I love this Academy. I moved to Austin and was really nervous about finding a Jiu-Jitsu school, but knew immediately after my first class that this was the place. Everyone was so welcoming and there are tons of other women to train with. I recommend it to anyone interested in starting Jiu-Jitsu. Coach Corey is awesome and very detail oriented.

I dropped in for a class at Paragon BJJ while in town for work- the staff were incredibly kind and professional when I emailed to ask about stopping by and when I first arrived. The class was full of very high-level students who welcomed me to train and spar with them throughout the evening. Paragon will continue to be my Jiu-jitsu stop when I'm in Austin

I traveled to Austin for work and wanted to drop in to Paragon for a class. I emailed them, and Laura was very pleasant and gave me all their class info. They have clean loaner gis too, which is a huge plus! The Monday evening class was pretty big with a good variety of both men and women of all belt colors. All the students were extremely nice and welcoming. All in all a very clean and safe training environment. Slight downside is that there was no AC (just a bunch of fans) in like 98 degree weather in the summer... I was not used to that Texas heat! I would love to drop by again if work takes me back to Austin again.

Some friends and I visited here from our home gym. The facility was spotless. I had the privilege of training with very experienced practitioners and left with several valuable lessons for my game. Paragon is world-class. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

I’m from out of town and was generously allowed to drop in for a class. The atmosphere fostered at this gym is both welcoming and instructional. Everyone was kind and respectful - additionally the facilities were well kept, with plenty of space to move. The instructors were happy to answer any individual questions. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone within the Austin area.

This gym is a very woman friendly gym! I have trained at a couple of other gyms in Austin and this gym, by far, has treated me with the most respect. The instructors are all incredibly knowledgeable and high level practitioners. There are probably 20-30 women who train here, several whom are brown and black belts. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking to train.

I dropped in for a couple of classes while I was out of town. Everyone was incredibly friendly. The rolls were tough but not overly aggressive, and after each roll, each person was supportive. I’s be happy to stop by if I’m in town in the future.

Been meaning to give my review. Dropped in on one of Prof Jose's classes in 2018. He gave an excellent lesson, and him, and all of the students were very welcoming. The students there all gave me tough (in a good way) and technical rolls. I was very impressed, as I was a young blue belt still in my 20s, coming from a comp school. Would love to come back next time I visit Austin.

I dropped in while on a business trip. Laura was very welcoming on the phone and at the front desk. Jose was very helpful and welcoming as well. What I really appreciated was the vibe. As a white belt, I had a couple purple belt students offer to drill with me. They were most helpful and patient, even teaching me some nuances that I would have otherwise missed. The gym is clean and the class was well attended. I will definitely be back and definitely recommend Paragon Austin.

Great Jiu Jitsu academy. Good instructors, good vibes from the other members. It's a good mix of hobbyists and competitors. It seems more weighted towards training in the gi, but they do offer no-gi classes. The instructors are very knowledgeable and communicate the details of techniques well. There is a strong focus on drilling and positions/systems are taught sequentially over a few classes. The academy doesn't have the cult-ish vibes of some other schools, they allow you to train in whatever gi you want and they promote cross-training at other schools. Their open mats on Friday night are well attended and fun.

The skill level here is clearly high, had a lot of fun tough rolls and picked up a few techniques from the upper belts. Cannot recommend this place enough to anyone thinking about trying a class.

I alway try to visit local BJJ academies when I travel. Being a higher rank this can sometimes be an issue as some people want to test the new guy. That was not my experience at all at Paragon. They had great communication when I reached out about visiting and everyone there was welcoming and respectful. I had some really tough rolls with their guys and learned several details I will definitely use from the instructor. If you are looking for a traditional BJJ academy that is welcoming, professional and clean, this is the place for you!

I bought my house sight unseen before moving to Texas because of this gym. I knew it was where I wanted to train, so I wanted to live nearby. I can't say enough about Jose's instruction, or about Laura's customer service. It is a supportive place to train BJJ, no-gi grappling, and wrestling. It is a very woman-friendly gym.

Came to Austin on business and my instructor pointed me to this Paragon Jiu Jitsu. The class was full of upper belts and it was very tough training. Everyone was very welcoming and I felt like I was in my own gym. After the class several guys stayed and we cleaned up some positions. It was great experience, I will do it every time I am in Austin. Visited during a business trip for training at 6:30am class. Super friendly group with a good number of students (maybe 16?) considering the early start time. Showers available. I'd recommend contacting them via social media (I DM'd via Instagram) if you want to drop in for a class.

I train at Alliance in Atlanta and was In Austin for business. Dropped by Paragon for the advanced class. Very welcoming environment and great detailed instructor. There were also a lot of tough guys in the class. I highly recommend Paragon Austin and will be back next time I am in town.

Great experience for an out- of-town visitor. Jose was excellent and welcoming, as were the other students in class, with nearly all of them approaching me and introducing themselves. The 6:30a all levels gi class was well-represented with great teaching and great rolls. Outstanding experience. I will be back.

I had the amazing opportunity to train her on Wednesday of last week! I took the "All Levels" jiujitsu class which was taught by Jose. The instruction was awesome and the class itself was amazing! I learned so much and everyone was so welcoming! Laura made me feel right at home while she checked me into class. I am only a white belt, so my training is quite limited. I felt that I was part of the family when dropping in from out of town. If you are looking for a place to train while in Austin, check these guys out! Tonight was my second time popping into Paragon to train and my experience both times have been exceptional. The gym is top notch and everyone I have met training here has been very welcoming. The attention to detail from the coaches while drilling for me being a white belt and new to the Jiu Jitsu game is very much needed! We were in town for a weekend getaway after a job interview, so we decided to drop in to train away all the BBQ we had. So grateful to have such a warm welcome from Jeremy and Laura (even though we were late)! The fundamental class had a huge variety of experienced people from different levels. The atmosphere was relaxed and humble, making it easy to jump right in. There were only a few unisex bathrooms so be prepared with your gi bc there can get to be a bottleneck before and after class when you need to change. Hope to come back to train again next time we're in town!

I’m honored to be the 100th review. I cannot say enough nice things about this academy. I thought I’d check out every studio in town but the environment was so welcoming I just wanted to focus that attention on training instead. But more important than being friendly, the instructors took me seriously as a student. As a woman right now in the sport you’re gonna be outnumbered (maybe that’ll some day change), but having Laura working there was relaxing and inspiring. It was just luck that I started training here and after a week or so I went to a tournament and my fellow students dominated. The community here is focused on collective success, they enjoy seeing each other achieve just as much as themselves. Very cool to see and it enriched my time in Austin.

It is an extremely clean welcoming atmosphere. Everyone was helpful and the coaches were excellent. I would recommend this to anyone beginner or seasoned athlete.

I did a drop in on one of the fundmentals classes with these guys. The team is incredibly welcoming and the gym had a friendly atmosphere. The technique was spot on. Guard passing even at the white belt level was amazing. If you are in Austin and need a place to roll, this is the spot!

I was in town visiting a friend who is a member at Paragon and went with him for a training. I was very impressed with the quality of instruction and members at Paragon Austin. Everyone was super inviting from the moment I walked in and great to train with. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone traveling through the area or if you looking to get into Jiu Jitsu this place is great for you. You will learn a lot in a comfortable environment with great training partners!

Definitely will visit again 🔥🔥👍 Technic was flawless with an amazing coaches, love the atmosphere everyone was helpful.i definitely recommend to stop by and check them out.
