Highly recommend this school. i was on vacation in Waikiki and looking for a place to drop in to train. Ron and the students were very welcoming, received some great instruction and live rolls.
Always good to train at this academy and see Ronn when I’m in Oahu visiting. Really good vibes & everyone is super welcoming. I always learn something new from the many nuggets of wisdom Ronn and his highly experienced upper belts share. Started my BJJ journey ~1.5 years ago and this academy will always be my go to when I’m in Oahu.
What an experience! I have NEVER seen a more welcoming community of jiu Jitsu athletes. Ron was an unreal teacher, I have never experienced a class run like that. I traveled in from Philly. If you are visiting and want a place to not only train, but to seriously learn, this is the place. Thank you Ron for coordinating with my better half to set this up. Oh don’t forget your Gi, and open mind. Also don’t be afraid this place is welcoming of all levels.
Dropped in to train while I was on a trip to Hawaii. As expected, it was top notch instruction from Prof Ronn. All of his students were welcoming and very friendly. They made me feel right at home. Overall great experience; I will definitely train here again whenever I am back in Hawaii
I was in Honolulu for a week and decided to drop in to train here, and I am really glad I did! Phenomenal vibes: everyone was super friendly, instruction was great, rolling was fun and informative, very clean mat. I will definitely be dropping in here when i am back in the area.

I trained for 2-3 months at RSA. Ronn and the rest of the teacher’s are extremely welcoming and kind. The teaching style is great and anytime I’m in Honolulu I will come back here for safe & fun rolls.
Excellent gym to train BJJ. Very welcoming and friendly for anyone travelling through the area that wants to drop in. Extremely high quality and attentive coaching in a relaxed environment, with plenty of rounds in both gi and no-gi depending on when you arrive (schedule Is available online). I would highly recommend this place for travellers, and if I lived in the area you can guarantee I would be a regular visitor here.
I trained here a couple of times while vacationing in Hawaii. Great gym- Ronn and his students create a very welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Looking forward to coming back sometime the future.
I had the most phenomenal experience dropping into the gym for a week while passing through Honolulu on business. Professor Ronn is one of the coolest Jiu Jistsu teachers I've met, in addition to being beyond accommodating for visitors such as myself. What makes this place so special is the coaches and students Professor Ronn has developed. Every one of the "regulars" went well out of their way to break the ice with me on the first day and had no issues spending extra time on the mats showing some of their ways. Additionally, the skill level of all belts in this gym is much higher than what I have been accustomed to and experienced in 3 other locations worldwide, and the number of techniques and teaching points was vast. Finally, the atmosphere exudes a tight-knit, family-oriented facility, and if you were lucky to visit or even live in Oahu, Ronn Shiraki Academy is the most elite school out there. I look forward to my next trip to Honolulu and thank Professor Ronn and his guys for the epic experience.
This dojo is in a great location, walking (or biki) distance from Queens beach in Waikiki. I went twice to the no-gi open mat and there are quite a few guys in all sizes and skill levels - beginners to black belt D1 wrestlers. I had quite a few fun rolls and best of all met some new local friends. The guys were super friendly, welcoming, and appreciate that visitors come by. While I didn't avail myself of this, the owner has lots of gi's he will let you use and wash for you for a nominal charge. I only brought my no-gi gear but as a visitor it's great to know you could do this and leave your gi at home, and not have to worry about lugging it or washing it at a hotel.

AWESOME GROUP! I can’t say enough good things about Ron Shiraki and his merry band of killers! I”m a first time visitor to Hawaii, and Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu-Ron Shiraki Academy was nearby, so I decided to check it out. Best decision I made on this trip. I’m an old fat guy, and even I was welcomed as family. EVERYBODY was fantastic—helpful, inviting, and just all around great guys. You will not feel uncomfortable here, no matter your belt. If you are ever in Honolulu, and you want to train, look no further. This is THE place! Worth every penny. A good solid hour of technique, and then unlimited rolls with monsters! And if you live in Honolulu, and you want to become a monster, Ronn is your guy. Trust me. Thanks again, Ronn, for an awesome experience. And thanks again for the t-shirt.
I've been training jiujitsu for 5 years on and off. I got the chance to train here for a month while I was visiting the island. I really enjoyed the vibe here as the instructors are pretty helpful and Ronn is the head instructor who has immense knowledge and such a nice guy and he will try get to know you personally. Everyone is very friendly and train hard. Has a good mix of self defense as well. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to improve their game.
You guys want some advanced technique, strong fundamentals, strong rolls, and most importantly amazing people? Then you should definitely try this place out.
I've been training jiujitsu for a little over 20 years, the last decade being with Ronn Shiraki. I've been lucky enough to have met some of the best jiujitsu practitioners and coaches in the world throughout my jiujitsu career, and would put Ronn right there at the top of that list... both as a practitioner himself, and as a coach. His teaching is second to none. He is GREAT with both kids and adults alike. Hawaii is fortunate to have been sort of one of the meccas of jiujitsu as it evolved here in the USA, and there are a lot of great choices for training out here, and I would definitely put Ronn Shiraki among the very best that Hawaii has to offer...
RSA is the best place on island to learn, train and develop your jiu jitsu skills. The environment is very clean and the students extremely welcoming. The academy students range from beginner to high level experts and everyone is eager to share their knowledge. The instructors are bar none, especially Ronn m, the owner, who has over 20 years of experience not only practicing his craft, but also teaching it. I cannot express the importance of having a teacher who isn't just a master practitioner, but master teacher. Ronn is both. He also keeps class fun and entertaining as he has a great sense of humor (you would never guess he is a "killer" on the mats). If you really want the full experience and are new to jiu jitsu I would recommend starting with a few private lessons to really accelerate the learning process. But most importantly, just keep showing up.

I have been an athlete my whole life. I am a personal trainer, an IFBB Figure Professional Athlete, a bodybuilding judge, and have competed in many different sports throughout my life. After winning the IFBB Hawaii Pro in March 2017 I stepped on the mats at Ronn Shiraki Jiu Jitsu Academy. Since that day I have been hooked! The people at RSA are so nice, helpful, patient, and everyone wants you to learn and succeed! I've never been in a sport where you have so much support. The instructors and fellow classmates give you such a great vibe and positive energy. You could be so tired from your day, but after you walk out of class you feel energized. This academy really is my home away from home, and the people at this school are my extended family. Joining RSA is one of the best decisions that I've ever made in my life! If I could rate this place I would give it 10 stars for the quality of lessons/information given on the mats, the people, instructors, and level of professionalism.
Ronn & the RSA Team do an amazing job teaching jiu jitsu with attention to technical detail covering self defense and ground techniques in the tradition of Helio & Relson Gracie. Great Academy where the instructors & students passion for the gentle art really shines!

Last day of vacation from NYC. I train at another famous Gracie school at home. These guys were true gentlemen. Even lent me a gi for open mat. I highly recommend this is the place you go. Awesome guys who are indicative of an awesome instructor culture. Thanks to them
I had a last minute change of flights which left me with a 6 hour layover in Honolulu. Rather than wait at airport I contacted angela who welcomed me to the open mat session. Everyone was incredible and welcoming and I had such a great time. Highly recommend. Thank you guys!
Highly recommend this gym. Very friendly towards visitors, in fact I felt welcomed as if I were a regular. Had the honor to watch one of their belt ceremonies and was in awe of the experience in the room. If/when I come back to the Waikiki area this is where I will come to train.
