I am a Healthcare Traveler and wanted to find a gym that can help me stay in shape. I came across Morning Star by chance since the gym I intended to sign up for was not accepting anymore applications. This Jiu Jitsu gym has been giving me a positive experience so far in Colorado. Coach Tim, Coach Junior, and the people I met so far and everyone who trains here are incredible. Coach John (who teaches afternoon classes) is one of the reasons I usually do 2-a-days and not miss afternoon classes. I get to see his approach on certain things while also learning from the other coaches in the morning and night classes. ~watch out for that double arm bar~
I went to a few classes here and was always welcomed and treated like I've been training there forever. the instructor is thorough, skilled, and shows very useful techniques for everyone. He is also very kind and approachable. The gym has a laid bad energy and primarily teaches nogi. The only thing to know before you go is that it's a little hard to find so go early. You'll take some stairs up to the gym.
Saturday morning called Tim at 10 seeing if it was cool for me to drop in on there 11am training session he was more then welcome, I had a couple lbs to lose before my tournament on Sunday Showed up and every one was beyond nice Tim even flow rolled with me to warm up! Thank you for welcoming me in.
I’ve visit here a couple of times for open mat, everyone was welcoming, coaches are great, I had fun and tough rounds, looking forward to training more.
Tim was one of my original instructors, when he was teaching in Minnesota. My experience with him was that he was a patient, caring, and welcoming instructor. I was able to drop in during my visit to Denver, and I can tell you that none of that has changed. He's as good of an instructor as he was before, if not better. I think if anyone is looking for a Jiu Jitsu gym in this area, this is the place to be.
5-Stars is not enough for Morning Star BJJ. This place is an amazing school. All staff and students are very friendly and willing to help whether you are brand new or experienced. As a Strength and conditioning coach for the last decade, morning star has the best coaching i’ve ever seen. I would HIGHLY recommend Morning Star BJJ.

My first experience training jiu jitsu and over the past 2 years I've definitely fallen in love with the art. Tim is a patient, highly attentive professor who wants nothing more from his students than a willingness to learn. Morning Star will always be my recommendation for future practitioners.
Legit! Professor Gilette is a fantastic instructor. His range of lineages makes his style very adaptable and progressive. He has great detail and explanation in every technique. The gym is professional, clean, and welcoming! Highly recommend for beginners as well as seasoned BJJ athlete's in both Gi and No Gi.

Morning star has a team environment that makes it easy to feel comfortable. Tim breaks down everything in a simple way to understand way. I love the class structure, everything builds on it self and it makes sense even to a beginner like me. Each class is a complete class in its self. I can only go 1 night a week, but every class I get a complete lesson and learn something new. Great place, for a great price!

Morning Star is the best. Professor Tim is extremely knowledgeable. He explains everything in a simple manner and helps you learn at your own pace while challenging you to improve each time you roll. As a beginner I highly recommend Morning Star.
To be honest, I was a little wary of the all five star reviews. I thought they were planted. But, after several sessions with Tim and the group he has put together, I'm adding my own five star review. His patience and tact in guidance is astounding. Also, the students he attracts really want to learn and have nothing to prove. The type of student that stays is also a mirror of the teacher. Tim has really put together a group of students where you will flourish from a beginner all the way up to someone who has been training for a decade. Morning Star is one of the reasons, I want to stay in Denver but, opportunity calls and I must be off. I will miss everyone there and I hope to see your faces when I return.
This is a great dojo. Really open and friendly atmosphere. Tim is a super knowledgeable instructor and a really cool guy. His style of teaching is very structured with classes and techniques building one on top of the other. If you attend regularly you will see good progress. Highly recommended!

After putting roughly 8 years into martial arts I've found that the most important things I look for in a gym are quality of instruction, quality in students/peers and culture. This gym is top notch in all of these categories making it a great gym to start or continue your martial arts journey.
I have been coming here for the past few months and I am hooked. Tim is an amazing instructor. He is friendly, knowledgable, and helped me overcome my nerves when rolling for the first time. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know.
Great atmosphere and top notch instruction. Plus it’s really flexible and accommodating to your needs (if you need to come in late because of work, if you have an injury etc). Tim is an awesome and extremely knowledgeable coach and you can ask him anything!
