This place has been an awesome experience since day 1. Immediately embraced the realization that we're not just part of a class,, we're part of the team! You don't find that just anywhere.
Awesome school with great people to train with!
Welcoming environment! Everyone is friendly, coaches are helpful and super knowledgeable on jiu-jitsu. I’ll be going back
Great experience for my free class. I learned a lot about BJJ, Judo and Wrestling. One of the few complete grappling studios in the city.
Amazing place to get some work in, amazing people to go against.
The vibe here, coaches, students and staff amazing. Very high level Jiu Jitsu, Judo and Wrestling. You will not be disappointed.
Combat social club is my favorite place to train judo, wrestling, and jiu jitsu. Coach Dave does a fantastic job of keeping the club from being too intimidating to beginners while still providing top notch training to more experienced individuals. I have recommend combat social club to many peers and will continue. Thanks guys!
Great academy. Besides the main jiu jitsu program they also offer judo and wrestling which will help you improve. Good instructors and a very friendly community.
Amazing establishment, no egos! Very friendly environment, with a nice safe hard work atmosphere. Kid friendly! Recommend to anyone wanting to get into wrestling, judo, or BJJ!
Great culture here. Coach David is great working with the kids!
Combat Social Club (CSC) is a standout Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym that offers a truly enriching training experience. The coach at CSC is not only an amazing instructor but a mentor who genuinely invests in enhancing each member's skills and techniques. With a wealth of knowledge, they provide personalized feedback that helps everyone, from beginners to advanced practitioners, elevate their game. The gym fosters a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, characterized by great teammates who are as eager to learn as they are to help others improve. The sense of camaraderie at CSC extends beyond the mats, with many members forming lasting friendships. Additionally, the cleanliness of the facility is top-notch, with well-maintained and clean mats, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all practitioners. CSC is more than just a training space; it's a community where anyone passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can thrive.
My grandchildren have been tremendously blessed to have the opportunity to attend the jujutsu classes at Alamo Heights Combat Club. This amazing program has provided them with invaluable lessons that extend far beyond just the physical practice of martial arts. When my grandson first started attending several years ago, he was a shy and introverted child who struggled with confidence and focus. However, through the patience and guidance of the sensei and senior students, he slowly came out of his shell. The structure and discipline required in jujutsu helped him build self-control, determination, and respect for others. The dojo feels like a second home, with a warm sense of community among the students and families. The sensei takes a holistic approach, reinforcing important values like humility, integrity, and perseverance along with the technical jujutsu instruction. My grandson learned so much about having a growth mindset and never giving up, even when faced with difficulties. Now it’s my granddaughters turn. I couldn't be more grateful for the positive impact this jujutsu program has had on my family. Thank you!
Great place to train and learn a variety of disciplines. Everyone is friendly and happy to help each other learn. Coach Dave is a patient knowledgeable guy who just wants to see people grow. The judo club inside CSC is very beginner-friendly and encourages people from other sports to try something new. 10/10
CSC is a mid sized gym near San Antonio airport that focuses primarily on jiu jitsu, judo, and wrestling. Head coach David will not only welcome you with open arms but treat you like family. There is a balanced blend of students, from hungry new comers to relaxed experienced veterans. The environment is relaxing and peaceful with good music and better conversation. Whether you are a traveler passing through, new to self defense , or looking for a new home, CSC should be a consideration.
Very good place to train, I strongly recommend this place! Knowledgeable and caring staff, good location, friendly students, very organized on all levels.
Love Head Coach Dave and his teaching style. A welcoming, friendly environment with kind members and coaches who have a strong community.
Awesome place to train at with very knowledgeable coaching. Went in with close to zero experience but was able to follow along and learn the techniques being taught. Thanks for the moves CSC!
Great place to train for all levels of experience. Keep up the good work CSC!
Update: I received a follow up phone call from Pablo asking me to reconsider trying the business. It was very professional and nice. In the voicemail he left, he stated that perhaps not all the Google info had been updated from six months ago and that the business would have to look into it to confirm. Makes sense. I appreciated the phone call. Then, I read the response below stating I didn't use Google maps to navigate and everything was clearly indicated on the website. I did use Google maps. I used Google maps to navigate to the address indicated on the business website. Google maps took me to an empty retail space, locked up, for rent with no business signage. Then I checked the confirmation email sent to me by Combat Social to verify the location of my class. The email confirmation told me to go to an address on Broadway. Perhaps this problem can be fixed for future customers who might experience such technical difficulties. I signed up for a free class and signed the waiver. GPS took me to a Nacogdoches location. Then I confirmed a Broadway location. Followed GPS to Broadway location. Found a warehouse with a boxing gym, cycle studio and book store. No signage on the building for Combat Social Club. Double checked my email - nothing telling me to look for a suite inside the building etc. Based on the website this space should be large. It would be helpful to potential customers to make the location clear and maybe clear up what's going on with Google Maps. The first location I was sent to is an empty, boarded up retail space.
