I visited Nexus whilst staying with family in Leamington Spa. I am a black belt so have trained for a while and in a variety of gyms and found the level of Jiu Jitsu here to be excellent. Usually I train in Gi and so was a bit skeptical to come to a No-Gi class but as it was what was available on the day I was visiting I went along. It was a truly humbling experience but one that I thoroughly enjoyed. The gym is clean, the classes start punctually, everyone was friendly and the level of Jiu Jitsu is outstanding. The members of this gym are excellent practitioners of Jiu Jitsu, the head coach Kevin is on another level. If you ever get the chance to train here just do it, you can learn a lot and have a great time.

Began training here a few years ago, and so glad I did. The level of knowledge from the coaches here is honestly incredible. Their knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu is something iv not come across elsewhere, and they're always willing to take the time to help you improve, no matter your experience level. The atmosphere at the club is one of its biggest strengths, friendly and professional. The coaches push you to develop and reach your potential while keeping training enjoyable and motivating. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced competitor, this is a fantastic place to train. Highly recommended.
My son has flourished here after we moved back from the USA. We feel very thankful to have this place in Leamington. The standard is very high with an encourgaing enviroment and I am super impressed with the coaches attention to all the kids.

Great place to train, everyone is really welcoming and Coaches are truly expert in BJJ and approachable excellent teachers. Sparring sessions are a must and the Coaches spar with everyone.

Joined in January 2025 on the beginners course. Amazing club, so welcoming. Kev is one of the best teachers ive ever experienced. I only regret that I didn't start 20 years ago!

I joined Nexus in July 2023 and have been blown away by a) how awesome BJJ is both in terms of a non-striking martial art & a way of getting a full body strength and cardio workout multiple times a week. b) an amazing community of beginners and experts with a really friendly vibe right from my first session. It was pretty intimidating walking into a martial arts club as a 30 something dad, but right from day 1 Tom, Kev, Penny and the other coaches and higher belts were super welcoming and everything is very relaxed in terms of attending whatever classes you wish (no problem for beginners to do any class from structured beginner course right through to advanced classes). Everyone is respectful and looks after each other, a number of us beginners entered a national competition last week and did really well (highest scoring team!), which is sentiment to how great this club is...and the best part was competing with a great group of people who are friends and training partners.
I attended this gym for training sessions and unfortunately had a poor experience. On two separate occasions, I heard a coach make negative nationality-based comments about Eastern Europeans. As someone from Eastern Europe, I found this inappropriate and unprofessional in a coaching environment. This affected my trust in the culture and standards of the gym. A gym should be a respectful place where people can train without nationality-based remarks from staff. I also had concerns around training safety, but the main reason for leaving this review is the repeated nationality-based language from a coach. A gym should be a respectful environment where people can train without comments like this from staff. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures this kind of language is not accepted.
