Traveling to the area for a wedding, and I did a drop in to the 5:30 Gi class. Everyone was very welcoming, and was excited to have me there with them. I got a lot of really good rolls in, and got to see a lot of different looks and games that I’ve never seen/do see at my own Academy. So that was really awesome for me. Everyone rolled very safe and very technical. All the guys I rolled with were just trying to get some good training in and have a good time. Watch out for that brown belt and his worm guard lapel wizardry! That was a new one for me! Overall, 10/10 and would recommend to anyone in town looking for a place to drop in, or anyone looking for a place to join and learn.

I have trained all throughout the country at some of the most recognizable gyms under world champion black belts, and can 100% say that One Love is a top notch school. Issa is not only a fantastic and highly skilled competitive black belt, but a great instructor and teacher. He breaks down the techniques for everyone to understand, and truly cares about all of his students constantly improving. I came in as a seasoned brown belt, and the level of skill and training at the school is very high, while the vibe is relaxed and friendly. The first day I was there I knew it was where I wanted to train as everyone was super welcoming. They have a great selection of both gi and nogi classes as well. I highly recommend anyone checking out the gym from beginner white belt to experienced black belt.

My kid from an early age always wanted to be a real life power ranger. I once asked him why and he said he wanted to protect himself and the world from stupid people. When we heard about One Love Grappling Arts and the awesome programs they hold, we signed him up right away. My kid is now almost 10 and has been going to his gym since he was 3, four to five times a week weekly and also competes once a month. The instructor -Issa- not only is a highly trained black belt but he is also a role model to the community, a father, and he treats my kid as his own while making him one of the best 9yr old JJ fighters in Arizona and the surrounding states. I have tried several BJJ gyms in the valley and this gym is by far the best one. The head coach Issa Able knows the art of jiu jitsu in and out. He makes the hard to understand moves digestible for students, encourages you to push past your limits, and gives everyone individualized assistance when needed. The best part is, this is not some belt mill that just hands out belts based on time. When you get a stripe or belt from Issa you know it is because you have earned it through learning valuable skills. I live far away from the gym, there are many others more conveniently located to me, but I won’t stop going to One Love. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough positive things about One Love Jiu Jitsu. The inclusive culture and in-depth instruction is on another level. The value that a competing Black Belt can provide to your Jui Jitsu is something that you don't understand until you train under a head instructor like Issa Able. As the Jiu Jitsu game changes and evolves, knowing that your instructor is passing these techniques on to his students is invaluable. I love it here at One Love and love the team that Issa's training and guidance has created...would recommend anyone that is on the fence to come experience this special place for themselves. Oss!!!

I can't say enough good things about Issa and One Love Grappling Arts. Issa has a phenomenal program that is based on the fundamentals and teaching you what works! He does a fantastic job of assessing an individuals capabilities as well as making sure you feel comfortable at every level and doesn't treat the would be competitor any differently than the recreational enthusiasts, and it translates to the culture there. My cousin has been coming here for about a year now and we just moved back to Phoenix this summer from San Diego! My kids are the same age as my cousin, ages 7 and 9 and they started here 2 months ago for the kids class. My kids come 5x a week and I have noticed a huge difference in my kids strength and confidence. Coach Issa is amazing with the kids as is John. They have met many kids from their class that they now consider friends and I am so happy to have like minded, strong, mindful kids they can identify with! During the pandemic coach Issa did online lessons which encouraged the kids to continue with their training even while at home. It’s so fantastic because I notice when my kids are stressed from this online school and unenthusiastic before class they always come out energized, fulfilled and with huge smiles on their faces after they leave! Eventually they compete- once they are at a certain level and competitions start again. My kids are huge competitors and thrive off energy and discipline so I am extremely happy my uncle referred me to this gem of a place!! They are extremely clean here and fully clean it after every class. You remove shoes when you walk in, even the parents and you can sit and watch the kids or leave while they are practicing. I have noticed also that my kids balance has improved greatly since coming here! They are better on their skateboards, falling less and injuring themselves less. An unknown yet positive side effect of jiu jitsu and the strength training they get here!

Saw this jiu jitsu gym open up not long ago and decided to just stop by for some info. When I learned that they offer a free week trial AND the next class was in a couple hours I rushed home to get my workout gear and headed back. I love this gym. It's always a class with other people that I can learn from. The coach is so passionate and attentive to us that it really makes me feel like I'm pretty much getting 1 on 1 training. In these short 2 mo's I've noticed a huge improvement in my stamina and confidence that I could protect my self and stand a chance if I'd ever, I hope never, get in a situation where I would need to protect my self and my loved ones. I started training jiu-jitsu several years ago, but never managed to get into a routine. After moving to Arizona, my wife wanted to give jiu-jitsu a try as well, and found One Love. We immediately realized that this was going to a different type of gym, and we instantly made jiu-jitsu a part of our lives. Coach Issa inspires you to be a better jiu-jitsu practitioner, on and off the mat. This includes staying humble. You acknowledge that you're not always going to be tapping out all your opponents. We all train to help each other get better. I really like that Coach Issa has you take responsibility for your submissions. So you learn not to just start cranking on every armbar just to get a submission, because that only teaches you to muscle through sloppy technique. Instead, Coach Issa leads you to focus on proper technique; to keep your movements crisp and tight. I can see this obsession over proper form with everyone I train with. When we roll live, it's never a chaotic free for all. It's instead clean, almost choreographed, and you start doing submissions with precision. Some other key things that make One Love a top notch gym: The classes start right on time and they are well structured. There is a consistent progression in every class. We focus on basics, and building off the basics. This is the reason I can see improvement in the long term. I get to practice each technique hundred of times. Coach Issa doesn't show you something once, and you don't just get things "good enough" and move on. Instead, you work on the details for weeks and months, and always get better. Coach Issa helps you whenever you are stuck. He will pull you aside and make sure you are caught up. From day one, he's friendly and inviting to new people who are trying jiu-jitsu for the first time ever. If you are experienced in jiu-jitsu, you will refine you skills and achieve more than you thought possible. If you are new to martial arts, One Love is the best place to start!

My husband and I started attending classes here in June of this year and I'm so glad we did! As a female student who has never practiced any type of martial arts, I was nervous to get started in this sport. As soon as I met coach Issa, I knew I was in the right place! I felt welcome in this space right away and have been loving every class so far! Issa is an amazing coach! He is patient and breaks things down so they are easy to understand! Everyone who trains here is so friendly and welcoming. I'm so excited for this journey and what is to come!

Great gym, great coach, great community. Whether you have zero experience or lifetime's worth, you will gain a ton from being here. Having been in the grappling game for 14 years, I've been around several great coaches. It's not that hard to find a coach with great skill, which Issa unquestionably has. But finding a coach with such a mature approach to a sport that can be so mentally-trying is rare. If your goal is to just get in shape or to be a world champion, I recommend giving One Love a try. Bring your kids too - there is an excellent program for them as well. You will be challenged, but also supported throughout your personal journey. You'll forever be grateful you took the first step.

Issa Able is an amazingly patient, and knowledgeable coach. He has a gift for teaching that not a lot of people possess. This academy really is a special place. Everyone here is helpful, and friendly while also pushing you to be your best. High level competition, and a welcoming friendly atmosphere isn’t an easy formula to master. Yet Issa, and everyone here have it figured out. I did a lot of research before being lucky enough to be able to choose One Love Grappling Arts. Issa Able is a top notch instructor and competitor in the sport. This gym can give you so much more than just a good workout (though it will do that sufficiently as well). I have been training for several years and had been on a 2 year hiatus from the sport when I found One Love Grappling Arts. I had truly forgotten how much Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu meant to my life. If you are curious about BJJ or Kickbocking, just come in! Everyone is VERY friendly and we thoroughly discourage the typical meat-head attitude you see at so many gyms in the valley. Become more confident in BJJ/Kickboxing, learn INVALUABLE self-defense techniques, and make friends with a team of eclectic individuals; where there is never a dull moment. I love where my life is right now and I attribute it all to Issa, the staff, and everyone who comes to train at One Love Grappling Arts! Hope to see some new faces roll in soon! WE ARE ALL ONE!!!!

Joining One Love grappling is one of my best life decisions taken so far. After years of sedentary life style and having no much control over the deteriorating health, joining Issa's classes turned my life into a positive direction. I lost weight, gained self confidence and strength and felt 10 years younger. More than anything, I learnt a practical martial art that I have been longing for long. I value the friendship of my fellow gym mates and Issa greatly. I am happy and proud to learn from Issa who has made BJJ his way of life. Its a wonderful opportunity to train with accomplished, helping champions in every session and grateful to Issa's systematic training based on my strengths and weaknesses. I wish Issa great successes in the future and continue serving the community.

Issa Able is the man with the plan. Excellent coaching, attention to detail in every aspect, and a creative jiu jitsu game which truly makes it an honor to learn from. I hadn't realized what a big name in the Jiu Jitsu community Issa is, until I started going to open mats at other gyms and hearing people talk great about my coach. His gym, One Love Grappling Arts, is such a fun environment. This is the best gym in the valley, I wouldn't want to be a student any where else.

The owner Issa is really great at what he does. Everyone who trains here is nice and happy to help each other out. Nobody makes anyone feel like less if they are a beginner. Best gym in the valley.

Issa is one of the best grapplers in the state. Whether you train to compete, for self defense, or just for fun, you will receive top notch instruction at One Love. If you live in the NE Phoenix area, I highly recommend dropping in on the reg.

I highly recommend One Love Grappling. Issa's instruction is great. I learned more here in my first couple of days than I learned in two months at a different gym. They offer classes in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling.
