Caveirnha has been such a Positive, Inspiring, and Motivational Movement within our community and my son Seth's Jiu-Jitsu training. We've been warmly Greeted and Welcomed into their Studio with their Professional and Passionate Manners from the Owner and Instructors. My son who's 10 years old was interested right away to join Caveirnha after his classmate had joined and spoke highly of their Jiu-Jitsu classes. They truly Care for all their hard working students that range from all ages with many Boys and Girls by always having many instructors to monitor Safety and Properly teach the Guidelines and the Art form of Jiu-Jitsu in a Positive Aspect! Every instructor makes sure that the parents are all involved within the Warm and Special community they've built. I've seen the instructor Andrew teach his students after warm ups by having them focus not only in the Physical Sport but also teaching the Brazilian and Japanese terminology of each Movement, the Points that are earned from each Tackle, and having each student understand Step-By-Step how to practice Safely and Defend by Respecting the Tap. There's always been atleast 4 Instructors during my son's 6pm class on the weekdays to respectfully teach the True Art form of Jiu-Jitsu by Guiding and continously Motivating their students. They've made a Positive Influence in my son's life by teaching him how to be more respectful and to apply the Dojo Etiquette into his daily life and training. The Students and Staff are so Dedicated, Focused, and Supportive to everyone and Love seeing the students having Fun! Joining Caveirnha Jiu-Jitsu has been a Great way for us to be apart of a Healthy and Active Community that help build a Strong Foundation for Self Confidence and Self Defense for their Students Lives which every parent Appreciates and is Gracious for Andrew and his Wonderful Team. I can recommend this place either for children or adults like me to learn to defend in a critical situation such a bulling at school or in the streets. Both professors are very friendly and respectful with all the students. As an adult in my 40+ that struggle in a confidence to learn new techniques, my professors have all the time patience to teach me. So come and enjoy this peacefully place.

Had my first Jiu Jitsu class here with Professors Andrew and James and was instantly welcomed! If your looking for a new gym or a place to start this is the gym to come too! From the family environment to the curriculum and the training partners themselves I’d recommend this place 10/10. No egos just a solid group of adults and kids alike trying to get better and build as a team but as well as individuals.

Our kids just begun to join this academy few months back and the impact has been amazing, they become more confident, motivated, disciplined, and respectful. Also, this place welcome us like family. Shout out to Prof. Andrew, Prof. James and whole most talented team of coaches (who always greet literally each and everyone in the room), their teaching strategy has been proven effective, especially 1-on-1 challenge which always such a great method to get the kids familiar with mental readiness for tournaments.

If you want your kids to let out their energy while learning techniques and having fun at the same time, this is the place! My daughter is such a girly girl yet loves coming to class to show how tough she truly is 💪. I just enrolled my 4 year old son as well since he kept wanting to jump in the mat everytime sister did. Great professors. Love how they teach kids discipline and self defense at the same time. They welcome you like family. I recommend to all my friends and family.

I’ve known Professor Andrew and staff for many years. This academy has everything you’d want in a BJJ experience. Staff is very knowledgeable and the training environment is challenging, but fun. I would highly recommend checking his practice out and meeting everybody there!

Nov 2023 update: It's my pleasure to visit Caveirinha Familly again. Here are some more observations I made during my stay: 1. Professor Andrew and Coach James are very observant, they pay attention to the smallest details and helped me improve my techniques on many occasions. 2. The students in the class have a good safety awareness and are great at matching the intensity of their sparring partners to keep the class injury free. 4. The class is very organized, everyone is always doing something, and not sitting around chitchatting. This is a great environment for learning and growing. Special thanks to Coach James for helping me refine my game, "pressure and control", I will keep this in mind. July 2023 I’ve trained at more than a dozen of gyms, and I can say definitively that Caveirinha is one of the best gyms from my experience. Warmup exercises that serve a practical purpose, well structured lessons that help reinforce the fundamentals, everything is just great, love it! Special thanks to Professor Andrew and Coach James for your warm welcome and valuable lessons during my two week visit, and a shout out to the students, y’all are awesome to train with!

Caveirinha Jiu Jitsu in Rowland Heights is a professional and welcoming academy! Professor Andrew always takes his time to greet and speak with everyone that enters the gym. He has excellent communication skills and teaches efficiently. Coach James, coach Nadia and coach Roman all have great attitudes towards learning and teaching! I have been taking my three kids to Caveirinha Jiujitsu the last 6 months and they love it. My son 10, daughters 8 & 4 first struggled getting into the class and techniques, but thank you to the patience and support from their professor Andrew and all of the coaches they quickly felt comfortable and eager to attend every class. They are above all super patient with my 4 year old in the juniors class. She doesn't like trying new things and struggles with losing, but both professor Andrew and coach James always help her step by step even doing the stretches or new technique with her so she feels their support. This jiujitsu academy has helped my 3 kids feel much more secure about themselves, as well as my husband and I knowing they are gaining such amazing knowledge about the art of jiujitsu and seeing the self confidence brings us so much comfort!! Best decision we made putting our three kids in such a wonderful and family oriented academy! Started training with professor Andrew and the adults class back in April 2022. I learned a lot and enjoyed everyone I trained with. Professor Andrew and the coaches push you while also making sure you understand fundamentals before anything! 10/10 environment and badass coaches. Overall very fun, kept very clean and very professional!

Since joining the academy the past year, the training atmosphere continues to be supportive, motivational and respectful. Professor Andrew and the coaches are very cordial and welcoming to new, returning and visiting students. The instructors are attentive to the needs and level of each student by breaking down techniques step by step and partnering them with a teammate at a similar rank and weight. I highly recommend this academy for anyone starting their BJJ journey. Curriculum is always updating, improving and expanding!

Professor Andrew from 2424 Fullerton Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748. Is so far one of the best teachers for this sport. He has patience to deal with the kids and treats everyone like a family member. Also the team he has created to help train is on another level. ANDREW AND THE TEAM are true professional. I have been to multiple academy in the past and none of them compare with professor Andrew. Can't wait for my son and I to grow with this family. Thank Andrew and the team for everything you do!!!! Also James keep up the morning session's. If anyone is looking ro train before work or to take an early lunch come down to train 10am to 11am with the James THE MAN!!!

Attention to detail, welcoming, among other things... no one better like him and his team over at CJJF RH. Family vibe, great people...never a dull moment here. I began my Jui Jitsu journey at the Caveirinha Academy back in Jan as a plan to try something new for getting back into shape. I’m a dad and was a bit intimidated about joining a “martial arts” gym at my age but I’m glad I did it. The Caveirinha team and Professor Andrew made the experience very welcoming and have allowed me to feel immediately at home with my experience. Everyone is nice and willing to help you improve. You don’t have to worry about getting clobbered by rolling with super competitive practitioners here. I’m learning lots of useful techniques that can be applied in real life situations. And im able to compete against other students who are higher level and physically larger than me and still survive. I highly recommend the Caveirinha Academy if your local and want to learn real Jui Jitsu for the first time. It will definitely get you in shape plus more.

We unplugged our kids and decided to get them active and prepped for middle school/high school PE. Three of our kids are enrolled in the Jr class and just loves it. They have discovered themselves and their physical body's ability with the aid of Caveirinha's. Professor Andrew knows his stuff and has many of his own advanced students assisting and coaching. They also offer a free 1 day class.

By far the best academy I've ever been to. I have been to quite a few and though they were good, they were all missing something. Whatever those might have been missing, this academy has. There is a great curriculum that progresses through the week that really helps you learn the techniques, the training schedule is great, the mats are always clean, and everybody is helpful and friendly. Professor Andrew is knowledgeable, helpful, and overall a great instructor! He, the coaches, and the rest of the team really make you feel a sense of camaraderie. I'm definitely telling everybody I know to start training here!

Awesome Professor!!! I was a total beginner not knowing a thing about jujitsu. Until I met the professor and the rest of the students and bonded with them pretty quickly. In less than a month I became confident and proficient in sparring with them.The professor is really passionate about teaching the students new skills. He wont advance them until the students are ready and have earned their stripes. He also teaches children and helps them learn the basics. This school is the best to learn jiujitsu if your a beginner and also if your advanced! Highly recommend!

I’ve been training here since January and I couldn’t be happier with my experience at this academy. Professor Andrew is very knowledgeable and takes the time to teach in a patient and proper manner. The academy has a great team atmosphere and everyone helps each other out. There are no big egos training here, which I really like, because I cannot afford to get injured by someone trying to show off their newest submission. Coach Roman is great as well, he rolls at my pace and pushes me to be better.

Hands down great first experience with a Jiu Jitsu studio. My son is 7 years old. He's not only extremely engaged with every session but he's been having a great time. The owners are very easy to communicate with and has always felt like a very family oriented place. Highly recommended for parents to take their kids to.

Walking into the gym, Professor Andrew happily greeted me and got me signed up for my first intro class despite being in the middle of class. I have been reluctant to join a martial art, but upon meeting the professor and gauging the enthusiasm from other students, I knew it was worth a try. He was patient in breaking down the technique, and the students were also welcoming. I would reccomend this academy to anyone seeking knowledge in self defense, and those looking into a combat sport.

I have been training here for about a month and I have to say it has been one of the best decisions I've made in a while. The academy is well kept, it has plenty of space to get training in and the atmosphere is very welcoming! Everyone at the academy is willing to help each other learn and work towards the goal of getting better. The Instructor is very knowledgeable in the art of Jiu Jitsu. For whatever you're reasons are, if you're looking to loose weight, learn self defense, or just have a great workout out, this is the place to do it. The training may seem intimidating to many but I can assure you its 100% it is worth it! A++++++

I train at another school about an hour away but I was in town and dropped by the school. The academy itself is a good size and has some nice mat space, and is very clean. I arrived early enough to see the kids classes before I trained. The professor was very knowledgable and good with the kids. When adult classes started i felt completely welcomed and the Black belt was very detailed in his teaching which was a huge plus for me. I will definitely be back for some rolls and recommend anyone in the area to give them a try.
