My son really enjoys going there for BJJ. The gym is well equipped and has a lovely feel to it.
Amazing place. All the staff and coaches are lovely, very clean environment. No one is intimidating. If your thinking of training, as either a beginner of someone with experience I recommend NGMA. 🙌🏼
Joining NGMA back in November has been the best decision I’ve ever made, and one I wish I made sooner! The coaching team are not only amazing martial artists, but also amazing people, who are incredibly supportive, encouraging and welcoming, with classes inclusive for complete beginners! NGMA is also fully equipped with a gym, sauna, equipment available to purchase, a safe environment to train and a convenient timetable of classes. The community that Alice and Rachel have created at NGMA is also second to none. You arrive as a nervous beginner and leave feeling confident with loads of new friends! I’ve genuinely spent every session with a smile on my face and would recommend NGMA to anyone looking to start their martial arts journey!
NGMA has very quickly become one of my favourite places! Starting as a beginner can be overwhelming, but I was made feel welcome and comfortable as soon as I stepped through the door. Alice and the team really make an effort to get to know everyone, and make you feel as part of the community. Coaches are not only super knowledgeable, but also very likeable and friendly. They cater to all levels, with the beginners classes being a great way to start your martial arts journey. Can’t recommend the gym enough!
I love this place! I currently train on a morning session run by Alice. Super friendly and the classes are easy to follow and get stuck in with. All the other guys and girls there are awesome. Great for any level
I joined NGMA in December 2025, and I can honestly say it’s been one of the best decision I have ever made. The beginners' membership is accessible, offering a great range of classes scheduled at convenient evening times that easily fit around a busy day. My first few sessions were with Rich, the beginners' boxing instructor. Right from the start, he made a genuine effort to come over, learn my name, and give me a quick but thorough introduction to what I should be focusing on. That simple gesture instantly put me at ease and made me feel completely welcome. The classes themselves were fun, provided an amazing workout, and weren't overwhelmingly technical for someone just starting out. I enjoyed it so much that within two months, I upgraded to the striking membership to gain access to all the striking classes. What makes NGMA so valuable is the environment and the diverse roster of coaches. Each coach brings their own unique style and perspective to the mat, providing something different for every student. It creates a highly well rounded learning experience and definitely keeps everyone on their toes (or the balls of your feet!). While I have overwhelmingly positive things to say about every single coach, my biggest takeaway for anyone thinking of joining is that the coaches here aren't just elite martial artists; they are genuinely smart, experienced teachers. They possess a rare ability to quickly assess your individual skill level and guide you accordingly, only increasing the technicality as they see you progress. That pacing is an art form in itself. It means you will never be left standing in the corner feeling out of your depth or overwhelmed, even during some of the tougher classes. I also have to mention that the gym and the business itself are a true inspiration. The culture and atmosphere that Alice has nurtured here are nothing short of a marvel. Aside from being a highly accomplished martial artist herself, she possesses incredible leadership and people skills. Because of her direction, the community is incredibly friendly, supportive, and welcoming, while simultaneously attracting fighters of exceptional quality. It is a testament to the standard she sets as the head coach and owner. For me, NGMA has truly become my "third space" outside of work and home. I feel I’ve found a real community here, and I would encourage anyone thinking about it to come along and give it a try.
NGMA is incredible ! It is a very friendly, welcoming and supportive gym. I was quite apprehensive about going to a martial arts gym for the first time 5 months ago but Alice, Rachel and the team were brilliant and made me feel welcome I’ve been hooked since and am upset when I cannot make the classes! The classes are great mix of beginner friendly and intermediate and the coaches are encouraging, enthusiastic and patient 🙂 The coaches are lovely and genuinely invested in seeing everyone learn and improve. The gym is clean and tidy and plenty of space to do a workout or a stretch after a class. The monthly fees, for the number of classes and mixture of classes available is well worth it! Everyone is made to feel welcome and I would definitely recommend NGMA to anyone who wants a great place to get fit and learn new skills no matter your age!
I've been training a bit of muay thai here An excellent gym with great coaches. Been to other martial arts gyms where the coaches do not care about the students. Here, good technique is prioritised, as well as safety of those training. Slightly more expensive than other gyms but 100% worth paying that little extra to train here. No doubt you get more than you pay for.
I've been training at NGMA since June 2021 and it's been absolutely wonderful! The gym is so well-equipped and there's so many disciplines to choose from taught by one of the best coaches. One of the standout features of NGMA is definitely its sense of community. The environment is welcoming and inclusive, making it easy to stay motivated and committed to your fitness goals. I'm quite sad to go, but I'd 100% recommend it for anyone in the area who's looking to start/continue their martial art journey.
Posted 2 years agoI've been training at NGMA for a year now, and it’s been an incredible experience! The gym is well equipped and clean, but what really sets it apart is the amazing community and coaches. I've tried quite a few classes here but I really love Will's and Alice's kickboxing classes! The instructors are not only highly skilled but also genuinely invested in helping you improve. The environment that Alice and Rachel have created is super friendly and supportive, which creates a really positive atmosphere. If you're looking for a place to get fit, learn martial arts, and be part of a great community, NGMA is the place to be!
Posted 2 years agoI began training at NGMA a few years ago a relative novice in martial arts and was overwhelmed by the warm community feel of the gym. This paired with experienced coaches who have pushed me to keep improving as a martial artist is what makes this place special. There's excellent facilities and a range of different disciplines at different times across the week allowing regular training. I would highly recommend NGMA to anyone looking to try martial arts for the first time or those experienced looking to sharpen their skills.
Posted 2 years agoI've been a member for around 2 years. The gym is exceptionally well-equipped with everything you need for a comprehensive work out. Love all the coaches, really professional, encouraging, and interesting! Enjoying every session here. Highly recommend NGMA to anyone looking to improve their fitness or learn a new material art!
Posted 2 years agoWhat a gym! Being away from my home gym, I was lucky enough to stumble on NGMA, and Alice was super welcoming to me. Incredible facilities, genuinely feels like a world class gym. Super clean, tidy, modern, and just a cool place to hang out. Thanks to Monique for her boxing class and Lukas for his bjj class (both of whom demonstrated their wealth of knowledge and experience), and all the members who were also welcoming and respectful. I would recommend this gym to anyone, from complete beginner to elite level. An absolute bloody pleasure to attend!
