Recently completed the beginners course and it's one of the best things I've ever done. Dave is a top guy and a great teacher, as well as all the other lads who helped teach the sessions. The gym has a really friendly feel to it, and everyone includes you with a general chat and gives tips on how to improve. I only wish I would have started sooner, but I'm now totally sold on BJJ and will continue to train with this great gym. Don't hold yourself back just go for it, you won't regret it.

I’ve just finished the beginners course at pulga and I can honestly say it’s the best decision I’ve made to start at this gym. Very welcoming and friendly, especially for someone who’s never trained BJJ and from walking through the gyms door you’re made to feel welcome. If anyone’s thinking of starting BJJ, I’d highly recommend pulga.

My 13-year-old has been attending this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu group, and I couldn’t be more impressed. The Dave and the coaches strike the perfect balance between discipline, encouragement, and fun. They create an environment where every student, no matter their skill level, feels supported, challenged, and valued. Since joining, my child has gained so much confidence, focus, and resilience. The instructors are patient and knowledgeable, whilst teaching each technique, while also emphasising respect, teamwork, and character. It’s amazing to see how much the kids grow not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. The classes are well-structured, energetic, and incredibly engaging. My teen actually looks forward to every session, and the positive atmosphere makes it easy to see why.

My child attends and their confidence has come on leaps and bounds. The trainers are brilliant with kids, they’re warm, friendly, make it a fun and enjoyable experience. The gym is always clean and presentable and everyone is so professional and yet approachable. It’s become the thing our child looks forward to the most and we’re proud to be part of the Pulga gym.

From the very beginning Pluga has been warm and welcoming - you don’t feel like a member you feel like part of a family. The instructors are not only skilled but also incredibly supportive. What has stood out the most to me is the positive impact joint the club has had on my seven year old daughter. Her confidence has grown since starting at Pulga. She has learned discipline, resilience, self belief all whilst having fun and making new friends. Pulga is more than jujitsu club- it’s a community that cares about its members. I couldn’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking for a safe and friendly place to train.

Pulga is a great place to train. Expert coaching and the competition team shows that around world winning various comps, it’s like a second home to me now. There is no pressure to compete, just all around great place for all ages to train whether it’s for fitness, self defence, go through the belt system or compete. Every person there makes you feel welcome. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Trained BJJ under Dave at Pulga now for 5+ years. The gym is full of like minded individuals who all share a passion for the art. Professor Dave Prescott Is a coach and a friend to all who come through the door and all are welcomed. Couldn't recommend pulga enough to anyone curious to start training BJJ, want to get fit or just try something new.

After trialling a few gyms in the area I've settled on Pulga as that had the highest level of coaching and selection of classes available. I was made to feel very welcome and you can tell head coach Dave is a genuinely great person as it is reflected in the culture of the whole gym. A very welcoming place that is both high level and accessible to all.

My son has trained at pulga for three year now starting in the kids classrs working his way into the adults class. The confidence it has given him at school and on the rugby pitch is immense. I've now started training here with him, brilliant way to get fit and learn something new along the way. Excellent coaches and fellow training partners go and give it ago 👌

Me and my son both train here, I attended one of the intro courses and haven't looked back since. Its a great place to train, learn new skills, build confidence and get fit! All the coaches are great, with a vast amount of knowledge and experience between them. I had zero experience in bjj/grappling but didn't feel intimidated at all when attending my first classes. Everyone in the gym is very welcoming and helpful, all I can say is do not be nervous about attending, give it a go, you will not regret it.
