Top gym, I've loved my time here. Great coaches, I've learnt so much, no egos and a really warm and welcoming bunch. Great vibe and big recommend 👌
Very high level jiu jitsu and a great environment to train in. Highly recommend for anyone trying to develop their BJJ in aberdeen.
I was anxious at first, as most people are, about trying something totally new but I settled in quickly at SBG, thanks to the friendly atmosphere that has been cultivated there. The beginners course is ideal for getting people acquainted with the main positions in bjj and also a space to learn how to be a good training partner for others. There's a wide range of experience levels at the gym, making it a suitable place for people who just want a new hobby to people who want to sharpen their skills for competition alike. There is a wide range of classes available, including gi, no gi, wrestling, leg lock and competition specific classes. I can't reccomend the place enough!
Dropped in for a no gi fundamentals class when I was visiting the area. Ross and the team were very welcoming in the class. Good details when teaching, if you are in the area I definitely recommend the club.
Posted 2 years agoI wanted to start something new while in Aberdeen, so I tried out their 8-week beginner's course. The best decision I made in a long time. Learned a lot and fell in love with the sport. I then attended their regular classes for about 4 months, before leaving Aberdeen. They have both gi and no-gi classes (and wrestling on Sundays) and they offer them every single day of the week (sometimes two a day: morning and evening), so it's very convenient to attend regardless of your schedule. Instruction is top-notch. The main instructor, Ross, is incredibly knowledgeable, but also very kind and generous with his time. The atmosphere is very good, which really makes it a fun and welcoming environment. Couldn't recommend it more!
Awesome place to train. Very friendly group of people who are always willing to help a newbie out. Been training here for a few months now after coming through one of the beginners blocks. Great idea and makes the transition to the regular classes so much easier. Ross is an excellent coach. He makes training really enjoyable and always ensures that everyone feels welcome.
Started training last year at SBG Aberdeen as a complete beginner to BJJ. Fundamental classes allowed me to gain a basic understanding of the core movements at my own pace. Very welcoming atmosphere with excellent coaching and supportive training partners. Training at SBG Aberdeen is fun, challenging and set up well. Highly recommended.
