I can’t say anything bad about Onyx Jiu Jitsu. I am visiting Colorado to visit friends and family for five weeks and needed a place to train. I had a list of 3-5 academies to go to, and Onyx was the first. I never made it to the other academies because I enjoyed training at Onyx so much. At my first class, I decided to sign up for a month, and Coach Isaiah was super nice and accommodating to my needs. Him and the Onyx family were very welcoming. The classes are a mixture of intense and fun which is what I was looking for. They’re not going to drill you where you feel this sport is life or death, but they aren’t going to be super easy on you either. It’s the perfect mix, and I HIGHLY recommend this academy if you’re looking to get increase BJJ skill sets. I even brought in my 12-year old step-son for a class, and I’ve never seen him behave and pay attention like he has in this class. He’s only done two classes before this one, and this is by far the best one for him. I wish we lived in the area for us to actually sign up and train here long term, because him and I would be going here on a daily basis. If you’re looking for an academy, look no further! Thanks for the hospitality and amazing training while I’ve been in town. If I’m ever back, this is where I’m going.
Can’t say enough good things about onyx, the atmosphere in the room is incredible. The coaches lead by example and push the team to improve. The people in the room make it a special place. I’m glad to have found onyx on my move to Denver.
My wife and son decided to change gyms, and we came across Onyx. They are so excited to find a new gym that pushes them and their abilities. My wife feels like she has learned more in the past few weeks than she did the last couple of years. One day, I hope to put down the pizza and sushi and join them on the mats.
Onyx jiujitsu is something special, a truly fulfilling group to be with. It's a bona fide honest, accepting, hard working, inspiring, supportive community. Onyx was recommend to me by a friend, and it's one of the best decisions I've made since moving to Colorado. The people. The rolls. The jokes. The cheers. True and empathetic leaders. Great place for BJJ! The gym and team were super kind and welcoming. I have been doing JJ for a little over over a year and I get the privilege of traveling all over and I make it a point to hop into a gym to get some rolls in. This gym was overwhelmingly positive and hospitable. I learned a lot from their style of teaching and the team was very crucial in teaching me too. Big shout out to Coach Isiah for running such an effective class and running such a great gym with a great culture. I'd recommend this gym to anyone even remotely interested in BJJ.
A little over a year ago I had three local Jiu-Jitsu gyms I planned on trying, to decide where I wanted to train. Onyx was my first stop, I never made it to the other two. Coach Isiah and the tribe made the best impression on me on the first day and every day since. Onyx is a safe and encouraging place to train for all walks of life. The culture of the gym is truly something special. If you've ever been interested in Jiu-Jitsu or are looking for a new gym, I recommend you come experience Onyx.
The onyx crew is like a family, the coaches are amazing & sooo supportive! Kids classes are great too, my son has learned so much and made some amazing friends! 10/10 recommend! Anyone and everyone should come in to try a free class to see what I mean! :)
The moment you walk through the door, you'll be greeted with warmth, respect, and a general feeling of happiness. Along with that, you'll see a beautifully decorated gym, clean mats, and smiles on the mat. The amount of knowledge, thoughtfulness, and attentiveness on the mat is extremely refreshing compared to other gyms and places. You won't only be joining a gym - you'll be joining a family.

Onyx is an amazing safe place to train. the coaches are amazing and experienced and all the students are respectful. I highly recommend Onyx for anyone who wants to start or continue training Jiu Jitsu no matter your belt or level of experiance.
Very welcoming and friendly gym where the instructors breakdown techniques in a very methodical manner. Instructors and students were all very respectful as well. Would highly recommend this gym to first timers who want to get into the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Dropped in for a class while visiting Aurora, and immediately felt the great vibes of the gym. The coaches are at a very high level of jiu jitsu and it is evident in everything they did. Can’t recommend this gym enough, get in and train!
Awesome experience! I was visiting Denver and dropped in to train. Professor lead a great class, and everyone was very welcoming. If you are a resident of the local area or if you are visiting, this is a great place to train.

I cross trained with them one Saturday and had a good time. Legit wrestling was being taught, about an hour of learning and then some good scraps. Xavier is a beast. All the students are friendly and the culture seems welcoming. They roll without hurting each other. A+ drop in.
Came to my first lesson very anxious and nervous. Within the first 15 min I felt at home, great people and great environment. My only complaint is that I didn’t join sooner !
The coaches are the best role models for our boys! They teach them the skills to be great members of the community. At 4 & 6, the boys have learned the value of hard work and dedication

I greatly enjoy training here. The coaches are patient and thorough when it comes to explaining drills. Walking into a brand new school can be intimidating, but everyone here - coaches and fellow students - strives to make this school a friendly and supportive environment.
Discipline, respect, and Jiu Jitsu. That is what my kids learn every day they go. They have mat chats to teach them life lessons and hold the kids to a high standard. The coaches are great with the kids and adults! I also do the adult classes and enjoy learning Jiu Jitsu. There is a great group of people there to help you learn and sharpen your skills.
