I can’t say enough good things about OGA. My 7-year-old has been training there for a little over a year and half. My almost 5-year-old has been in their younger kids’ class on and off for a few months and is starting to get more interested. Eddie, Hannah, and Courtney are amazing instructors – humble and kind while also being masterful teachers that cultivate an environment that promotes hard work and teamwork. The gym has an incredibly inviting and positive atmosphere. I have no personal experience with jiu jitsu, but having watched my kids in many, many sessions, I recommend it to parents who are looking for: high energy activities (the class is hard and physically demanding, but the kids rise to the challenge), complex challenges (the kids learn complicated, highly technical moves - but the coaches are able to break it down for the kids), confidence building activities (the coaches celebrate every kid’s success, every class. The kids feel seen and valued) and grit (again, the class is hard, but the coaches motivate and inspire these kids). Both my kids adore the coaches and are growing stronger – both physically and mentally – from these classes. Also, when we first started there – I found they were not pushy at all about getting us to sign up. They give free classes for you to come see if your kid is a good fit – which is awesome. If you are on the fence, I recommend coming in to try it out.

Was traveling for work and dropped in for the NoGi class at Oregon Grappling Arts. Eddie and Hannah were very welcoming from the start. Everyone I trained and rolled with were great and I learned a new to me technique. If you’re local and looking to train jiu-jitsu, this is your spot!!

Our son (4 yrs) started class a few months ago and we’ve been so impressed by the patience, kindness, and respect that he learns each week. To see both his physical growth as well as his confidence grow is a gift and we are so grateful for the community and coaches.

My daughters recently started learning Jiu Jitsu at OGA and they really enjoy the fun challenge of the art. The gym is very spacious and clean perfect for wrestling and rolling around. Coach Eddie, Hannah and Courtney are the best instructors and basically magicians at tailoring moves for any level and pairing up the appropriate partner in wrestling rounds. There is lots of feedback given to the kids on refining moves in a safe manner. At the end of the class kids are acknowledged for what they did great and what coaches appreciated seeing done on the mat. I feel the coaches genuinely care for the development of the student and ample attention is paid to each one. Highly recommended Jiu Jitsu instruction for kids and youth.

My son wanted to learn martial arts but didn’t want anybody to punch him in the face. This led us on a quest to find a grappling gym, which we found here. There are a lot of weird people in the world teaching jiu jitsu, but not here. Eddie and Hannah are amazing. Their gym has a culture of respect, patience, pride, and support. The kids cheer each other’s successes as their own, the attention to safety is top-notch, and my son’s has never left a class without a smile on his face.

We started going to Oregon Grappling Arts when they started their 3-4 year old program. Hannah and Eddie are fabulous instructors and their passion really comes through their teaching. They keep the the attention and focus of over ten young students each class while keeping it fun and engaging. Hannah is so patient and kind, especially when our daughter was nervous at the beginning. Now, Ju Jitsu is something she looks forward to every week. We are looking forward to her joining the next age group and practicing on a more frequent basis. We highly recommend Oregon Grappling Arts. Such a wonderful community with high amounts of knowledge and experience
