Very family friendly place to send your kids. Sagasu has truly worked with our twin boys who have ADHD with behavioral and emotional issues in groups. They teach respect and hard work, and truly expect their students and families to show that as well, which we love! It can be expensive, but we believe it is worth the cost, and have even planned to sign another 6-12 month contract when the time comes to renew.
My kids love summer camp and are always talking about how great Miss Katelynn is!
If you are looking for a place to have a birthday party this is IT!!! 100% Recommend. My son had his 9th birthday party here. The staff was amazing and took great care of us and handled everything you can ask for, kids had a blast and so did we!!
Awesome marital arts! Ken Baker Sensei teaches excellent classical Karate, Aikido, Kung fu and many more martial arts classes! Great place to train!!
My son and daughter have been going here for a year now. It was the absolute best decision and best investment we have ever made. Their confidence has risen, they love the challenge and take pride in practicing their skills. They are setting goals and working towards one day being a black belt. The self defense skills alone are worth the investment. Sagasu has become family to us and I am SO grateful for Gabe, Karen, Terrie, Coach Cole, Jeb and everyone who pours into my children with encouragement. Everyone goes above and beyond and we are just so happy to have found Sagasu. If your child is shy; lower self esteem or really ANY kid; I highly recommend Sagasu.
Great place for kids to learn martial arts
We had a phenomenal birthday party experience for my son here! It was one of the BEST and EASIEST experiences in birthday parties we have ever had with our kids, and so happy it was local and very reasonably priced for everything they did for us! They took care of pretty much everything i.e. games/activities, fun decorations, goodie bags (so cute and well done), food, set up and clean up (all we brought was the cake and the balloons). The facility was clean and the staff was very thorough in communicating with us for RSVPS and any questions we had, ordering the perfect amount of food, informing us which part of the party was coming next and making sure to let us know when to get pictures of all the epic moments during the party like cutting his cake with a samurai sword. Everyone we worked with was so professional, kind and considerate. The instructor that led the party did so with ease and with about 16 kids of various ages. He had a really great energy that kept all of them excited, entertained, and organized. It really was such a memorable time for our family and our guests. I would absolutely recommend SAGASU for any birthday party or lessons! What an incredible team!!!
From the first day, my son felt welcomed and excited to learn. Every time he comes in for his lessons ( he refers to it as his training ), everyone is happy to see him. He already feels like he's a part of something, and that's big.
We LOVE Sagasu! The people are friendly, helpful, and our kids have learned so much since starting their martial arts training there. Karen and Gabe treat everyone with the utmost respect and the children see it and learn it. They have such patience for the amount of kids they work with each day. I would recommend Sagasu to anyone looking to train or looking for a great after school program for your child/children!
My nephew went here for summer camp and loved every minute of it. He would get so excited talking about things they did and what he learned. I loved seeing the excitement on his face. We went to the trunk or treat event and the set up was amazing. The kids and adults were having a great time. This is a wonderful , safe place for kids to grow.
The staff at Sagasu martial arts in Leavenworth has a wonderful child development program for children of all ages. They have help hundreds of kids become disciplined, focused, become respectful, and get better grades. They have the best summer camp that promotes exciting fun in a safe environment all summer long. I highly recommend Sagasu for all your martial arts training needs.
Great people! A safe and fun - Mr Gabe, Ms Karen, and Ms Taylor - and everyone else - are a great team!
Adult class in the evenings is a blast. Jeb Chiles is the man and every training session I am learning something new. The value of what you get for the money paid can't be beat.
We miss our Sagasu family so much! By the time the military had moved us away from Leavenworth, we had all three of our children training in Tae Kwon Do at Sagasu! 3 years.
Sensei Karen is great to work with! She is so helpful, kind and joyful!! She's great with the students!

Great teachers that are motivated to instruct their students on principles of martial arts and provide good exercise routines for them.
Love Sagasu!! Great instructors and family like atmosphere. Highly recommend!!
My daughter and I had a fantastic experience at Sagasu Family Martial Arts. We participated in the youth SKILLZ program and through the positive, fun, and structured atmosphere created by all of the instructors where able to bolster my daughter's sense of discipline, teamwork, and confidence. I highly recommend Sagasu to anyone who is looking for a youth martial arts program that reinforces these values and prioritizes attitude and work ethic for first-time students!
This place is amazing place to take martial arts. They are really great with the children. My children are more respectful and disciplined. They staff is really good with the children and very positive. The price is very reasonable. I pay the family rate and everyone in my family can participate.
a great place to train with an excellent atmosphere. the instructors are professional and extremely knowledgeable.
My 8 year old has alot of fun, and more self discipline since starting karate. Friendly environment, lots of camps and activities to do.
Very laid back environment, Mrs Karen is very energetic and funny.
My son has been taking classes at Sagasu for about 6 years. The personnel is knowledgeable, friendly and fun. We love Sagasu!
They are great teachers and a wonderful school . They are fun and caring to the students and the families. Love being a part of their school.
We've been going several times a week over last few months. Our 8 year old daughter enjoys the classes and the environment. They offer a variety of programs and tailor to your child's individual skill level. I cannot stress enough how great the staff are as well. As a final plus, they have parent survival nights and camps that are great also.
We did a birthday party through Sagasu for my son’s 7th birthday. They are seriously amazing! They took care of everything and made my life so much easier. They even went to my son’s school and handed out his invitations along with a 10 min karate demonstration where the kids learned a few things. My son felt so special. He was so excited he got to cut his cake with a samarai sword that he bragged about it for weeks before the party. During the party, I have never seen kids have so much fun! They entertained them the entire time and the kids were completely engaged in all the activities. Even the ones that came in shy, they all jumped in and played. I couldn’t have asked for a better party for my little guy! I just asked my son what he thought of his party and he said “It was so fun! I give it 2,066 likes!” Thank you Sagasu for taking such good care of us!!
I am very happy to have found this place. It has a history and standards that I want to see when I think of the people and place that I want to be training my children. The staff always has a good attitude and are always guiding students through their word and deed on manners and respect.
My daughters took classes from Sagasu 2013-2016 and I have known the family running Sagasu since 2005 when I took some Qi Gong classes with them. Very good people and very knowledgeable!
My son attending for last 3yrs. We all love the instructors and greatly appreciate their services!! Do not hesitate to bring your kids/family! Anyone who thinks 128/mo is too expensive should stick to YouTube videos and see how much their kids learn.....
GREAT TEACHERS!!!! GREAT programs!! The best of the best!!!! VOLUNTEERING FOR THE EVENTS THEY HOLD ARE SO FUN!!!!😊😊😊😊!! We go to many places and ALWAYS HAVE A BLAST!!! The summer camps and ninja camps are incredibly awsome and fun to attend. Watching my son gain self control, and confidence and haveing fun is So worth going and becoming part of the family.
You aren't going to find instructors that are as dedicated than the ones at SAGASU. I'm so proud to have met them!
My family currently attends Sagasu and everyone loves it. We attend the Jujutsu classes and our son is in the Little Dragons class for children learning the basics. In the Jujutsu class what we learn is very practical and can be used immediately to defend ones self. As far as the children's class with our son, he has shown improvement with his behavior, balance, coordination and confidence. He loves to attend the class and thinks very highly of his instructors. We started off with the free trial and I was sold after the first night. We started in at 6 months and now paying yearly going twice a week. I find myself volunteering for any events they hold that I can volunteer for and try to help out whenever I can. They host different events like the carnival and the big Easter egg hunt in Leavenworth and you can find them at many other events the cities hold including demo performances at the county fairs in the area. It's a very family friendly environment and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
The more my daughter goes, the more iffy I feel. Here's the "bad" and the "good." 1. The instructors are great and incredibly patient with all the kids. 2. It is quite expensive ($128/month for two 30-min classes/week, while she takes two 1hr classes weekly of acrobatics and dance [elsewhere] and it only costs $95/month). 3. The class sizes are great (~12 kids) 4. You have to sign a contract. 5. They try to make you feel like "part of the Sagasu family." 6. Every 8 classes or so, your child can "test" to the next belt (for $35). Granted, they all do the same thing in class, so it's really just a confidence booster; HOWEVER, the belt system for the younger kids has ZERO RELEVANCE to ability. The belt solely represents time and money spent. 7. They are not divided by ability, just by belt color. 8. Great facility and the instructors truly seem to have good experience and competency.
I had three safety incidents with my sons there. Yesterday my son needed water and there is not a water fountain in the facility. I would have purchased the water but they don't take debit card for water just your monthly payment so they would not give him a bottle of water. I wasn't going to have him continue his training dry heaving so we left. I was upset but this was the same issue I had a few weeks prior from the same person when he threw up from training. Trainers are good but the front staff needs to be knowledgeable of safety concerns for working out. Do not recommend for young students but older ones, sure. Update: it won't let me respond to you. First of all it was a medical issue so cost goes out the window but not to your staff. Respect is great but obviously you don't respect a child possibly having a medical emergency. At $159 a month you think I wouldn't pay $1 for water???? The response you put was not my words. I never said words don't mean anything. Obviously your staff is lacking in just the basics. I've found a much better studio that has been amazing. Good riddance Sagasu.
First Off I really do wish I could give Sagasu Family Martial arts a higher rating, but due to the circumstances, I most certainly can not! I went here many years ago and it was amazing place to learn and grow with the Baker family. Its not only how the management runs this facility now (seeming fairly chaotic) but the overall way in which they handle situations, especially what happens at their summer camp program. Today was my daughters first day of summer camp at Sagasu and also her last unfortunately. When I went to pick my daughter up she was happy to see me but also troubled at the same time. I could tell this on her face and she told me she had not had lunch today and only had a snack she had brought from home and also a $1 snack she had from the facility. I brought this to the attention of Karen, the current manager/owner and she seemed umempathetic about the whole situation and the fact an 8 year old hardly had access to any food throughout the day. I left and then came back awhile later after deciding from my daughter and also our family that this place was most certainly not a good fit for my daughter. I did however video and audio record the entire conversation and at the point where Karen even said in her own exact words on video "Its not an excuse, its not an excuse, I would be upset too if it were my daughter, I'm not saying its an excuse. But I do want you to understand the coaches position, they assumed that they had seen her eat snacks and stuff, the had assumed she has already finished her sandwich or something like that. So, that's what happened. I already talked to the coaches and the director about exactly what happened, because obviously that shouldn't happen. It comes across as neglectful and that's not the kinda place we run." Her exact words from the recording so it seems like that IS the type of place they are running unfortunately and I again am bothered by the fact I even have to use this platform to make sure others know how my daughters experience was here. They had time to call and ask this morning for my billing information to charge my credit card, but not enough time to call nor tell her mother or myself she didnt have food. To which we easily could have dropped something off for her to eat. I was even told after THEIR obvious mistake in this matter and negligence that I would still be charged the full amount of the week even if she only came today. So then I was forced to put a fraud alert on my card due to this incident. Again, Karen appeared to have 0 empathy in this matter and my daughter will not be returning to summer camp or martial arts classes at Sagasu. This may have been a rare incident but also again the way in which is was handled was unprofessional and inappropriate....
