Self Defense | Savage Krav Maga, Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing and Fitness
I went to an intense self defense training offered by an organization in part by the Wounded Warrior Project and it was amazing. We were taught real life moves and techniques that could save our lives and allows us to live another day. We were allowed to ask questions that facilitated new techniques we would learn that would keep us safe and make us feel safe and I’m grateful for that. It didn’t hurt that one of my instructors was the female version of Jean Claude Van dam so it was amazing to watch her kick but and ask questions later. Lol. If you’re on the fence about learning self defense techniques to make you feel a safer stronger, GET OFF NOW and get into a class. It was worth every minute we spent sparing.
Posted 3 years agoAfter reviewing several places around the Arlington/Mansfield area, I decided that Savage was the best fit for me. I wanted classes with adult not children, I want to learn how to protect myself in a real world situation, and I wanted to get back into better shape. The classes do allow children, but there are more adults, which I appreciate. They teach you real world protection. Yes, you can get belts and move up in rank, but you could defend yourself or a loved one if an attack happened. I am only 2 weeks in and have already learned things that could protect me! I huffed and puffed my first class. But the instructors were super supportive and encouraging. Helping by offering suggestions and congratulating me along the way. This went for the students as well. Really great environment. No sales pressure. They explain the classes, the many class options, and allowed me to make a decision after going to an actual class!
Posted 5 years agoGreat place to go for all levels of experience even if you have never tried it before. After a year you'll look back and be amazed at what you have learned. From learning how to control your body movements to defending yourself against weapons. Savage has been a great place for my daughters and I to gain the tools we need to defend ourselves if ever attacked and need to control the situation . Also, it's a great workout too if your just looking for a fun way to get in shape!
Posted 7 years agoI've been training here for about a year. I've lost about 25 lbs. and am in the best shape of my life now. Some people (like me) are in there 40's and up, but there are also children and everyone in between. The training is great, but the coaches and fellow students are all super-supportive. It is kind of like one big family where no one is there to brag or show off. Everyone kind of celebrates the growth of everyone else. It's a great place to go to, for sure. *Also, while the Krav training is excellent, this gym also boasts Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Muy Thai, Boxing, Kali/Eskrima, and general fitness.
Posted 3 years agoI started going nearly 3 years ago as a way to stay in shape and better defend myself in real world situations. It wasn't long before I was hooked. I'm in the best shape of my life and I have learned techniques that make me confident in my ability to defend my family and myself.
