Ohana Westwood has been amazing for my boys. We were looking for an activity that could provide an outlet and some discipline for our boys. We came to Ohana Westwood and our boys immediately loved it. Coach Jesse and Coach Sean are both amazing and I love that they work the kids hard while still being compassionate, caring and fun. Ohana Jiu-Jitsu has been an incredible experience for my son! He’s been attending for a few months now, and he absolutely loves it. The coaches are amazing patient, knowledgeable, and great with kids. They create a positive and encouraging environment that helps build confidence, discipline, and courage. I’ve been training at the Ohana Westwood Academy location since October 2023. Membership and families have grown tremendously, yet I still feel that I am thriving here (my husband and kids too). Coach Jessie, Coach Sean, and Professor Justo are very family oriented. I noticed that the coaches at the toddler and kid classes are also family oriented, which aligns with my values centered around family and positive discipline. Jiujitsu is a family practice for my family and it is great to have a gym family like Ohana (truly sticking to the Hawaiian word meaning family). I train mostly with Professor Justo at the 6am class before the start of my workday. It’s wonderful to have found a gym I feel safe, confident, and humbled at. Both women and men who train alongside me are respectful, kind, considerate, and leave their egos at the door. Injuries are common and inevitable in this practice, however I truly feel that each person that has stuck around has embodied the spirit of camaderie, integrity, and being a good partner by being respectful of different training levels and mindful of injuries. I look forward to continuing to train here and be a positive coach and role model to the toddler class as well as my own kids.

My wife, two kids, and I have been doing BJJ here for a year and a half. We love the coaches, how class is run, and the overall culture. I feel like the coaches are all invested in the students growth and care about everyone. Overall, I recommend OHana to everyone who wants to try BJJ. I also do the wrestling class that just started and I’m loving it.

I’ve been at Westwood since they’ve opened. The coaching and staff have been a HUGE blessing to me and my family personally. Our kids have done the tots 4:15 class as soon as they could and the coaches did everything in their power to help them learn and have fun, and our kids have loved every minute of it. I’ve been involved in the adults classes from the beginning and can’t say enough about every coaches desire to not just help you learn as a jiu jitsu athlete but also grow as an individual. I really do think that what sets Ohana apart is that BOTH the high end competitors AND the average Joe dad can find a home here, be pushed and encouraged the same. This place doesn’t just talk about values and good character but pushes adults and kids to demonstrate the things they discuss each week. Thankful for everyone at Ohana Westwood.

Originally trained at Ohana HQ but my daughters favorite coach moved over to this property. Loved the building such a beautiful setup. All the coaches there are so wonderful and so great with all the kids. They make sure the whole family is included and it just always feels like you are visiting family. I absolutely love every aspect of what this gym offers. They skills and knowledge with the sport itself to the environment they bring once we walk in the door. I honestly don't have one bad thing to say about this gym and the people behind it. Would 1000% recommend to anyone parents thinking of signing their kids up for self defense or just fun even for adults that want to be more active or be able to protect yourself as well. Thank you to all the coaches at Westwood for the friendly, family, fun environment.

This place is amazing! I have taken my grandsons to their practices here and they absolutely love it. When I go, I have noticed how well the staff is with all different age groups. My family of five and I have been training at Ohana for about two years now and the only regret I have is not finding them sooner. As a father of three teens and one elementary student, I found it difficult to bridge the divide that comes, hand in hand, with teenager adolescents. Ohana created the perfect environment to not only repair & restore, but strengthen our family bonds through discipline, passion, and consistency. For us it’s a family affair and Ohana is family.

By far the best Jiu Jitsu gym I have ever been to. Not only are the coaches amazing, but the members of the gym have always been welcoming and very kind. This is a result of the environment fostered by all the coaches. Jesse and Sean have been amazing coaches and mentors since the beginning. Justo has a great team in the mornings (6 AM) and the addition of Mark in the late evenings (and lunch time) and Suzanne for the women's classes has been amazing. With all of these coaches and the many different times the gym is open throughout the day/week, you will not have a difficult time staying involved with Jiu Jitsu. Although I haven't used the gym for wrestling or Muay Thai, I know Coaches Ethan and Mateo are great and care for the students in their class. I go to this gym with my two daughters (ages 15 and 12) and they both participate in the adult classes as well. I highly recommend the gym to anyone who is interested in beginning the journey or a seasoned athlete.

Great coaches that have really helped my kids grow. It’s been a blast watching them get to where they are now. All the coaches are positive and respectful. I’ve been to other places where the coaches would cuss at the kids and that didn’t fly with me. The coaches here show that you don’t have to be that way to have great students. I recently started going myself and have found everyone in the classes I’ve done to be great. Everyone is willing to help no matter the skill level you have.

My family has been training at this gym for almost 2 years now. Both coach Jesse and Sean are great. They strive to create the Best culture and environment possible. There are a variety of times and disciplines to train including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, mixed martial arts and Muay Thai. The price you are quoted when you join includes unlimited training whereas most gyms charge a set price for 2 to 3 days a week of training and if you want to increase the number of days or classes you attend you have to pay more. Many gyms require that you only wear their clothing including gis rash guards and shorts. They have completely free trial classes no strings attached.

Ohana Academy Westwood is the absolute best place in San Antonio to learn Jiu-jitsu. At 58 and 205 lbs I physically needed something other than treadmill and weights to get my mind and body in shape. Well coach Jesse, Sean, Mark, and Alec are the best at getting the very best out of you no matter how old or young you are. Since our initial contact with Ohana Westwood we have been treated as family. My daughter was coming in from gymnastics and she made the switch to BJJ and it has made all the difference. I’m fairly new to combat sports, but the Ohana Westwood instructors and students have been so cool and helpful which allows me learn a lot and to become a better over all not just in combat sports. I highly recommend Ohana Westwood to anyone who wants to push themselves to learn new skills while also being around a good group of people while doing so!

My daughter Liliana started jiu jitsu last month absolutely love it My daughter's happy the coaches are absolutely amazing and so good with kids I would suggest anybody if they're interested this is the place to go by far.

I’ve been with Ohana for 2 years now and I have to say it’s been nothing short of amazing! Sean and Jesse have always done there best to be more then just coaches but friends too. I truthfully can say to all Ohana Westwood is an amazing place for you to grow in more aspects then just JiuJitsu!

We’ve been here since 2023, around the time it opened. And we absolutely LOVE IT. Coach Sean & Coach Jessie has helped our family in so many ways and our boys love them and love going to class! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Our whole family has been attending Ohana Westwood for a little over a year. Along with us having all learned great jiu jitsu/wrestling/Muay Thai skills, we have gained a family. Our children have grown immensely in their self confidence and discipline. The coaches and staff truly care about the children and families that attend the gym. We love Ohana WW!

My fourth grader has been coming consistently and eventhough he didn’t want to at first, O’hana has won him over. He has started to feel capable, strong, confident and it has gotten his mind off of fortnite! The coaches are the best we’ve experienced. He really likes the classes. Coach Jesse leads the school with such integrity and we feel so blessed to be at this school.
