My 12 year old son started training here a couple weeks ago and I was incredibly impressed with the coach and gym. The coach is awesome and the gym is very clean. It has a great waiting area with a big window to watch the students train. My son loves it and I would highly recommend Mat Time.

Top quality coaches who actually care about making better wrestlers out of your kids. We’ve tried other gyms before this one and I can’t say enough good things about Mat Time, the program and the coaches there.
Once we moved back up north from the Central Valley, we were looking for a spot for our son to begin his wrestling journey. We have been taking our 6yr old to MatTime for the last 2 seasons and he’s been have a positive experience. Jim and his crew; coach Adrian, Elena, and Jake have been great coaching for the young kids. Keep building good, strong kids!

I have only good things to say about MatTime. My 6 year old was really keen to try the kids' wrestling program (and to be honest, I was a little apprehensive), but it's been the best thing we could've done for him. Jim (and Coach Elena) have been supportive, patient, and incredibly welcoming. But it's also been so much more than wrestling. Being at MatTime has instilled respect and created more resilience, and confidence in my kid and in their young wrestlers. It's been an incredible place to be part of.
Even though this is not the primary sport for my kids, it’s a sport they all keep coming back to. We have had the best experience at MatTime. Jim and his coaches make learning this sport super fun and engaging for kids of all ages, and I especially love that my girls enjoy it too. Highly recommended place!
James and the rest of the people at Mat Time are really passionate jujitsu and wrestling practitioners who really take the time to teach the kids. My son came in to MatTime with a lot of fear but he quickly overcame his fear and got comfortable with jujitsu & wrestling thanks to James and the folks at MatTime. James takes the time to teach the kids about respect and discipline which is very important in this day and age.

This place is awesome. I was hesitant at first because my son is a little more on the sensitive side but its been amazing for him. The coaches are very patient. I really appreciate how they are with the kids. The only downside is that I can no longer wrestle my child because well he has skills now😅
Excellent youth wrestling program! Coaches are top notch! I took my 7th grade son here after being involved in several youth wrestling programs throughout Sacramento, and he has by far developed more here than any other program. I often found my son being left behind in larger programs and watched as his bad habits and frustrations grew to the point of him not really liking wrestling anymore. We wound up at MatTime on the advice of an old teammate who has dramatically improved his wrestling training here for the last 2 years, and I wish we came sooner. Coach Klingsheim does what is absolutely necessary to bring out the best in your child's abilities and connects with them in an amazing way. After 7 months, my son is now much more confident in his abilities and loves wrestling again. Thank you all! We'll be back!

Mat Time is the place to go for adult jiu jitsu! I think it can be intimidating starting new things when you are an adult but I felt comfortable here from day 1. The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone that attends is friendly and helpful as well. Jiu Jitsu is definitely a martial art that everyone should take. You are never too old to learn. I feel like the things I have learned from Mat Time have made me more confident and will definitely come in handy if I am ever in an unfavorable situation. Mat Time is the place to go.

MatTime has been awesome for my 8 year old! He has really enjoyed learning new skills in Jiu Jitsu and the coaches do a great job of helping each and every kid with form and understanding positions. It's the perfect combination of challenge, skill building, and caring coaches. While we are taking a break during this season, we will definitely be back!

MatTime is a great Jujitsu gym. I went to there evening adult classes and really learned a lot from everyone there. The owner Jim has work really hard to create a positive and encouraging environment. The classes range in experience from those who have trained for years and those just starting. I had no background in wrestling or any martial arts training and I felt very comfortable working with the other athletes during the rolling sessions. Everyone is working to better themselves and the egos get check at the door.
Top-notch wrestling instruction from great, knowledgeable and caring coaches that take the time to connect with your kids and then motivate them appropriately. My 12yo daughter and 10yo son appreciated that their coaches didn't allow or ignore their newer classmates misbehaving or being distractions. They instill a good work ethic and use positive reinforcement to motivate. Owners are amazing, they make a point of interacting with the parents, learning the goals for your kids and how they can help. They're still adjusting their offerings and welcome input. My kids unfortunately aren't dedicated wrestlers but have learned a lot at MatTime that has improved their other sports abilities (football and gymnastics). It is definitely time and money well-spent!

Our family loves Mat Time. We have sent two of our sons through their youth wrestling program, and we have been nothing but impressed. They offer programs that challenge and grow kids of all ages. The coaches are engaging and fun, yet firm and consistent. Our boys especially love Coach Adrian as he is truly great at working with kids. Their classes include a range of tumbling exercises, athletic conditioning, and, of course, great wrestling skills. We highly recommend Mat Time to any family with children who are interested in wrestling.
If your son or daughter is new to wrestling Mat Time should be given serious consideration. My 7 year old son is trying out all sorts of activities and wanted to try wrestling. He ultimately decided to not continue with it but still had fun and learned a lot. Coach Adrian is a fantastic instructor. He explains things that is very easy for younger kids to understand and he is very patient. If my son wants to start back up I will definitely go back to Mat Time.
MatTime has an amazing team of coaches! Coach Adrian has helped our 7 year old learn the basics of wrestling, proper technique, and gain confidence during tournaments. I highly recommend the kids wrestling for any family with energetic kids like mine!
MatTime's kids wrestling program is the best. Adrian's class is a great balance of drilling, sparring, and wrestling based games. My boys have a ton of fun, and learn a lot. I recommend MatTime to everyone!

Our 5th grade son has absolutely loved his experience at MatTime. Although brand new to MatTime, he's been welcomed in with open arms by a great group of young wrestlers. As a parent and wrestling coach myself, I've been impressed and have loved the coaching staff. It is obvious that the kids come first with them. They have a wonderful way of teaching fundamental wrestling skills while at the same time making sure the kids have some fun. I would highly recommend MatTime as a great experience for new and beginning wrestlers. You also can't beat the price!

My two sons love MatTime! They've been taking wrestling here for a couple months. The coaches are very knowledgeable and patient with the kids. I really like the fact the coaches spend a lot of time drilling technique, but still let the kids do a little bit of live wrestling at the end of each practice. The owner, Jim, is often at the practices and takes the time to get to know the parents as well as the kids. The monthly cost is very reasonable and the training is great.
Fun group and nice instructors! Workouts are challenging and varied.
