Best spot to train makes you feel good and a grate community
love this place! has helped me grow in ways i never thought i could.. and get jacked 😝 jk. but seriously the environment is so welcoming, the people are friendly and you really are family when you’re there.
Best gym in town. Family oriented and great environment to learn. If you are ever hesitant to start because you’re new, don’t be! Not at this gym.
MAMA has become a second home. I began training to get in shape, and never thought I’d become someone who trains several times a week. During my time at MAMA I faced some tragic personal events and the gym rallied around myself and my family. This gym is family and I couldn’t ask for a better place to train and to bring my son to train too. I’d welcome anyone to come check it out and get involved!!!
Joined this gym 4 years ago without any martial arts experience. Found a very welcoming group of people who fostered a culture of inclusion and helping out anyone who needed it. I love that this gym offers, BJJ, Muay Thai, as well as strength training classes with a weight lifting area. Very family friendly as well, kids have an area to play around while parents do classes. Coaches are fantastic and experts in the martial arts they teach. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about starting their martial arts journey or anyone looking for a new environment to continue their training
I've been training Jiu Jitsu at Mid America Martial Arts for over two years, and I highly recommend this gym. Aaron, the owner, does an excellent job with the programming and fosters a welcoming environment for both new and existing members.
Top notch coaches, excellent facility, and a real community vibe. If you’re looking for an authentic gym with good people and fantastic programming for just about anyone this is it. 5/5 stars
Great place with a great group of training partners! Everyone treats you like family and kids are welcome even during non-kid classes! Perfect place to get started on your martial arts journey or make the transition to a better gym that's a better fit.
Great coaches, culture and class offerings. Best value among gyms in Omaha.
Been training jiujitsu with MAMA for a little over 3 years, and I love it! I appreciate you guys!
Everybody was kung fu fighting
This is the best Multi-Martial Art Gym in the Omaha area and it isn't even close.
Exactly what we needed. My son is standing up straighter after a couple years of weight gain and low self esteem. He’s happier, hopeful, and nicer to his little sis:) He loves the coaches and Ashley the manager is a treasure. Everything has been a cinch thanks to her orchestration and excellent communication. I will be joining soon…even just dropping my kid off there makes me feel like Ronda:)
Had a good experience meeting Mike Penny and training Judo. Look forward to visiting more in the future.
Enjoy the gym, great staff and culture.
I've just gone there for the first time, and it impressed me a lot.
I just started training at MAMA and it has been a very positive experience. The coaches and staff have been nothing short of incredible and I look forward to many years at MAMA improving my martial arts skills.
I've been here for a long time. Great family type of atmosphere, clean, and friendly. If you're thinking about starting to train, do it! It can be a bit intimidating for folks, but you'll be fine and fit in.
Mid america martial arts offers adult and children classes and private instructions.
It is an absolute joy to be a part of this family.
Absolutely love this place like a 2nd home and the people like family!!!
I drive past 2 other Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu gyms to get to this one daily. The reasons are Mid-America Martial Arts is ran by not only exceptionally talented martial artists but there aren't any egos here either. Despite being home to UFC fighter(s), the weekend warrior still feels welcome here. Regardless of your skill level, you will not only be challenged here but you will also be welcomed into the family.
The people at this gym are great. I've worked with 3 or 4 different teachers already, and they all want to make sure that the students are actually "getting it." None of the teachers have any problem working one-on-one with a student to make sure he or she is getting the movement down. In addition to the teachers, the other students are very helpful as well. The idea of iron sharpening iron is very prevalent here. If you're working with a class mate and he notices an improvement, he'll help you out, and not in a "I know more than you do" way, but as a way of making you better. So far, my class size has been as small as me (one time in the intro class) to as large as maybe 10-12 people. It's been big enough that I get experience working with different people, and small enough that the instructors know my name, and remember moves I've struggled with. From what I can tell, these guys know what they're doing as well. A lot of the people compete in regional and national tournaments, and they seem to consistently be bringing home medals and belts. The closest I got to martial arts before this gym was a class at the community center in 6th grade. But because of how great this gym is, I can't wait for training days.
