So good!!! Step by step instruction, no patronizing, no fear tactics, positive encouragement and solid techniques. Non- lethal applications as well as lethal if needed so we can choose which level of response is warranted if threatened or attacked. Atmosphere is safe and acknowledges triggering and potentially traumatic situations. I will def be back!

Gracie Jiu Jitsu taught me and my coworkers a self-defense class here in San Antonio and it was great! Mark was very informative and helpful and taught us all many techniques we can use out in the real world. Would highly recommend!

Marc is the best. He explains and demonstrates each technique until everyone understands. When starting anything new its intimidating especially for shy kids but Gracie jiu jitsu NE San Antonio has been such a great place for my kids not only to learn jiu-jitsu and self defense but respect, self worth and manners. Not only are they learning but they are surrounded with people who want to see them succeed. Marc takes time in class to ask about their day and boy to the kids love it. My kids worked their way up from no martial arts experience to earning their yellow/white belt and are still going Everyone is so inviting and you won't regret becoming part of the family.

I had a great time at Gracie Jiujitsu San Antonio. Head instructor Marc Torres had a seminar where I learned amazing self-defense techniques, great place to train. If you’re looking to learn self-defense in San Antonio Texas, then this is it! Amazing structure and safety is priority. Come try your first class you won’t be disappointed.

First of all, Marc is a great teacher and a major reason we chose to come to this location. I have no martial arts training of any kind, and when I first started coming it was easy to get involved with everyone. The lessons are well explained and the attention to detail is shown with every class. My 6 year old has been in the kids bullyproof program and that has also shown us his new skills and confidence. Again Marc is so good with all the kids lessons and makes time for each kid individually too

I’ve trained a few different martial arts, and Gracie Jiu Jitsu is one of the most inclusive and welcoming of students of various different sizes, abilities, and training goals that I’ve ever worked with. The lessons are thoughtfully laid out, carefully demonstrated and explained, and students get plenty of time to ask questions and practice with each other. Beginners focus on learning principles and skills; they do not “roll” or spar until they demonstrate proficiency. Grace Combatives teaches students the correct application of specific techniques, not submissions. Students are respectful and work together to help each other achieve their goals.

I attended a free self-defense seminar with my husband. I have no prior self defense training, and the instructors were very welcoming and provided a safe environment for learning. I like the structured layout of the program and class format based on mastery of pre-determined objectives. I will consider returning in the future :)

I checked out a bunch of schools in my area. This was one of them. I went here one night. With that said, I ended up going to another school (for now) due to location, however the lesson learned here I was able to actually retain and employ multiple times in my other school. The technique was affective and the teaching style simple to follow, you learn by indicators to anticipate the attackers next move. This is brilliant. The instructors were passionate about the lessons and I believe they will be very successful. My one concern is the instructor is a blue belt ranking so if you care about pedigree this might be a problem for you. HOWEVER, he does need to certify under a BB for a certain technique so it’s not a concern for me. Especially knowing how well the lessons sticks. If you have ever been under duress you know you do not think or move as quickly as normal. I believe this is the period of time your lizard instinct is trying to make up its mind for fight or flight. When under this stress you do what you have been trained to do, hopefully the training was simple, affective, and well practiced. Having found for myself that one lessen 2 months later has stuck with me better than some lessons I have practiced for weeks. I have no problem recommending this school. I might actually have to enroll as I have developed tendinitis on both of my arms from the constant Gi gripping and pulling. My arms are very injured. This school would allow me to continue training safely as there is no rolling for beginners.

Yvonne and Marc are great instructors! The best for Gracie Combatives and Women Empowered training. You can't go wrong when learning at a Gracie Certified Training Center.

I learned more here in a few classes than 6 months at another school taught by two black belts. The curriculum makes learning easy and safe. Marc and Yvonne have answer every question I have ever had and always give helpful pointers. If you are wanting to learn for self defense this is the place if you want to learned random inverted and flying stuff look elsewhere.

The classes are great, you learn to protect yourself better with these techniques. The instructor and co-instructor are very knowledgeable of the arts. I have taken classes so have my brother, and my sister has taken the women's empowerment program. This school is well worth it.

I had a great experience! Marc was very through during each class. He explained everything to be able to understand and follow with ease. I feel very confident in all I learned and have very intention to go back. They also were very clean and professional following the panadmeic guidelines which made me feel safe and comfortable.
