!
When I first went they was very welcoming and the class sparked a general interest in the sport I wish I could go more often but due to geographic issues and financial issues I can't go but to anyone curious about this sport and want to try it out I suggest sektorjj
My 5 and half years old son has been practicing BJJ here for over a year. We’ll also enroll our daughter here as soon as she turns four in August. The vibe here is always great. The staff are very friendly and patient. The coaches are professional, with extensive experience in both competitions and teaching. I have noticed that during each class's skill training, the coaches ensure that every child gets individual attention. We LOVE it here. My son said he’s considering participating in his first competition. I’ve already recommended Sektor to my friends and their kids love here too.
I bring my 6 year old here and this is one of the best places, they have excellent instructors, very attentive and friendly.
We decided to venture a few miles further from our home to find a better gym that wasn’t overly crowded and small for our daughter. So glad we made that decision. From the instructors, facility, culture, cleanliness, and atmosphere; Sektor is better.
My daughter and I came here from another gym and the difference is night and day. Sektor is superior in almost every aspect: class size, instructors, culture, schedule, price, competitiveness, promotion structure, etc. For the kids classes they are not overcrowded at all, spend more time drilling techniques, use the right amount of discipline, and actually show that they care about the kids. For the adults classes the instructors really spend time and are patient with beginners. I am so glad to be a part of this gym, and hope my family and I can grow with them.
My son has been coming here for about 5months. He loves going to class. All the instructors are amazing. The way they care for the children and the details at how to do things is amazing. Im glad i picked this location for my kid to come and train.
Highly recommending Sektor especially if you have children and want them to learn something useful and build technique and coordination. Finding Sektor was the best thing for our kids. We’ve enrolled them in several activities and to be honest, they needed something more stimulating. As parents, we feel this community encompasses passion, drive, and provides some building blocks for self esteem. They see strength and what they can accomplish by looking up to their peers, teachers, professors, cohorts, etc.
My son (12 years old) has been rolling at Sektor for a while. He enjoys the friendly people there and training methods. They are very well organized and feel like true BJJ community. They want to make sure everyone is well taken care of! My son has been doing BJJ for almost 10 years and he rolled at many gyms but Sektor is one of his most favorite gym to visit!
They hosted a women’s fundamental class on Tuesday Lead by a purple belt Carol . She was awesome ! She taught us a cool sweep and submission ! Super friendly place that I felt comfortable in too !
My kids have been going to Sektor RH for almost a year and a half. It’s amazing to see how much the Sektor family has grown. Everyone works so well with the kids. The coaches are knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. It’s great seeing our kids grow in skill and confidence. Thank you, Sektor!
My kids absolutely love coming to Sektor. Coach Jesse and his coaching team are patient, technical and the right amount of fun mixed with discipline to keep the kids both engaged and focused. I highly recommend Sektor Jiu Jitsu Rowland Heights without any reservations.
It's really clean. All the staff are very welcoming and very patient. I love that they have classes every day and that it's very family oriented.
You will learn a lot in a short time span from just coming here. The instructors and community is very nice. Anyone including students are willing to help you out and give you tips. My experience here has been amazing!
The best decision we ever made was sending my son to SEKTOR! Best location! They have all the friendly and professional coachs here! After couple of months training, he became more confident for sure! Sektor is definitely an amazing place to introduce your family to Jiujitsu! ⚔️
Exceptional instruction, vibrant community, and transformative experiences define Sektor. Stepping onto the mats here feels like joining a family dedicated to mastering the art of Jiu Jitsu. Peter and Jesse are not only experts in their craft but also passionate mentors, guiding students through every technique with patience and precision. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, the supportive atmosphere fosters growth both on and off the mat. With a curriculum designed to challenge and inspire, Sektor cultivates not just physical strength but also mental resilience and camaraderie.
Totalmente recomendado !!
Peter responds extremely quickly to questions and inquiries. People are friendly and its a good place to train.
Nice clean gym with friendly, responsive owners and high-level students and teachers.
Peter and Jesse are very professional and welcoming. Super friendly and very diligent with teaching. I've been training for a long time and a blackbelt myself and can not recommend more about this gym. Absolutely no ego whatsoever, and always have a positive vibe when training here.
Great gym to train! Has been coming back to train several times due to frequent trips and has always been good to come back to. Not only the friendly environment and staffs but also high performance and detailed skills teached by coaches are impressive.
Good selection of class times, including morning classes at 9 am. Professors Juan and Jesse are patient, detailed instructors. A friendly crew of consistent guys come in the mornings. I'm glad I found this place to train. If you're thinking of starting your Jiu Jitsu journey, Sektor will be good for you.
Great jiu-jitsu gym! And even better instructors! Come in and roll with us!
I’ve been training at Sektor for a couple months now and honestly it has been the best experience!! Coach Jessie is very detailed in the teaching of the moves and breaks it down easily and smoothly enough to understand and perform. Would recommend this place to any friends, family members, or even anyone who has been curious in entering to a sport like this !!
Great gym ! Everyone is super helpful especially when you are new. Peter the manager is extremely helpful and attentive and all the coaches are super knowledgeable, and open mat Sundays are always full of great competition
I would like to thank Sektor Jiu Jitsu for being a wonderful and welcoming place to train at! The instructors here are very attentive and helpful. I’m so glad that I signed up here at this gym 😆
This place has the nicest people, I come to their open mats from time to time and everyone has always been so kind. The coaches the students always willing to help you with your jiu jitsu no matter your level.
We had an opportunity to cross train at Sektor Rowland Heights today, both kid’s & adults class. We had a great time. Coaches are very helpful and pay very close attention to the kid’s safety during sparring. As for adult class, everyone works together and help each other get better. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend visiting this place.
Our boys, Max and Nikita love coming here to practice! Although it is a long drive for us, it is worth it for the welcoming and nurturing environment at Sektor JJ. Thank you for maintaining such a wonderful community and place to be, we will always make time to take the boys to train here! — Olga S.
I attend the Thursday night women’s Brazilian jiu-jitsu class and really enjoy it. Coach Elle is clear in her teaching and very patient. The class size is usually around 10 women, so it’s not crowded or intimidating and the coach is able to spend time helping each person. There are some experienced students, but most in the class are new to BJJ. Everyone is respectful and tries to be mindful of skill level and injuries when drilling and rolling. If you’re a female looking for a relaxed and supportive environment to learn BJJ with other women, I highly recommend checking out this class.
After months of my husband’s relentless efforts to convince me to try jiu jitsu, I finally gave in and checked out their Thursday Women’s Only class! I was immediately drawn in to their welcoming energy and it was truly a non-judgment zone, which is helpful for a beginner like me. The coaches there are such great leaders and they’re very kind. Plus, I appreciate that the facility is dog friendly too. I always bring my dogs to watch my husband train now!
I've been to Sektor for open mat 3 times so far, as a visitor. They've had a session for gi as well as for nogi. It's a clean space, and each time it's been good vibes, friendly people. All affiliations are welcome, so I also appreciate that it's a place where I've gotten to meet and connect with others in the local jiu jitsu community. Thank you Sektor Jiu Jitsu for hosting!
I stopped by to train at Sektor in Rowland Heights during my vacation, and I had a great experience! I've trained BJJ for 5 years, and I was impressed with the class. Everyone is so nice, and they promote a family like atmosphere. 100% recommend!
It's a great jiu jitsu gym for gi and no gi. Family oriented and everyone is super friendly. Since I've started training here I've learned a lot and have amazing training partners. Whether you're looking to learn a new activity or looking for a competitive environment to push your jiu jitsu to the next level sektor is the place to go. Super inclusive environment where everyone is welcome.
So my son has been goin to sektor for almost 6 months now. He loves it. The staff/coaches are really amazing and cater to the different age/personalities of each child. But probably the best part of it all is the sense of family/community they instill into their program ... You wouldn't think of jiujitsu as a team sport, but they make it feel that way. My son is improving every week. Their scheduling is kid friendly as well and shouldn't be a problem for most working parents . Highly recommend sektor jiujitsu!
I put my 7 year old son into the kids program at Sektor and have been thoroughly impressed by the confidence and skills he’s gained. Coach Peter and Jesse run a very clean, friendly, and professional establishment. Their teaching system allowed my son as a newcomer to slowly integrate into sparring aspect of jiu jitsu by playing fun games that teach sportsmanship and tenacity. I would highly recommend this school for any child or adult.
I started taking my daughter here about 5 months ago and I am incredibly happy with Sektor Rowland Heights and their team. Coach Peter and coach Jesse are very skilled and patient when teaching the kids. The growth my daughter has had from starting until now has been incredible. She has learned so much from them and has already had the opportunity to compete in her first tournament. Happy with the support of her coaches and staff! It is such a family friendly environment, I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else! Thanks Sektor Rowland heights!
The technique that I have learned here has changed my overall jujitsu game. I’ve met a lot of new friends and overall just had a lot of fun here.
My kids have been attending Sektor since Feb 2023 and it’s been a great experience thus far. Coming from a non-BJJ background or experience, we are all learning together as a family. Coach Jessie and Coach Peter are knowledgeable and patient with the kids and encourage them to try their best. We are so happy we found Sektor and have become part of the family!
My daughter has been attending Sektor for almost 4 months now and she LOVES IT! She looks forward in attending her jujitsu class every day if she could. She has gained so much more confidence. Coach Peter and coach Jesse are awesome. They are very patient and dedicated with the kids. All the parents are very nice and friendly, everyone makes you feel welcomed. Thank you guys for everything you do for our kids.
Good place to learn BJJ skills
My main training location is the Chino location. But every Sunday I have been going to the Rowland heights location for their open mat. The facility in Rowland heights is everything you need to get started in jiujitsu or to continue your jiu-jitsu journey. Instructors who are knowledgeable and patient, a clean restroom, good mat space, changing rooms, and friendly but hungry to learn training partners. If interested, I would definitely recommend.
I'm from the corona sektor and I wanted to check this out and I found it really fun and enjoyable. Jesse was so respectful and welcoming when I first walked through the doors and he a great instructor, would recommend if you'd want to try Jiu-Jitsu if you live in the area
If you’re curious about learning BJJ, don’t hesitate to come to this location! You can find a home here regardless of what level you are. I’m a beginner who had 0 martial arts experience prior to this. The beginner adult classes with Peter have been a positive learning experience. It’s been fun too! The community here was been welcoming & the facility is clean. I was intimidated to start this journey, but I’m glad I went for it. Sign up for a free trial. You have nothing to lose!
I’ve had the pleasure of training with some long time friends at an open mat here at Sektor Rowland. The open mat was lively and everyone was very welcoming! Great atmosphere and a great spot to grow BJJ in my hometown. Cannot wait to be back.
I came in for an open mat and had a great experience. Very welcoming and kind front desk employee that showed me the ropes (restroom, changing area etc). Solid rolls on the mats both gi and no gi with plenty of space. I will definitely be back for another open mat!
Really good gym plus open mat on Sundays
Great new gym with high level instruction. Super welcoming to beginners as well, highly recommend to check it out whether you have trained for a couple years or are just starting out in you martial arts journey!
I'm not the most athletic guy and didn't have any jiu jitsu experience, nonetheless any martial arts skills, so I was quite intimidated joining a class. However, after joining my first class I'm so glad I had overcome my fear and joined! Both staff and the people in the classes overall create a welcoming and safe environment to learn. Staff's incredibly patient and breaks down the moves so that they are simple to understand. They also take the time to make sure you learn techniques properly. I took their beginner morning classes to get the basics down and I'm planning on joining the afternoon sessions in the coming weeks. I learn something new in each class and have lots of fun doing it! I honestly didn't think I would enjoy the classes as much as I do. Plus I'm also a huge fan of action films, so I get super stoked when I recognize moves we learned in films (just recognized moves in John Wick and Kill Bill the other day). I'm excited to continue my training and learn even more! Facilities are also super clean and you can tell their staff takes pride in what they do and care for their students. Huge fan of this gym and I couldn't recommend a better place to train! On the fence? You should try their 7 day free trial that they offer, but I promise you that you'll be wanting to come back and that it's worth every penny for sure!
I’ve been been a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner on and off for approximately 7 years. I heard about Sektor in Rowland Heights and I became interested. During the 7 day free trial I knew I found my new home gym. Peter was so respectful and welcoming when I first walked through the doors at Sektor. Peter is a welcoming and respectful person. Peter is a jiu-Jitsu practitioner himself, and his knowledge of the art is the reason why he runs a successful Jiu-Jitsu gym. Coach Jessie is not only a great practitioner himself, but he is also a great coach, he is able to do both! He’s is committed to his students and pays attention to detail. He has a talent to teach and explain the move/moves of the days and makes sure every student drills them correctly. If a student is having difficulty with a move/technique, he is patience to spend as much time as necessary with each student until they understand. I didn’t get the itch to compete until recently. I’ve only competed twice, and one of the those times was under Coach Jessie in December 2022. Coach Jessie and the students at Sektor really prepared me for my tournament in San Diego, CA and they helped me win 1st place. For that tournament, I was the only competitor from my gym, but coach Jessie still made that one and a half hour drive to coach just one student. Coach Jessie put on a gi, warmed up with me, and drilled some moves before my matches. If that ain’t a coach, I don’t know what is! And the students are amazing! There are no egos. Everyone is willing to go out of their way and help each other improve. There is a healthy competitive environment and no one is out to hurt one another. If you’re trying to get into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for a healthier lifestyle, a hobby, self-defense, and want to do some competition, Sektor in Rowland Heights is the spot!
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Peter and Jesse are really patient with the kids. Julie at the front desk is also very nice with kids. We love how clean and big the gym is and how we can stay to keep an eye to the kids so closely, we couldn't find something like this in other gyms. The price is also fair and it's great how the kids can stay a little bit after class to play with their partners. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Visited Sektor's New Years Day open mat since I happened to be in town. Their open mat is open to the public and they were very welcoming and friendly to us visitors! I always appreciate gyms that have free and public open mats to provide a place for people to come together for jiu jitsu! Great for the jiu jitsu community. I visited their location in Chino Hills a few years ago and remembered they were also very friendly and welcoming even though I was a visitor. The instruction/class was cool, and their students were all very good. Seems like they expanded and have several locations now, which means they're doing something right and doing well! Recommend a visit!
I’ve trained at this location for open mats for the past month. Very clean facility and the staff is friendly. Always have a good time here.
Sektor opened up nearby and our good friends go to their sister gym, so they told us there was one closer to us and that they highly recommend our 7 year old try it. I read so many things about how jiu-jitsu is really beneficial for kids. We did the one week trial to check it out and now we've been in for 4 months, we don't regret it for a second. Professor Jesse and Coach Peter are such good people. They show authority without demanding it, the kids just love them and listen to them so easily. They're so good with the kids, teaching them respect, discipline, etc and they're actually silly and funny too. I love the format of the classes. It starts off with warm ups, then learning techniques and moves, then some jiu-jitsu related games then sparing, then a game if there's more time. My 7 year old never argues with me when I say it's time to go to jiu-jitsu. He loves it! And the comraderie amongst the kids really pulls my heart strings. Even the parents, they're all so nice and chill. It's an amazingly comfortable, intimate and supportive community. I highly recommend Sektor Jiu-jitsu in Rowland Heights! Some of the moms are trying to convince me to join too, lol.
I Stopped by this gym to get some training great hospitality and a nice training environment
Love Sektor Jiu Jitsu! I've been training with them for a few years now at the Chino location, and was excited to hear they were opening a new location in Rowland Heights. Jesse and Peter are great coaches - very attentive and have a great passion for their students, sport and community. Instructors and students are all very friendly and do their best to help each other reach new heights.
Contacted them for more details on the kids classes for our 8 & 10 year olds. I first spoke to Julie and she offered us a 7-day free trial, which is their current promotion at this writing time. She was really helpful and informative. Classes are offered every day for adults and/or kids. Registration fees are required, but it includes a Gi uniform (robe, pants, & belt) & a rash guard set (fitted moisture wicking t-shirt and shorts) for training days without the Gi uniform. Billing is monthly for a 2-days/week lowest rate, 3-days/week, or unlimited classes per month at the highest rate. Private lessons are also available. Students can cross train at other Sektor gyms located in Chino Hills & Corona. The kids class is an hour beginning with warm-ups, then technique lesson/practice, and concludes with optional sparring and/or other exercises/training games. Kids are usually paired up and rotated according to weight and size, but are also free to choose at times. Kids classes are held on Monday - Friday at 4.30pm and Saturday at 10am. Halfway into our trial period, our kids were hooked (pun intended). Sektor was quickly approved as a vendor for our Granite Mountain Charter School and we were able to use both our kids' student funds to pay for all their classes for this school year. (Yay, free BJJ!) We are currently on the Unlimited classes rate, attending 4-5 times a week. Thank you for making the registration process easy and seamless, Julie and Peter! We appreciate it. The learning environment here is amazing. Positive vibes all around. Professor Jesse (black belt) and Coach/Owner Peter (Blue belt) are both kind, dedicated, patient and great motivators and mentors to the kids. Our kids have learned so much over the last month! Not only did they learn about Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, they are also learning about discipline, pushing their limits, discovering their strength, self defense and making new friends. I can't say enough about this place and I highly recommend it. We are so grateful to be a part of the wonderful growing family of Sektor Jiu Jitsu Rowland Heights!
So awesome that we now have a Sektor in Rowland Heights! Sektor has a good structured training program for both kids & adults. Jesse is a great teacher who strives to continue to learn and Peter has a great passion for Jiujitsu & will eventually be a good instructor too. Sektor is a safe training space & great technique taught each class. Get your sweat in, try a class or come visit during an open mat every Sunday before noon! One other great thing about being a student member at Sektor Rowland Heights, you are also welcome to visit Chino and Corona locations 🔥
Amazing gym!!!! Jesse is a great instructor, he is patient and gets down to detail when teaching technique. 10/10 reccomend.
My kids (ages 6 and 5) LOVE going to training. Coach Jesse and Coach Peter always make class a fun environment for our kids and are SSSOOO patient with all of them. I love that the games they incorporate are relatable to jiu jitsu. Sektor Jiu Jitsu has become a family affair now and my husband and I both train right after the kids class. After having 4 kids back to back with no exercise during that time, it was difficult to keep up in the beginning, but Coach Jesse is very encouraging and it pushed me to break through those limits. Jiu jitsu has given me and my family confidence and a passion to share together and I thank Sektor, Coach Jesse, and Coach Peter for that!
One of the cleanest Jiu Jitsu gyms around! Also everyone is super friendly & makes training worthwhile. Definitely check out this gym if you want to train of thinking of training BJJ!
I have been training Jiu Jitsu for years, along with the rest of my family, and was thoroughly impressed with the instruction at Sektor. The instructor, Jesse, was great! Not only did he teach an amazing lesson, but was incredibly helpful with any questions his students had. Whether you're looking to compete or just training for fun then this place is to notch. I was sold my first time in the door, and I'm sure you will be, too!
Sektor Jiu Jitsu Rowland Heights has so much to offer to the community, Bringing kids together against Bullying, building more confidence in them and having fun while Doing it! The staff is very friendly, kind and attentive.Academy is always neat and clean. With an incredible staff and exceptional community, Sektor- Rowland Heights is the best Jiu-Jitsu gym around !
Great facility and amazing staff. They are all so friendly and welcoming! Peter and Jesse are great instructors. Julie, at the front desk is very sweet and accommodating as well. My first experience definitely made me want to come back. I look forward to training here. Thank you guys!
This gym is amazing! The coaches here are great. I was nervous at first during my first session but the coaches really made it fun. This place is cool because everything is new and the space is so big and clean. Have an open mind and just try a class! You won’t regret it!! :)
As an absolute beginner to the craft of BJJ I’ve always been intimidated to roll w/ my fellow peers. However, being an avid fan of MMA, I was initially intrigued when I saw the banners of Sektor coming into my neighborhood and decided to give the free week a try. I was greeted by instructor Peter and was surprised to his calm/kind nature. I felt at ease and was happy that I had the courage to give BJJ a try. I’m now a month in and can say I’ve learned a lot but still have long ways to go. I appreciate the patience of the staff for teaching me the art of BJJ. I will be forever grateful. Thank you so much!
Great vibes at this school! Even though this gym is new I can already see the community building amongst all the students. Everyone was very welcoming and the instructors were very helpful towards me and kids - overall great place to train. Definitely drop by if you're looking for a new and challenging hobby.
Sektor Jiu Jitsu has been around for many years and recently just expanded their location to Rowland Heights. Amazing teachers and staff , and the matts are nice and clean. Check them out if you are in the area and looking to get started in this amazing sport!
I recently started my BJJ journey. It can be daunting especially a sport like BJJ but Sektor's staff (Professor Jesse, Coach Peter & Julie the receptionist) and members have been exceptionally welcoming, kind and professional. They have made the journey thus far fun, educational and empowering. If you're new and contemplating about starting, don't. They are here to help. I look forward to how this martial arts will challenge and grow me. Glad to be in this community to thrive in
Great teachers!, I have been going to there no gi class there nice, kinda and awesome and you guys should give it a try!!🤙🤙 much love for them
When I moved back down to SoCal, I wanted to pursue a difficult, but fulfilling hobby. I was near a few jiu-jitsu schools and was interested in Sektor because it was new to the area (like me!). I had originally planned to check out a few schools, but the culture of this school made picking Sektor an immediate and easy decision. Coaches Peter and Jesse are extremely hospitable, patient, and generous. If you're like me and you're intimidated by certain movements or techniques, they'll take extremely good care of you with their detailed guidance. Plus, the school is extremely well-maintained and clean (a huge plus). It's been an absolute pleasure to be here and I look forward to the future training sessions with my great training partners. Love supporting places like this.
Great place for beginners looking to start Jiu Jitsu but also a good place if you’re looking to be challenged 👊🏻
Been bringing My son (6 years old) here for a month now, and he LOVES going to the kids class! If he could go everyday, he would. We make our way all the way from Chino at least 4 days a week and don't regret it one bit. Julie at the front desk has been so kind and helpful. My other little ones love playing with her. Coach Jesse and Coach Peter are amazing and extremely patient with the kids and run a great program that's welcoming and are able to break things down in ways that kids can understand. My wife and I love the culture here, and I believe it's what sets this gym apart from the others. My son has made a many new friends and all the parents have become friends/family as well. Also my 5 year old daughter just started and her experience has been absolutely positive. She loves it so much and she’s made so many new friends.
I enrolled my 4 year old and 6 year old about a month ago. I was expecting that to take them twice a week. The coaches were super accommadating especially for kids so young. Other parents were very supportive and the experience has been great. We are attending 4-5 times a week now and its been great to see the kids learn discipline and form new friendships with their classmates.
They’re super patient with all the kids. It’s definitely need for my kids
I decided to sign my daughter of 11 yr of age. Let me say she has built more confidence and respect throughout the 2 months she's been going. We are looking forward to Jayde participating in tournaments in the future. Coach Peter and Jessie are excellent with the kids and spend time with each kid individually. They treat everyone like family. Thank you Sektor. I highly recommend Sektor to all family and friends.
Can’t say enough good things about everyone at Sektor in Rowland Heights. From day one they’ve been so nice, welcoming and most importantly, patient with my kids. My kids would go everyday if they could… they love learning new moves and are challenged but they have a lot of fun and really enjoy it.
Jesse is a great coach, his desire to win not only goes for himself, but his students also. A friendly atmosphere with strong training. Give it a shot, you won’t regret it
