I really enjoy the bjj program that Coach Fern is running. Good balance of competitors and hobbyists with good vibes always! Several classes scheduled throughout the week makes it easy to attend with a busy life.

Nice thing about San Antonio is that there are a lot of Jiu Jitsu programs available, and you should find one that really suits you. That’s why I like training at Midian. The program caters to all types of students (competitors, hobbyists, people just looking to get fit, etc). Coach Fernando has a wealth of knowledge that he breaks down in an easy to learn and easy to recall way. The students are all supportive and welcoming. It’s a more casual atmosphere that I enjoy. No bowing in to photos on the wall. No egos. No pushing people to be competitors. Just good, solid Jiu Jitsu training. You can have your big box chain Jiu Jitsu schools or you can train at a smaller and more personalized program like the one at Midian.

My husband has been trying to get me to go to Jujitsu for a very long time. Particularly this gym. I finally did. Fernando is an awesome coach. Very patient and kind. I have extreme anxiety so that is very important to me. My husband was right, this is something I needed. Highly recommend!!!!

Coach Fern is an excellent coach that is patient, knowledgeable, and shows you how Jiu-jitsu can help you in all walks of life. So not only I get to train under the best Jiu-jitsu coach in San Antonio , I get to train with my brother and other awesome fellow students. It's a fun place to be.

Midian is a great place to learn and train BJJ. ALL classes are taught by Black Belt instructor Fernando Rodriguez. Fernando’s knowledge of jiujitsu as well as Muay Thai and mma gives you insight into his commitment to help you reach your BJJ goals. Fernando consistently gives the team opportunities to improve and compete. I have lost weight, improved my cardio and BJJ since I started training 2 years ago. Midian is a positive, friendly and welcoming gym. I highly recommend Midian BJJ and Fernando Rodriguez!

His unique teaching style has helped accelerate everyone’s learning on the mats. He doesn’t complicate techniques, he keeps it simple and efficient. The jiujitsu squad there is a vibe.
