I have learned so much about martial arts and self defence, I feel so much more confident as a woman and solo traveller. Mike is an amazing teacher and fun person to work with, I look forward to my lessons every week!

  I've been training with Mike for a while now and can't recommend him highly enough. He's incredibly experienced across a wide range of martial arts disciplines, and it really shows in the way he teaches. Every technique is explained clearly, with a focus on what actually works in real-life situations. The atmosphere is always friendly, relaxed and welcoming, so it's a great place to learn regardless of your experience level. I work security, and the techniques Mike has been teaching me have been genuinely useful for my job. His emphasis on control, awareness and practical application has given me much more confidence in dealing with difficult situations. If you're looking for a knowledgeable instructor who creates a great learning environment, I'd definitely recommend training with Mike.

  Mike is a fantastic coach. I’ve been training with him for a few years now and he’s got fantastic knowledge, skills and humour!! You will have a brilliant time with him learning old-world skill sets that can serve you today in many ways. He has a vast array of knowledge from many renowned predecessors. It’s a good confidence boost, a good workout and he’s a total gem of a human!

  I’ve been training with Mike for the past few weeks and have been incredibly impressed. His depth of knowledge in martial arts is exceptional, and his personal journey and experience in the field are genuinely fascinating. The atmosphere at the gym is outstanding. Everyone who trains here is welcoming, supportive, and respectful. From my first session, I felt completely at ease, it honestly felt like I’d been coming for years. Mike’s MKMA/KMAX system is a well structured, engaging training method that keeps every session challenging and enjoyable. It’s a style that genuinely makes you want to keep coming back and improving. I can’t recommend Mike Krause enough. What a guy.

  My daughter and wife attended the woman’s only self defence class, 5 stars all round. It was a comfortable environment and group, welcome to all levels of experience. Pace of the class accommodated all levels of fitness whilst focusing on safety, prevention and all else fail techniques to stay safe. Will definitely be attending the follow up classes! Lynesay

Not only has Mike got an incredible in-depth knowledge of Martial Arts, he is also a genuinely good person and reliable mentor.   My kid has been attending Mikes classes from 2024 and he loves it. He looks forward to it every week. Mike is a great teacher and is amazing with the kids. I can the confidence building each week. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a martial arts for your child.

Known to me as Guro Mike, this gem of a human being is as brilliant a martial artist, as he is a life enthusiast/coach…and not to mention an amazing chef! My years of training with Guro Mike go back a long way but it’s always so refreshing and inspiring to train with him and be put through mill whenever I visit Glasgow. If you want authentic Jeet Kune Do, as certified by Bruce Lee and Guro Dan Inosanto, then this is the place to be! Guro Mike is second generation certified in the lineage. At MKMA you will find a fabulous environment to nurture your interests, passion and skills in the martial arts! The club teaches a variety of martial arts ranging from JKD, Muay Thai, Kali Escrima, Penjak Silat, Savate and Taekwondo(Guro Mike being an undefeated champion back in the day!)
