Oakland Kickboxing offers martial arts that join traditional and modern elements together. We frequently train using punch mitts and Thai pads which allows us to intermix footwork, boxing techniques and the dynamic kicks from Tae Kwon Do to train strike combinations that can be seen in modern combat sports.

If your kid of yourself is interested in kickboxing, I highly recommend NorCal Mudo. It’s great to have an affordable place close to home. The coach is knowledgeable, experienced and patient with the kids. My child recently joined and enjoys going to practice every week. Check it out!!

Been with Coach Vince for a couple months and I can definitely feel a lot of improvements in offense and defense. Lessons are always a joy as we're trying out new things and starts to pick up the more you go. Definitely worth it!

Vince is an incredible instructor. He is passionate, knowledgeable and empathetic. I trained with him 1 on 1 in kickboxing for a number of years and couldn’t imagine learning from anyone else. His teaching style is heavily focused on technique with cardio as an equal focus. One of his strongest traits is his ability to provide analogies to help you better understand a technique. I highly recommend both private instruction and classes that Vince teaches.

Vince is a great mix of things. He's super attentive to his students, what they need, how they are doing, and how to best get them to internalize what he is trying to teach them. He has been in the martial arts universe for a long time and really knows his stuff. I appreciate how he can dial in on a person's technique in a way that is 100% constructive and encouraging, but also to the point and unambiguous. He clearly wants what is best for his students while also keeping a high standard for excellence in skills and technique.

Vince is a coach and martial arts educator like no other. He's very experienced, smart, kind and extremely observant - careful to correct stances, anticipate issues, explain the logic behind different movements and exercises, and is an encouraging and empathetic teacher. Martial arts can be intimidating and frustrating when you don't get started with the right foundations - proper form, proper body positioning, proper mental expectations. As an absolute beginner, I wanted to learn the basics well, and I was so lucky to meet with and learn from Coach Vince. Anyone who gets to work with him or his team are very fortunate. Happy learning!
