Reaper is an amazing facility for Mixed Martial Arts enthusiasts. There is a wide range of equipment for all your strength training needs. It really is a fantastic environment for beginners through to professional athletes, with a lovely health/recovery suite too. The mats are always clean 🫧 and staff are super friendly and helpful too. 10/10
Posted 2 years agoFirst time here. Joined the beginners Mauy Thai and MMA. Tad nervous joining. Although the nerves disappeared when i was welcomed in, staff and coaches are extremely friendly, give great direction and are very helpful. Price is extremely reasonable for the amount of classes you can take i pay £55PM for pretty much unlimited classes a week, no hidden fees, and no dodgy signing up fees! Highly recommend if your a beginner looking to start MMA or Mauy Thai! Last two points, parking is great. And i would seriously recommend anyone travelling a wee bit further away to leave more time to travel as the traffic at 5/6 is a nightmare. 5/5
Posted 2 years agoI hold Reaper grappling in high regard. It is a great space to learn a mix of martial arts. I attended the freestyle wrestling and jujitsu classes, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The coach (Chris) is rich with the patterns of these arts, as well as being patient and approachable (that goes for the guys that attend too). There is a gym full of equipment and space. I personally miss the Air bike. I find it to be a rare piece of kit. So, if you do end up going, get on that thing to go about getting a strong heart! If you have any butterflies about heading along, then head along to get rid of them. The group will welcome you.
Posted 4 years agoReaper gym is an excellent place to train. The gym is very clean and friendly. The coaches at the gym have always been helpful, professional and supportive. The coaches adapt their teaching style to different audiences with ease. They listen and provide respectful responses while demonstrating patience and guidance when interacting with students. Chris Doran has a passion and enthusiasm for coaching. He takes great pride in his work to convey information and also utilises technology in a sport science application. The grappling at Reaper is Brazillian Jiu Jitsu in Gi and NoGi...the most spectacular sport in the world (I'm biased) and also wrestling which is amazing but hard (that's what she said).
Posted 5 years agoI trained here last night, it was different to what I am used too. I thought the class was excellent. Friendly bunch to train and learn from. Will make more frequent visits in the future. Chris, thank you for allowing me to train at Reaper.
