I was in town for my job orientation and didn’t plan on training but stopped in on a whim. It was gi and I did not have one so the instructor BB Matt let me borrow one of theirs. Everyone was so cool and friendly, Matt is an awesome instructor and I was just blown away by the atmosphere at Rebel BJJ. If you’re in the Minneapolis area and need to train do not go anywhere else trust me.

I've been training at this gym for close to a year now, and I can honestly say it's been a lot of fun... even in the humbling moments. For years, I kept hearing about the benefits of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from podcasts, especially from people like Joe Rogan and Jocko Willink, as well as from a friend of mine in Arizona. Now I see how BJJ helps build discipline, mental toughness, and the ability to stay composed under pressure — not just on the mats, but in life as well. Training here has helped me endure challenges with greater confidence. It's more than just learning techniques for me — it’s a path of self-development, and I’m grateful to have started it here.

Cleanliness is clearly a priority, with the entire space maintained in impeccable condition. From the mats to the changing rooms, everything is spotless and well-organized. Dropped in while in town for work. Overall a great experience! Instruction was top notch and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Next time I’m in town I’ll be catching another class. Thanks again Tim!

Tim is an outstanding instructor and a good human. He accommodated my drop in class with no issues and refused to take my money when he learned I was active duty Army. Nice facility as well with clean locker rooms and spacious training area as well. Thanks Tim!

Outstanding learning and training environment. Tim is not only a knowledgeable instructor, he's an excellent teacher. The gym balances students of all levels. It's serious jiu-jitsu in a relaxed, fun, welcoming environment. Can't say enough good things about Tim and this gym.

Such a great place to train! I started training at Rebel several months ago, owner/instructor Tim and the whole team welcomed me right into the gym - I felt at home immediately. Not to mention, the Jiu jitsu instruction is truly top-shelf. I’m blessed to be able to train here. OSS!

I've only had great experiences at Rebel Jiu Jitsu! I've always liked mixed martial arts and on a whim I walked into RJJ and the owner, Tim, was very welcoming and invited both myself and my co-worker to stop by for a trial class. The trial class was great because I never felt intimated, they were welcoming, and the instructor had a high level of patience for my inexperience practicing BJJ. Ever since that trial class I officially signed up and go on a regular basis and have grown tremendously as both a person and in the martial art. Would highly recommend BJJ to anyone as it is both humbling and extremely gratifying on many levels.

Cool joint with great people inside. Tim the owner is an accomplished BJJ black belt competitor and coach, and Army Combat Veteran. Has a cadre of black, brown, and purple belts to help you learn the gentle art. Good people 🤙

Came in for my first class 8 years ago, Tim was the first person I met in my jiu jitsu journey. I didn't have any experience in any martial arts and he made a computer nerd feel at home. He was always ready to answer my questions, coach me at tournaments and spent extra time in classes to help me develop my jiu jitsu game. Tim has amazing jiu jitsu fundamentals, self defense knowledge and a mindset to continually evolve his jiu jitsu. Tim's a amazing coach, competitor and friend.

Amazing atmosphere, great space, and the instruction is top notch. You get walked through technique and are allowed to advance at your own pace. Highly recommend stopping by if you're looking for a gym to start your jiu jitsu journey or are in need of a new gym.

I’ve been training with Tim Blackstone for about 12 years. He has great knowledge of the sport and is very in tune with modern day sport Jiu Jitsu. Rebel Jiu Jitsu is a pure Jiu Jitsu school that offers classes to all ages. This is an important aspect to me when selecting a gym. I know mat time will not be eliminated for other martial arts class and Tim is 100% focused on Jiu Jitsu. The facility is brand new. The training area is equipped with Fuji Mats. The lobby has multiple outlets for parents to work while watching their kid. The gym has clean locker rooms, bathrooms, and showers.

This is a wonderful place to train jiu jitsu, if it’s your first time or you have trained before. The instruction is advanced and clear. I have been training with the owner for 10 years and he is a great coach and teacher.

Rebel Jiu Jitsu is fantastic! Owner and head instructor Tim Blackstone is a phenomenal teacher, coach, and leader. The facility is top notch with beautiful mat space and a user-friendly setup that includes amenities such as a viewing area with countertop and USB ports, shower, and roomy changing areas. The community of members is friendly, welcoming, but also driven. People clearly want to see their teammates succeed, too. I have been involved in jiu jitsu for over a decade, and Rebel will undoubtedly be my Jiu Jitsu home for good. I would highly recommend checking out Rebel Jiu Jitsu!

Seems like a very nice place but was not able to train because I forgot my Gi, seem like a formal place, nothing compared to the Wisconsin hospitality I got at the Academy bjj in Eden
