My 8-year-old son attends Jiu Jitsu classes with Coach John on Monday and Friday evenings, and the impact NCMA has had on him has been wonderful to see. He’s had a bit of a challenging year with his confidence and attention, but since joining NCMA, I’ve noticed a real positive change. He looks up to Coach John immensely and is always eager to make him proud. That speaks volumes about the environment John has created—safe, welcoming, supportive, and encouraging for every child who walks through the door. As a parent, it’s incredibly heartwarming to watch my son become part of such a positive community. Not only is he building confidence and making friends, but he’s also learning valuable life skills and developing discipline through Jiu Jitsu. We’re excited to see what the future holds with NCMA. The classes have become a real highlight of his week, giving him something to look forward to at both the start and end of the week. Thank you, Coach John and the whole NCMA team, for making such a positive difference in his life!
My son has been coming to the club for more than a 3 years now and he wouldn’t swap for another! Sensay John is perfect with kids and Sensay Raily have a great relationship with young adults. Coach assistants are also chosen very carefully, no bragging, very helpful and friendly to all especially newcomers! They will make you feel like part of family for sure.
Amazing place! I have been training with New City MA since January 2026 after a couple of years of reluctance about transitioning my gym-based pad work sessions to the more competitive and two-way style of training. Needless to say that my concerns were completely unfounded and I wish I had signed up much sooner. All kickboxing sessions are expertly planned, demonstrated and delivered by Riley, who truly loves what he does and is able to adapt the methods to any fitness, skill or experience level. John and Riley have created a welcoming and supportive environment which is suitable for all, regardless of whether they have been training for years or are putting the gloves on the for first time. Communication from John is excellent through regular emails and WhatsApp updates to ensure all members are kept informed and are notified of any upcoming changes to the timetable. I look forward to training with John, Riley and their team for a long time to come.
Been training BJJ at NCMA for a while now and genuinely can't recommend it enough. John is a great coach, he explains things clearly, gives useful feedback, and actually tracks your progress. The atmosphere is friendly and ego-free which makes a big difference, especially when you're still learning. I've improved more here than I expected to in the time I've been training. Solid gym.
My son has autism and struggles to attend classes for the first time. He really likes to watch UFC and asked if he could find a martial arts lesson. Johns lesson was fantastic, he was welcomed in by everyone and felt part of the group straight away. The members who had been going for some time were kind and patient whilst he learnt the basics. He came home with a sense of achievement, self worth and wanting to come back again the next day!! The instructors were informative, professional and welcoming to both my son and myself
