The teachers (especially Mr. Tonio) do an excellent job breaking down the skills and giving the students time to practice the movements with the adults then with their peers. Sean, Andy, Jackson, and all the instructors at Sektor are amazing. Whether you're a 6 year old or 56 year old you'll find a friendly, professional, challenging, and safe environment. Laura is the lady behind the front desk, she's awesome. Everyone there seems to have the common goal of helping their students succeed, in jiu jitsu and in life! They do special classes for those with special needs that I think is awesome. I've been training jiu-jitsu for 15 years and Sektor HQ is one of the best gyms I've ever had the pleasure of rolling at. I train there from time to time but my 19 year old son is a student there that trains many times each week. What a great school and GREAT location!

Our son is special needs and per his physician Jiu jitsu was recommended to help him with his behavior and gross motor skills. He is disruptive and a challenge to all, but is loving, sweet, intelligent and sensitive. We found Sektor after trying several places that didn't cater to children with special needs. As a mother you always pray your child is treated fairly with an understanding that they can't always perform or behave like their peers of the same age. It is the few out there who truly dedicate their time, patience, understanding and commitment to children out there similiar to my son. Sensei Dana and Sensei Josh demonstrated all of that with a level of experience and patience with Special Needs children. Its the very few who have that ability. My son comes home happy and has nothing but love for his "friends" Dana & Josh. For parents of special needs children Sensei Josh and Sensei Dana are my recommendations. I was referred to Sektor by a friend who told me they offer a class for special needs children. I enrolled my son and was very impressed by all the staff and instructors. They were very caring and took great lengths to include and work with children at various levels of abilities. Businesses and staff like these allow parents of special needs kids to have their children participate in activities which they may not normally be able to in other settings. Highly recommend!

I've been bringing my Daughter here for just over a year now. A matter of fact I just renewed her contract for another 12 months. when I aksed her if she wanted to train at a different school she said, "No I love Sektor." But besides her affection for Sektor the instruction here in Jiu-jitus is top notch, world class hands down comparable to any world class Jiu-jitsu acadmey. Sean Roberts and his army of black belts run the kids classes, and they run it well. Teaching great fundamentals and all the new modern jiu jitsu techniques you see these days. The kids group is very good and they have a core group of kids who are competative in tournaments and do very well. The Mat space here is huge one of the largest I've ever seen in Southern California. Great Academy, great Professors/instructors/coaches. The academy is located in a great area with huge parking lot, has mutliple restrooms and changing rooms, plenty of bleacher seating for all parents or even room if you bring your own chair to lounge and watch as the kids train. Excited for year 2!

Highly recommend. Felt welcomed on my first day. Was hesitant to stop by because I didn’t know anyone there. Felt welcomed by EVERYONE including the black belts. The instructor took the time to pair me up with someone so I didn’t have to stand by myself and just watch. I was impressed at the level of detail they focus on when teaching techniques. The simplest tweaks make a whole world of a difference If you are on the fence of stopping by I HIGHLY recommend that you do!

Very welcoming environment with great instructors that care about their students! Everyone is super friendly here. Sean loves helping students with any questions they may have about a technique or an issue they come across while sparring. The vibe here is very chill, filled mostly with hobbyists looking to challenge themselves with a tournament every now and then. More and more women have been signing up recently, but the men here are also very careful with watching their pressure when sparring with a person much smaller than them. The instructors here don't put up with bullies. The kids are also crazy good!! So, I have no issue with finding great training partners!

I can't say enough about Sektor. I love the professors, the people I train with, the facility, the vibe- I love it all. I am new to BJJ. I started 2 months ago. As a women joining a male dominant sport, I was extremely nervous; but from the moment I stepped into this gym they made me feel welcomed. First of all, I have to say a huge thank you to Sean and his mom Laura! My son used attend jiu jitsu here back when it was Ralph Gracie. I recently contacted Laura to see if they could do a self defense class for a group of girls on my daughters softball team, a handful of which are heading off to college over the next few weeks. She and Sean were able to set up a class for us and it was absolutely awesome! Sean provided the girls with some great self defense moves. They came away so much more confident and us parents feel much better sending them off knowing that they are able to defend themselves if they ever need to. Thank you Sean and Laura!

I trained at Sektor JJ for a year. I moved out of state and unfortunately had to leave to another school. But this is a special group of people. Everybody is super nice and skillful. Professor Sean Roberts is funny, sometimes goofy, but his bjj IQ is off the charts and to this day I my skills come from things I learned from him. Professor Gabriel Costa is super nice, he makes sure you understand the fundamentals. Laura is great and she always makes sure people feel welcomed. Whether you plan to compete; train regularly to be in good shape or find a bjj school for kids, I'd recommend Sektor any day.

For everyone -- male, female, adults, kids, high level competitors, beginners. You have the vibe -- that matters SO much in this sport! Chino Hills is lucky to have such a solid gym with extremely knowledgeable and experienced Professors in Sean Roberts and Gabriel Costa, who are also profoundly kind and approachable teachers. They are there for the love of the sport and everyone in the gym, without getting caught up in the implementing all sorts of policies and high tech stuff. It's professional yet fun. I'm a blue belt who competes often and so far they have showed interesting and practical techniques that I will be able to use in tournaments. On top of all that, the price is so affordable for unlimited classes at under $150, when a lot of the gyms charge $100 more than that! Definitely worth checking out...

Sektor is a great place for children and for adults to learn a great discipline. We enrolled our twin boys a little over a year ago and they love it. The professors are all great with children and they do an excellent job focusing on things the kids can improve on as well as having positive reinforcement of the things they do well. Our boys have competed in 6 different tournaments and they get a great amount of support from the professors at each tournament.
