This summer I visited Praetorian MMA on my 3 week vacation from my home in Toronto Canada, I picked this gym over many others in the area and I must say that I couldn’t have made a better choice. The coaches are extremely skilled, funny and overall just amazing people. The community is absolutely fantastic it felt like I was back in my home gym that I’ve been training at for 8+ years. I genuinely don’t have a bad thing to say about it, I recommend this gym to absolutely anyone in the area. And I can’t wait to come back in the winter.
Was visiting the area for work - did a drop in. Really open, friendly, teaching was really quality, if I lived closer to here, I'd have this as my regular bjj place. Super recommended.
First came down to the gym about a month ago, very good atmosphere and perfect for beginners
Since writing my original review, I’ve also started attending the adult fitness classes that run alongside the kids’ sessions. This has been fantastic for me, as it’s allowed me to get back into fitness without needing to juggle childcare or miss out on my own training. The coaches are not only highly skilled but also incredibly accommodating. They genuinely listen to members’ feedback and adapt sessions to make sure everyone feels included and gets the most out of their training. The balance of challenge, support, and community here is second to none. Praetorian MMA continues to impress me both as a parent and as a member, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. ********** Praetorian MMA is a fantastic club that caters to all abilities, whether you're a complete beginner or more experienced. My two children participate in both BJJ and Boxing, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The coaching is excellent. The coach has a real talent for breaking down complex techniques into easily understandable steps, making it accessible for everyone. This is especially beneficial for beginners who might feel intimidated by martial arts. What truly sets Praetorian MMA apart is their inclusive and supportive atmosphere. My son is autistic, and the club has been incredibly welcoming and understanding. Both the coaches and fellow members create a positive and encouraging environment, which has been invaluable for his confidence and development. I wholeheartedly recommend Praetorian MMA to anyone considering trying martial arts. Whether you're looking to learn a new skill, improve your fitness, or simply find a supportive community, this club has it all. Don't hesitate to pop along and see for yourself!

Great gym, been coming to the club for almost a year now. The club has a great atmosphere with lots of great people and coaches. Recommend if you are trying to improve in boxing, MMA, bjj, and more
My partner has been training here since 2023 on and off due to work commitments but in the time he has spent training he has loved every second of it. I have witnessed him transition from a beginner to a multi gold winning competitor all thanks to the club! They welcomed him to the club and invested time and effort into his development which lead to his very first gold medal at grapplers industries after 2 months of training. Since then he has won 6 additional golds! I tease him all the time and call it beginners luck but the truth is the club is excellent! Whether you want to try it out as a bit of fun and become a medal winning competitor the club is ready and capable of supporting you! My partner is just one example of praetorian's champions! I wish there was a section on their website that showcased the clubs success and a little story to highlight the success of fighters and their journey as their success has improved massively in recent times! Hands down the best club in the area! Our family is proud to be apart of the Praetorian MMA family and we look forward to a strong competitive year starting from the summer!
Posted 1 year agoFriendly gym with a good bunch of people. Good, solid technical mixed martial arts training. You will have the choice of training for fitness/self defence or for competition if you wish to go further. There is no pressure on what ever your goals are. They also offer kids classes. Price wise, membership is about the standard rate for an mma gym, if not slightly cheaper. They offer a one week free trial also should you want to check it out first. Booking is easy and is done on an app. Don’t be apprehensive to pop in and check it out, they don’t bite!
Posted 1 year agoThe best martial arts club I could have ever joined, the coaches are kind, professional and helpful in everything. The people in the classes are also very nice and even the ones with higher belts don't show off their strength if they know you're a beginner. I highly recommend joining, it feels great to be part of something like this.

Posted 1 year agoBest kickboxing and boxing training there is around! When I first joined ladies kickboxing, I was quite shy, Martyn made me feel at ease and was so patient with me training, he is an amazing coach and makes it fun so you can really enjoy the sessions and progress well. After a while I also started the boxing there, the coaches are very welcoming and again amazing at helping you to progress, all the coaches are very thorough in showing you what areas need attention and giving you confidence in what you are doing well in. I have tried the jiu-jitsu and MMA sessions- they are both great.. I wish I could fit it all in. Everyone at the club are friendly and fun to train with.
